At last the new series has arrived. I don't know why I love this programme but I do!

merlotgran Thu 19-Dec-24 14:57:31

Me too. I don’t know why I love it either as Mel and Jack really irritate me but I’m just about to grab a cuppa and a mince pie and….I’m going in!

JudyBloom Thu 19-Dec-24 15:02:10

I have rejoined Netflix purely to see the new series of Virgin River ! :-)

Mt61 Thu 19-Dec-24 15:04:42

I like it too but she grates on me, I prefer his ex

Aveline Thu 19-Dec-24 15:12:05

I really like Mel and don't understand why Jack is somehow a handsome hero figure.

Visgir1 Thu 19-Dec-24 15:15:19

I gave up with the last series, it got too far fetched. I used to like it
Might try this one sure they will up date.

I watched the first of the new season with my lunch - now I'm on 3!

Stopped otherwise I'll have finished by dinner time grin

Beechnut Thu 19-Dec-24 15:55:07

I’m saving it for the weekend 😃

I have decided not to bother with it any more. I find several of the characters irritating, and the story lines so unbelievable for such a small area!

Aveline Thu 19-Dec-24 17:31:47

It's such a beautiful huge area. I want to live there in one of the lovely houses or cabins. I could pop to the drs easily, sew with the ladies at Jack's bar and enjoy Preachers cooking there too.

LauraNorderr Thu 19-Dec-24 17:37:36

Ooh yes. I’d love to join you at Jack’s Bar Aveline, putting the world to rights with the other ladies, a bit of gossip and one of Preacher’s specials.
Beautiful scenery all around, what’s not to love.

merlotgran Thu 19-Dec-24 17:41:07

I’ll join you both. What a lovely place to live.

Aveline Thu 19-Dec-24 17:45:46

Right we'll need to organise a GN trip to Virgin River!

I'm rationing myself to 1 a day preferably in the afternoon with a hot drink. Bliss.

Juicylucy Sat 21-Dec-24 11:25:54

Oh me to I love it. It seems like it’s taken forever for this series to land. So looking forward to hunkering down and watching it.

Jean1010 Sat 21-Dec-24 12:36:25

Virgin River is my guilty pleasure, I am rationing myself to two episodes a night after my better half goes to bed. I definitely couldn’t watch it with anybody else in the room, it would ruin the programme, as I know some would find it too “cheesy”.
The scenery is so beautiful and the lifestyle looks so laid back it’s pure escapism for me.
I follow Martin Henderson on Instagram and I occasionally get requests from his account asking to follow me. I am very sceptical that this is actually him so I never accept a follow request, besides if it is him, he would be bored to death following me as I have posted pictures three times in about five years.

Greyduster Sat 21-Dec-24 12:44:08

It’s mine too Jean1010. I’ve watched it from the beginning even though I didn’t think it was going to be my “thing”. I’m looking forward to starting the new series this evening.

Greyduster Sat 21-Dec-24 12:47:33

Right we'll need to organise a GN trip to Virgin River!. Good. Sign me up! and tell Doc I’ll be bringing my fishing rod!

cc Sat 21-Dec-24 12:55:44

He's actually looking much more attractive in this series I think!

Aveline Sat 21-Dec-24 13:22:56

I just wish he'd shave occasionally. Even on his day in court he hadn't bothered.

4allweknow Sat 21-Dec-24 13:24:16

I've been watching The Resident awaiting Virgin River. TR really makes you appreciate NHS no matter the state it's in.

Puzzlelove Sat 21-Dec-24 13:25:05

I like Virgin River, the other ones I like on Netflix are

Sweet Magnolias
Ginny and Georgia
Chesapeake Shores

Mt61 Sat 21-Dec-24 14:03:45

Can’t believe that young girl is so happy with her pregnancy (boy friend has huntingtons). She clearly doesn’t know the implications of that disease 😩

vegansrock Sat 21-Dec-24 15:15:37

Amazing that Doc seems to have miraculously been cured of his eye condition and he now can treat horses. And the grandson seems to be unaffected by his genetic disease. Easy cheesy viewing a bit like Emily in Paris.

Emeraldforest Sat 21-Dec-24 15:20:48

The characters annoy me, mostly, but it's still compulsive viewing!
