Very good the first two programmes, a painful watch in parts.

It was an uncomfortable watch for me. The abuse of old and vulnerable people quite shocking.

Too uncomfortable for me too. Too near to home.
So I watched Wallace and Grommit (vengeance most fowl) on iplayer.

I agree, it was an unsettling theme. I really liked the two new people at the Lyell Centre though.

Unnecessarily gruesome and horrible subject.. I'm not keen on Silent Witness.. and how many professionals would tolerate their boss playing a piano whilst discussing a case..

Farzanah Thu 09-Jan-25 10:00:53

I thought the programme, which I used to like, and make allowance for its inaccuracies, has become far removed from any semblance of reality.
Rubbish in fact.

Poppyred Thu 09-Jan-25 10:08:29

An elderly lady with her piano as the Boss? Very unlikely…...

Allira Thu 09-Jan-25 10:44:43

Well, it is completely unrealistic rubbish anyway but if you suspend belief and watch it as fiction it was quite good.

Delila Thu 09-Jan-25 11:23:50

It was unnecessarily gruesome.

Delila Thu 09-Jan-25 11:26:15

Sorry Pascal, I see I’ve pinched your phrase….

Ilovedogs22 Thu 09-Jan-25 11:27:52

I think it's fascinating but I preferred Amanda Redman plus I cannot stand that drippy, blooming 'Fox' woman
Another Nepo brat. 🙄

Visgir1 Thu 09-Jan-25 11:53:28

I too thought it was uncomfortable to watch. But I did, glad the old fella got revenge.

Amanda Burton?

Deedaa Thu 09-Jan-25 20:30:54

Amanda Burton always irritated me, all that long, meaningful gazing into the distance - and of course French and Saunders really finished it. I like all the cast and don't mind how unreal it is. I just like following the clues.

Allira Thu 09-Jan-25 20:34:46

It is very irritating because a forensic pathologist and a forensic scientist rush around acting like police officers, whereas the actual DI stands around doing nothing much at all.
Then we have a couple of female police officers straight out of a Carry On film.

Suspend belief and enjoy 😂

As a long time fan of Silent Witness, I switched off at this point.

Allira Thu 09-Jan-25 20:38:37

Is she the boss?

Or an analyst?
What, who, why?

Aldom Thu 09-Jan-25 20:52:32

The 'elderly lady' is the new professor.

Allira Thu 09-Jan-25 20:56:32

Professor of what?

Aldom Thu 09-Jan-25 21:19:05

Allira probably forensic pathology. Possibly another related science, but as I switched off before any background was disclosed I can't really be more specific.

Allira Thu 09-Jan-25 23:24:58

Thanks Aldom

Not Professor of Music then. 😀

Allira Thu 09-Jan-25 23:30:20

I've just found out who plays the DI - Sean Pertwee, thought I recognised him but couldn't place him.

Shez1955 Thu 09-Jan-25 23:47:24

Is it me or was it really gruesome? I had to look away quite a few times.

Same here. The romance stuff is annoying.

Farzanah Fri 10-Jan-25 09:22:10

I doubt many forensic pathologists can watch this c**p. They contaminate every murder scene they attend.
