Camilla, the Wicked Stepmother?

Channel 4 again, last week it was William and Harry, now Camilla ?

Of course he will remember his mother fondly, over and above anyone else.

The programme showed how the press spun the story about Harry going to visit a rehab centre by altering the timeline to make Charles and Camilla look good, all the journalists on the programme agreed that this is what happened. C & C have always put their own desires above everyone and everything else to the extent of crowning her queen when the the real Queen expressed her wish that Camilla be queen consort, C & C have both behaved despicably for decades.

When I hear ‘the queen’ mentioned I still think of Elizabeth ( and not Camilla.). It will take me a while but expect to get there in the end.

When I first heard that the Queen had attended somewhere or another,,I couldn't work out what was going on.

I think any young person who loses his mother in such a way would remain loyal to her, she seemed a very caring mum and constant criticism of her must hurt both her sons.

C & C have always put their own desires above everyone and everything else to the extent of crowning her queen when the the real Queen expressed her wish that Camilla be queen consort, C & C have both behaved despicably for decades.

Camilla is Queen consort and was crowned as such which is what the late Queen wanted. The same as her mother was crowned Queen consort when George VI was crowned King. Both are/were referred to as Queen. It's their position descriptively that is Queen consort.

When she and Charles married, it was said that Camilla was to be Princess Consort, and would have been referred to as Princess Camilla, but, at her jubilee, Queen Elizabeth said it was her ‘sincere wish’ that Camilla be Queen Consort, meaning she would be referred to as Queen Camilla, so C&C were not ‘putting their own desires above everyone else’, they were doing what Queen Elizabeth wanted.
The Queen Mother, as wife of the King, was also Queen Consort, and always referred to as Queen Elizabeth.

Regardless of that, I still couldn't work out how the Queen could be attending anything, and it still mildly surprises me when I hear it.

Camilla like the late Queen mother, Queen Alexandra and
Queen Mary - Queen consort known as Queen, the late Queen would have known this, her mother, grandmother and great grandmother!

She was crowned Queen Consort as was the late Queen Mother. That's normal when you are married to the King.

William seems more mature about it but I suppose he has a more realistic view of his mother who like all of us was a mix of good and bad. Perhaps being slightly older made a difference.

That goes without saying, I'd think.

There's no reason why that can't be his truth.

It's not denigrating Camilla in any way.

In fact, I've no idea what on earth I'm talking about, any of the royals, know nothing about any of so I had better butt out

I always remember Diana's face at their engagement when Charles made the comment "whatever love is". Im the same age as Diana. I think it's lovely Charles is at last with the woman he always loved but I think it's unforgivable what they both did to such a young girl. I know she wasn't blameless in what happened after the marriage broke down but this business of making Camilla out to be something other than she is turns my stomach.
As I say, it's lovely to see King Charles and his 2nd wife so happy but some people have very short memories

I do wish people would check their facts before launching into their own version
The Queen is patron of The Guild of St Bride , not of St Brides Church and in this capacity has attended services to commemorate journalists, camera-crew and support staff who have lost their lives on the frontline
St Bride’s Church is located on Fleet Street and considered by many to be the spiritual home for journalists throughout the world. The church contains the Journalists’ Altar commemorating those who lost their lives reporting the news
The connection with journalists indeed stems from its proximity to the former centre of the newspaper world in Fleet Street. But that does not mean that only journalists ever worship there or that they all do.
