Anyone watching this ?
I really enjoy this programme and I m looking forward to this new series
Did it come up to your expectations last night, a little twist at the beginning getting some folk off the train but will they be back??
Have they chosen the right traitors ? I am just trying to get the various names in my head I saw Linda’s reaction on Claudia’s word ‘Traitors’ and thought, ‘ah ha’ but didn’t realise it had been seen by any of the others (but it had)

I wonder why Lisa even applied for the game because if she couldn’t lie she would have found it tricky being a traitor.

BlueBelle Fri 10-Jan-25 13:56:09

I m another who has trouble with names some I remember straight away others I struggle to remember at all

Patsy70 Fri 10-Jan-25 13:37:56

Really sorry to see Kaz voted off. I’m having difficulty remembering all the names! 🙄 Hopefully, Linda will go soon.

Farzanah

I agree with you keepingquiet about bias against older players

Yes, this has been true in the past, too. Having said that, Linda is hopeless, and now that Lisa has said that her vows won't allow her to lie she has put her head on the block, I think. Maybe she has less chance of being banished, as the faithfuls are hunting the traitors, but she is a prime target for murder.

I think the contestants seem particularly gullible this series. They seem to attach too much importance to certain players whilst ignoring others. I haven't even got to know some of these background players yet. Of course, the series is edited afterwards so really we should be able to pick up the clues as viewers too.
I don't think Linda will last long now- she is making too many slips and I think the bias against older contestants is obvious. I do think some of the challenges should be cerebral and not always physical as this obviously favours the younger players.
I am rarely on the side of the faithful as they often lead each other astray because they have poor focus on the 'quiet' ones. They don't seem to rely on their own instincts but on a herd mentality, this is why the traitors succeed.
Anyway it's easy to judge.
I am still a fan. I don't think its any nastier than previous series but it is an inevitable part of the game-play, and I sense why we enjoy watching.
I feel sorry for Freddie who is also a victim of bias being the youngest. I sense he may be voted off next because of that other player whose name I can't recall.

Farzanah Fri 10-Jan-25 12:31:32

It seems the brightest ones are banished of by the traitors because they are a threat. The faithfuls also get rid of them because they can’t work them out! I think Minah is going completely under the radar and she may win.

I found what we saw of Kaz being sidelined to be quite unpleasant.
My husband said "if I was him I'd be pleased to get out of there".

Parsley3 Fri 10-Jan-25 11:41:49

Kaz says that people stopped talking to him and there was evidence of it in the clips shown on Uncloaked.

Doodledog Fri 10-Jan-25 11:36:24

Who has been shunned?

I can never remember the names of contestants in things like this, as many of them are only there for a few episodes, but I can't remember anyone being shunned. Kas got a bad time, I thought, but it often happens that strong voices at the round table can turn people against a character. Annoyingly the most interesting people tend to be voted out early as they are seen as dangerous. It must be very difficult to work out who the traitors are, as they are randomly chosen. I never understand why people try to base it on character traits, as they have nothing to do with it.

Parsley3 Fri 10-Jan-25 10:55:04

Well, this is the nastiest series so far. I don't recall a participant being shunned in other series.

I wonder if it was planned in advance for the 3 train evictees to volunteer with the promise of some kind of financial bonus. It made no sense that one from each carriage volunteered to leave before they’d even started.

Doodledog Mon 06-Jan-25 13:48:31

I think the train people will get some sort of advantage, but can't work out what it will be, as obviously all the others know who they are, and they can't be told who the traitors are if they are to get a chance to win money at the end.

Been a fan since the first series along with my oh. Loved the NZ version and the US one. Not so keen on Aus 1 however Aus 2 was brilliant as all the faithful were completely clueless - they definitely didn't understand the show - and the series was cancelled after.

It will be disappointing if the first three who got off train don't get another chance. Maybe the faithful will get to decide if they want them back or not.

Another fan! I love this programme and have even got OH hooked despite neither of us usually watching reality progs.

Aveline Sun 05-Jan-25 21:26:37

Such a long wait till the next episode sad

Okdokey08 Sun 05-Jan-25 21:24:59

Love this programme, have raved about it to all my friends from 1st series. I’ve watched the Us one and the Australian one, British one the best, more authentic id say. Armani set herself up to go, and glad to see the back of her to be honest.. Linda turning her head on the word “traitors” dead giveaway and well spotted by Jake, who’s bound to be “murdered” . I think the masked cloaked figures coming in on the horses and carriage, are the 3 who got off the train.. as there was a reference to railway track. I’m hooked

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 05-Jan-25 21:05:07

I’ve watched ep.1 of series 3tonight.
It’s brilliant!
I’ve never watched any reality shows/game shows before and I’m hooked!
I shall binge watch 2 & 3 tomorrow,

Doodledog Sun 05-Jan-25 15:34:23

Yes, the numbers thing is often a red herring on reality tv. They can evict more than one at any point if they need to even things up.

Cressida Sun 05-Jan-25 15:16:18

The implication at the end of episode 3 was that the train 3 were on their way back in the 'rail replacement' coach.

In the first series there were 22 competitors but only 20 went into the castle in the first programme. The other 2 were 'sent home' but re-appeared later in the series.

I'd love to see the Traitors told the 3 were due to arrive on the coach and they had to choose one to be a traitor (without any extra information about them.) Don't think it will happen though.

BlueBelle Sun 05-Jan-25 14:57:34

Word is that the train three don’t get another chance because UK only ever has 22 competitors and there would be 25 if they came back
We ll have to see I can’t really see why anyone would sacrifice themselves like that personally Different if they’d drawn lots or done a game or something but just a hand up seems daft on their part

singingnutty Sun 05-Jan-25 14:24:42

I know what people are saying about the shrieking, but it convinced me, when Armani said she was a Traitor, that the proceedings are not rigged and manipulated due to the reactions. I am new to it, so not quite sure yet how it all works.

Doodledog Sun 05-Jan-25 10:39:22

Me too. It would be a bit like that episode of the Likely Lads until I could do so though- the one where they didn’t want to know the football results grin

ayse Sun 05-Jan-25 10:38:06

It’s the only reality tv programme I watch from beginning to end and I don’t mind waiting until the next week for new episodes. I’ve tried watching the Ed Gamble thing after but it doesn’t float my boat. If it was a “Celebrity” version, I wouldn’t be watching it.

Yes, I’ve noticed all the girly shrieking and I find it irritating.

This year’s version is interesting. There seem to be more individuals motivated by greed an less willing to take social action.

I just hope as others have said, that those that got off train will be returning and maybe the dynamic will change. You could almost say that reality tv is a social experiment and could be picked over to learn more about human behaviour.

NotSpaghetti Sun 05-Jan-25 10:36:42

I would prefer to binge-watch it, Doodledog
