Thanks for that. I'm always looking for something to watch and I love period dramas.

I have never watched "Family at War" but I looked it up on INDB just now and an amazing number of well known actors were in it. Surprising as it only ran from 1970 to 1972.

Among many others, were Benedict Cumberbatch's mother and one of the Dr Whos.

I discovered Barbara Flynn in the Beiderbecke trilogy (written by Alan Plater) and loved the whole series enough to buy VHS recordings of it, then DVDs (which I've watched so much that the soundtrack is wearing out). I didn't see A Family at War first time round, so thanks for the notification!

Do you have to pay to see it please?

Thanks for the heads up on that. I’d like to watch.

I enjoyed the bits I saw, I was a student and didn’t always have access to a TV. Not like the students of today!grin

Yes, it was an excellent series.

Barbara Flynn in one of her earlier roles.

The opening and closing music, plus images of the beach, very moving.

Just had email from Talking Pictures TV( TPTV on Freeview)
From Saturday 22nd Feb at 8pm, they are showing the whole series again.
They did a few years ago.
I will rewatch as one of my favorite dramas of the 70s (even tho i was still at school)
