Camilla, the Wicked Stepmother?

I watched this on Channel 4, but it was mostly a rehash of what has gone before. What did amuse me was Harry up there on the moral high ground about members of his family ( Camilla, we are to assume) getting ‘into bed with the devil’ and briefing the tabloids, when his mother was the biggest manipulator of the press ever!

Really, you have no problem with women who harmed because they don’t harm you or yours ? I do find liars difficult
and poor woman certainly lied.

I've more problem with the men, and the harm they did.
Nobody twisted their little arms to make them play away.

They were all playing away.

The rest of the rant about Camilla is the usual same old same old.

Daddima

So, may I ask how you got the information that he told her he didn’t love her the night before the wedding?

Good question. Maybe the poster was there or in the usual fashion knows someone who was there.

Judging by the 'facts' on this thread, methinks that some of you have been watching that famous work of fiction, 'The Crown'.

MissAdventure Thu 28-Nov-24 14:56:29

She had none that impacted me or mine.

Anniebach Thu 28-Nov-24 14:54:48

Depends on the flaws surely,

MissAdventure Thu 28-Nov-24 14:51:57

I liked her because she was human, with flaws.
It appeals more to me than the idea of perfection.

Anniebach Thu 28-Nov-24 14:50:25

I agree but Diana was wrong with her - there were three in the marriage, she really did tell many lies

As an ex avid fan of Diana I was blind to her faults but over the years I came to realise how manipulative she was , yes before all Diana lovers have heart failure she was cheated on by C&C but they had an enduring love that has lasted decades and have been true to one another, DIana on the other hand went out of her way to get what she wanted and to hell with other people, Will Carling was one marriage she wrecked along with Oliver Hoare plus others , she played the victim game very well and damaged her children through it, God knows how William has come out of it so well , perhaps he was lucky to find a good woman who loved him, at an early age . Harry on the other hand is a very damaged man/boy and is taking it out on Camilla. Just wish the press would leave the royals alone now

I think it's fair to say those men played their own part in wrecking their marriages.

tattygran14 Thu 28-Nov-24 14:13:02

I totally agree. I have no respect for either of them. Cruel and entitled.

I've no idea about his book.
In fact, I've no idea what on earth I'm talking about, any of the royals, know nothing about any of so I had better butt out smile

Me too- just don't get why anyone would be interested in these free-loaders.

Anniebach Thu 28-Nov-24 13:30:54

Diana said - it wasn’t Camilla Charles was having an affair
with but Tiggy Leg-Bourke, she also said Tiggy was pregnant
Diana was going to be sued but the late Queen stepped in and the Leg-Bourke’s didn’t sue
Harry is ok with this, he attended Tiggy’s wedding and is Godfather to her child .
William and Harry adored Tiggy, Diana was so jealous, as she was with the nanny and got rid of her .

Daddima Thu 28-Nov-24 13:26:38

Charles did not say - What ever love is, his reply to a question

- whatever in love means Big difference

This is one of my (many) bugbears. Even ‘Rock’ Burrell misquotes it, along with his account of how horrified she looked, when she did nothing of the sort.
People forget he was raised never to talk about one’s feelings, so was probably embarrassed by having to comment at all.

Very bad people both of them. People on here defending them how would you feel if you're daughter got engaged as a virgin to a man, a staunch Church goer, who told her he didn't love her the night before the wedding? Then she found out he was having an affair with a woman she'd had lunch with and he'd invited to the wedding? He'd bought her a bracelet during this time, rang her on the honeymoon, and their private sex conversation was in the press for all to read!
I would feel devastated that my daughter had married such an evil man. After he divorced her, having got 2 children to carry on the family name, the main reason he married her, he then married his lover and made her queen. Two disgusting people imo

So, may I ask how you got the information that he told her he didn’t love her the night before the wedding?
Also, how do you know exactly when he was having an affair, as it sounds like you are saying he was having the affair at the time he bought the bracelet?

Anniebach Thu 28-Nov-24 13:01:18

Princess of Wales, Beatrice and Eugene York, Megan Markle
married in white gowns

Couldn't agree more

Me Too... absolutely agree with all you said

Philippa111 Thu 28-Nov-24 12:36:06

Let's not forget that Diana was used to produce heirs for the royal family. Charles was already ' in a relationship' with Camilla. So I think it's fair enough that Harry should not feel good about Camilla.

She got to married to Charles in a white dress... the symbol of purity... what a travesty!

I think Diana's behaviour was very appropriate as the result of having been used.. anyone would have a big response to that.

And who could she turn to but the press when the Royal family essentially ignored her!

Seajaye Thu 28-Nov-24 12:18:17

Quite frankly I'm not a particularly avid royalist, but you have to had it to Camilla, she's stepped up to the not inconsiderable plate , and is getting on with the job and not complaining. I know I wouldn't have wanted to take on her job at her age. She must be exhausted the time.

Boring Ch 4 lazy programming.

Anniebach Thu 28-Nov-24 10:46:18

He was the longest serving Prince of Wales in history,

Well I still occasionally call the King Prince Charles.

When they say "The Prince of Wales" has attended somewhere on the news, my first thought is Charles.
