Just got to have yet another thread for us to grumble about our favourite soap, warts and all.

grin

Calendargirl Thu 13-Mar-25 06:58:37

Surprised Tracey doesn’t want to move with Tommy O.

Surely she won’t get back with dopey Steve in Ken’s overcrowded house?

Daisy flirting with that awful Mick! Thank goodness Daniel was there to save the day. Does he ever work or look after his son?

Ilovecheese Tue 11-Mar-25 12:22:18

I am an episode behind but I really felt sad for Daisy.

Grannynannywanny Tue 11-Mar-25 11:47:55

Yes Calendargirl I laughed at David vowing to pay back all the money to Daisy.

If it was that easy he should have done that in the first place and his house wouldn’t have been burned down, Max wouldn’t be in prison, he wouldn’t have planned his own death and Daisy would still be pregnant.

We’ve come to expect unbelievable storylines in the soaps but this one really takes the biscuit.

Calendargirl Tue 11-Mar-25 10:06:16

Daisy is a ‘user’, I’ve little sympathy for her.

I love how David is going to ‘pay her all her money back’.

Where from? This magic money tree?

Cabowich Tue 11-Mar-25 09:05:59

Last night's episode was not bad at all, I thought. All the emotional drama going on. Poor Daisy - the makeup artists have gone to town. I love her waspish comments.

vegansrock Tue 11-Mar-25 07:50:52

Another serious illness story. No doubt Julie will be seen in the private hospital suite recently vacated by David.

Calendargirl Tue 11-Mar-25 07:11:24

They kept on about Yasmeen’s ‘shares in Speed Dahl’.

Who holds the other shares?

Alya? Zeedan? Stuart?

Have we ever seen Yas in a car before? At least she didn’t depart in a Streetcars taxi, not that anyone seems to be working anywhere at the moment.

Betsy needs a good talking to, what a little madam! Flouncing off at the drop of a hat, then running home to Mummy when it suits.

Already fed up of Dylan in his secure unit, if only he had gone to Durham with Max.

LovesBach Mon 10-Mar-25 22:16:43

The 'Hey Presto' factor has come into play again - within hours Yasmeen has accepted the job, packed, sold Speed Daal and is on her way. Alya must be around twenty five, her late father would be about fifty, therefore Yasmeen must be at least seventy. Remarkable that she has been head hunted for a job in London with seemingly no relevant experience.

vegansrock Mon 10-Mar-25 20:58:23

Why would Leanne want to work in Speed Dal? How is she going to modernise it?!

Calendargirl Mon 10-Mar-25 20:46:50

Bye bye Yasmeen,

All done and dusted in a couple of episodes.

Charleygirl5 Sun 09-Mar-25 18:04:07

My pea brain cannot take it all in, but at least that woman whose name escapes me and is so wooden is leaving the restaurant/ cafe, and Alya will have to find another partner. At least there is plenty of money flying around because if it is somebody we know, I doubt if they will have a bean to pay their share.

vegansrock Sun 09-Mar-25 06:23:47

I’m confused by alll the money stories. Didn’t Stephen take Equity release on Audrey’s house originally? Then there’s the money in the bag that David had which Jesse took and the pub money now Shana’s having some of that. It’s all going round in circles. What’s happened to Gary and his junk shop? Didn’t he own half the factreh? No doubt David will be up and back to normal next week freeing up the hospital set for the next emergency.

Grannynannywanny Sat 08-Mar-25 09:40:11

Thank you Calendargirl for that summary of the route taken by the wad of cash as it bounces around the residents and villains of Corrie . I tried to figure it out last night but gave up.

I’ve watched it since the very first episode! That’s 65 years, so I feel really sad that the new producer/writer, Kate, (?) whatever her name is, can come along and ruin it in just a few weeks. That is some feat. I think she should be sacked, like NOW.

Many on here will agree with you.
Bring back the normal day to day stories we can all relate to, laugh at and enjoy. Real life isn't a villain hiding around every corner.
Daisy, who was so insistent about Jenny being ousted as landlady to protect Bertie's inheritance has now transferred it all to Shona to appease yet another villain. It makes no sense.

Clawdy Sat 08-Mar-25 08:26:47

Yes, it's all prison and hospital! Finding all the money stories a bit confusing! And hoping Daisy ditches Daniel.

Calendargirl Sat 08-Mar-25 07:40:01

So Daisy has given Shona the money to pay off Harvey from the money lent to her by Daniel?

Supposedly to pay off Carla for the money they used to buy the Rovers?

How does Daisy envisage paying Daniel back, as they won’t have the pub which Daniel was going to be a part owner of?

Glad Carla is practically back to normal. How is Rob managing after his loss of kidney and being on the run, with no money, food, access to medicines etc?

Yet again, plenty of hospital and prison type scenes.

I'm getting fed up with the violent stories.

Me too.
I watch Classic Coronation street too[2006 currently], and it is almost nothing like now.

LovesBach Thu 06-Mar-25 14:21:16

Gail is being excluded from the terrible news of late because she has a heart condition - otherwise it would be difficult to explain why she hasn't visited. When Ryan had the acid injury, his mother Michelle evidently didn't come because she was in hospital, so he went to visit her. It must be difficult to work around characters who have left - Sophie and Rosie are rarely mentioned, and of course their father is seriously unwell right now.

Maggiemaybe Thu 06-Mar-25 12:05:53

Yes, it was well done, but oh, it’s all so maddening! David leaving proof of intent in a letter and phone messages, very handy for the police. Especially with Andy not quite getting the concept of a hit and run and hanging about at the scene. Poor old Shona, everyone reading her letter and lying to her, though we know as sure as eggs is eggs that it’ll all come out soon enough in a screaming match in a public place in front of half the street. Poor old Kit preached at by sanctimonious Daniel, as if he was the one to blame for Daisy and Daniel having a quickie in the back room of the pub, and Daisy then telling Kit the baby wasn’t his.

And even though I’ve watched it twice, sad as I am, I can’t fathom out what Daisy was faffing about at in the middle of the road…

I wonder if anyone’s thought to phone Gail?

nanaK54 Wed 05-Mar-25 21:09:04

Wasn't that good!

Calendargirl Wed 05-Mar-25 20:42:56

Was that Amy in a nurse’s uniform? confused

When did that happen? Thought she worked in the Bistro.

Thank goodness for paramedic Asha.

jobieP Tue 04-Mar-25 13:11:26

I'm getting fed up with the violent stories. I watch it for human stories like Daisy, Cassie etc.
Think I will start fast forwarding.

LovesBach Tue 04-Mar-25 11:01:06

Ken has decided not to press charges against Cassie; presumably he can do that as she has stolen from him, but what about the drugs he has been given? That must surely be considered a serious offence - and I thought the policeman who arrested her mentioned 'endangering life'. Max has just been given eight and half years (?) for a similar offence.

Grannynannywanny Tue 04-Mar-25 07:52:43

David has never been the sharpest tool in the box but his actions in recent months have been crazy. Now he thinks it’s a good idea to have Andy run him over with a car and kill him. Not leave him seriously injured and unable to provide for his family, not result in maiming him for life, he needs to kill him. What could possibly go wrong?

Drunken Jenny came close to telling Kit about the paternity results. She seems to have said enough to make him suspicious. I wonder if the truth will come out before the cash transfer happens to oust Jenny from the pub ownership.
