Just got to have yet another thread for us to grumble about our favourite soap, warts and all.

Did the stuntman who did Rob's horrendous fall think he was at the circus? Being so high and tumbling backwards.

Tonight and then we have a rest to make way for the football. Are they not the lucky ones?

Calendargirl Wed 19-Feb-25 09:21:50

Why would Chesney recognise him though?

Did he ever see the silver van driver?

I don’t think he’s seen their van yet.

The fast forward button gets plenty of use these days. As soon as Abi, the new neighbours, Carla & Rob, David & Shona and Lauren appear, on it goes. Corrie takes about 15 minutes to watch these days. Where are the new neighbours children? Why hasn't Chesney put 2 and 2 together and realised who his new mate really is?

Calendargirl Wed 19-Feb-25 06:49:08

The awful new male neighbour reminds me of Wayne Rooney.

It’s not him is it, moonlighting?

Charleygirl5 Tue 18-Feb-25 22:25:52

Gemma's hair is awful. The colour is too dark.

There is rarely time to clean the hospital room before another from Corrie is in bed.

I agree. Rob was somersaulted downstairs, landed on his back and 10 minutes later, he was able to drive, not forgetting he had major surgery.

I fell asleep but doubt if I missed much.

BlueBelle Tue 18-Feb-25 21:04:59

Well that was ridiculous between the awful neighbours, Rob half dead but still going strong no sign of the bent copper girlfriend and weepy Swain then Kevin and his dodgy bits what a shower
Quite of the evening from Kit Half of weatherfields police are out on the job ……Well that’s just Craigy then

Calendargirl Tue 18-Feb-25 21:00:09

Let’s hope Max is soon shunted off to Scotland.

As for Superman Rob……

And the ghastly new neighbours, when do any of them look after any children?

Just boozing all the time.

It’s on tonight ( Tuesday)

Far too much going on in Corrie at the moment.
I thought the new guy so was going to be the silver van driver.

Keeep watching!

The new character is dreadful, even worse than the bimbo that latched on to Dev's son.
Carla and Rob storyline is just too far fetched to be believable.
Kevin really does look ill.

Calendargirl Tue 18-Feb-25 08:20:44

And who is looking after baby Frankie, as Lauren seems to be be spending her time between the cafe and the court, doesn’t seem too concerned about his well-being at the moment.

At least she wasn’t sniffling into her sleeve last night.

Sarnia Tue 18-Feb-25 08:11:12

The only shred of humour was when the surgeon came in with a felt pen to draw a mark on Kevin's testicle and Debbie asking him to wait while she made a hasty retreat.
The rest was pure slapstick. Why do the scriptwriters insist on events which wouldn't happen? I suppose Swain will think Carla tipped Rob over the banisters and we will have weeks of that. I wish they could find some good storylines for the likes of Glenda and Todd. Both characters have a lot of potential but seem to be almost extras these days.

vegansrock Tue 18-Feb-25 07:05:18

Trying to think which characters haven’t either been in hospital or prison recently.

Calendargirl Tue 18-Feb-25 06:54:47

Awful new couple.

Gemma “But she’s ma mate!” Yes, of about two days standing.

And Chesney, who never has a bean, gaily lending his new mate a tenner for flowers.

Why didn’t he just say “Sorry, I’m skint as well”.

Pathetic storyline.

vegansrock Tue 18-Feb-25 04:32:28

Carla could have screamed / fainted as they passed numerous staff in the hospital. Prison/hospital/hospital/ prison - I’m fed up with both of these much used sets. Seriously thinking of giving up my Corrie habit when it changes format . Not liking the new couple.

That fall down the stairs was ridiculous! He virtually did a somersault!

Devorgilla Mon 17-Feb-25 21:27:17

And none of the medical/nursing staff noticed two post-surgery patients had disappeared. We lived near a surgeon who hated these storylines on soaps. He said it gave people a false idea of how quickly they would recover. The reality, as he put it is, if you fall off a roof you are more likely to be in a wheelchair for life than being at a disco the following week.

Calendargirl Mon 17-Feb-25 20:31:21

Goodness!

Mandy has a gun!

Rob, minus a kidney just a day or two ago, has overpowered and duffed up a policeman, got dressed, escaped the hospital, broke into the back of Carla’s car, …..

Superman or what!!!

I agree that they do have to reflect real life characters. We don't have to like them though.
Just to flag up, Corrie is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Then we have to give way to the Great God of Football.

Thanks for letting us know.

I presume that then means less advertising revenue?

I always think, in the Uk at least, we often dont realise how much even large institutions, rely on the advertising.

Charleygirl5 Sun 16-Feb-25 22:26:01

That is what I read

Why are they short of money?

Because their viewing figures have dropped so much?
