Great actors and much hype. Very disappointing though. I watched the first episode and gave up. I hated the whole premise of it and thought the characters were horrible.

I felt the same Farzannah. I liked the styling too

I just loved it. I know there is a lot of violence but I just interpreted much of it as a spoof with plenty of black humour.
I think Sarah Lancashire is brilliant.

This is odd as my dd came to see us today and recommended it. We thought we would see it tomorrow but I thought she said it was on Amazon Prime.

I watched it until episode 3 when I decided I'd had enough of violence and bloodshed. I also had difficulty in trying to see Keira Knightly and Ben Wishaw in such bloodthirsty roles.

Agree with Retread - not a patch on Slow Horses. Can’t believe I wasted 6 hours of my life on B.D.

One episode left to watch and I'm still asking myself why ? Why am I still watching and why don't I turn it off?

Despite a stellar cast I’ve been very disappointed with Black Doves. I did finish it. I couldn’t understand what the Irish girls were saying most of the time. Style over substance. Despite the main character being a spy at risk of death on a daily basis and her husband a Govt minister they appeared to have no help at home with their kids.

Yes meant to add, inspite of the implausibility enjoyed it. OH ,is hoping for a follow up. Not as good as Slow Horses he tells me but nearly.

Yes unbelievable rubbish, London looked wonderful though, they must have filmed it last year. I like some of the Christmas scenes with the children "stirring the Christmas pudding" interspersed with the violence. Good cast, really like Ben Whishaw, Sarah Lancashire and Keira went to my kids school so that's a good enough reason for us to watch it.

I enjoyed it more as it went along. Totally unbelievable rubbish but enjoyed the London scenes.

Awful, no light and shade. Only shade. Beautifully filmed but too bleak for me.

Stopped watching after the totally unnecessary perverted sex scene. I thought having Sarah L in the cast meant it would be good. Awful.

I enjoyed it as a piece of Christmas/ spy/ gangster/domestic hokum, entertaining if I don't take it too seriously. Enjoyed the Christmas soundtrack. 🎶🎵🎄
It reminded me a bit of Diehard ( original), opening / closing with a popular Christmas hit.
Good cast.

... and it's good to see a mature woman in charge (Mrs Reed) instead of a man running the operation.

I'm enjoying it.
It's not supposed to be realistic - it's like James Bond films, or like the series called Spooks that was on years ago.

It is watchable, mainly with London as a character.

As for the gay sex scene and the casual drug references - totally superfluous to the story...

Have watched the first episode, I think it will grow on me.

Love London at Christmas

Just finished last episode. There are some surprising twists at the end. Really enjoyed it,especially filmed in Christmas time London. Nothing like seeing spies up Oxford street !
