Any recommendations for a bit of escapism or good nail biting dramas?
Have just watched MISSING on Netflix ..very good with a daughter using her tech savvy skills tries to find her mom who goes missing on a holiday with a new boyfriend…

We're just getting into North Shore on ITV/ITVX, which stars Joanne Froggatt - two episodes down, 4 more to watch and probably going to binge tomorrow.

Have you tried The Twelve? There are two series, both starring Sam Neill, courtroom dramas that are very involving, especially Series 2.

We have just finishing watching The day of the Jackal . Absolutely amazing 10 episodes in this first series and a second one to come. Eddie Redmayne is the Jackal and the detective chasing him is a black actress who I didn’t recognise but she is brilliant too

If you don't mind subtitles we have just watched Cra on iplayer. It's an Irish language crime drama. Enjoyed it.

Have seen the Twelve - very good
Day of the Jackal- fantastic
Cra- great
Will give North Shore a try

Just watched the Pope’s Exorcist with Russell Crowe - horror but it’s a bit dull- don’t think it comes anywhere near the original film The Exorcist from the 70s - Don’t think Russell will do a part 2… it was soo bad
But hopefully The Conclave will be streaming soon as do like some of the actors

I've just finished watching Hidden Assets on BBC I player. Two series set in Ireland and Belgium.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.

You can't beat Slow Horses on Apple. Brilliant performances all round.

Yes, I can recommend North Shore.

Just watched the Pope’s Exorcist with Russell Crowe
Oh dear, was it not good?
Russell is a very versatile actor but I'm not keen on psychological dramas.

Ad Vitam NetFlix worth a watch

Just watched "Back in Action" Film on Netflix which is a light hearted thriller I'd say very watchable 3 out of 5.

I'm always on the look out for a good thriller that hasn't got horror in or is where there are nasty "psychological" turns.

Quite keen on crime procedural - an old one "Runaway Jury" is best fave on that one.

What is a "best thriller?" I like the Bourne series.

North shore was brilliant I binged watched in one evening x

I'm watching Vera on ITV catch-up
It's brilliant! Lots of episodes & each one is 2hrs long.
So if you like a convincingly acted & well -crafted detective series, then it's well worth a watch. Even her Hat plays the part very well. 😊

Love vera I’m gutted it’s ended but I’m happy to rewatch older episodes

I can definitely recommend both series of The Twelve on ITVX, and North Shore on ITVX, and also Breakthrough on Netflix.

I thought Departure Season 1 on NF was better than Season 2.

I’m enjoying White Lies on Ch 4. It’s set in South Africa with some English actors.
Like most of these series a bit of a stretch on reality at times.

I'll second The Twelve (series 2). I was hooked.

Just watched Crá on iplayer (as mentioned above set in Ireland) I enjoyed it and didn't guess whodunit!

I thought The Day of the Jackal was very good - though very violent. Usually I turn off if a film is violent but Eddie Redmayne was so brilliant in it.

I thought a series called The Tower was very good.
