Anyone else enjoying Vanessa being on during the day at 1pm. I find her fascinating and she speaks at lot of sense and stands no nonsense from her callers. Normally she is only on at the weekends. Hope she stays.

I find her somewhat full on and wonder what she is on at times!

Sheila Fogarty is wonderful, but I am afraid that Vanessa Felz makes me feel very uncomfortable. She sets me on edge. Probably since all the lies about losing so much weight naturally just with willpower and she lied about having gastric banding.

I can't stand Dan Walker due to the fact he lied to his daughter about women's part in WWII. the small girl had asked why there were no women's names on a memorial. He decided to lie and say there were many female pilots. He could have been honest and explained how brilliant the women had been, how they'd fly the planes to where they were needed, but no. He just made some waffle up which she will find it to be untrue.

He hadn’t wished to expose his two daughters to the ‘grim realities of pre-20th century gender relations’.

Maybe he should have taken her to see the war graves all over Europe.

Women transport pilots were killed doing war work including one Amy Johnson who died in the Thames estuary after being shot down.
She heard to cry out to the search and rescue boat
Please come quickly.
More recently it has been suggested the delay was deliberate so as not to give information to the enemy with lighting up the craft and location.

By the way Sheila is back this week.
So perhaps it was not planned leave.
Or she's been reading GN and getting concerned at preference expressed for VF.

welbeck Tue 28-Jan-25 16:39:37

Shelagh not Sheila.
Sorry. Irish spelling.

Thepanaramawoman Tue 28-Jan-25 16:43:50

I like her too but she must have improved with age because I didn’t like her years ago when she was on that morning show, I think she took over from Kilroy.

Like LBC especially Nick Abbott and Clive Bull. Dislike James O'Brian. He likes the sound of his own voice and will not let callers speak.

BlueBelle Tue 28-Jan-25 17:04:12

Ii don’t really like Vanessa or her voice she always comes across as rather condescending although I m sure she’s a clever woman much prefer Sheila who talks sense in a less preachy way
I like Ian Payne early morning except when he gets hung up on sport or films

Not a lady I would listen to.

NotSpaghetti Tue 28-Jan-25 18:15:51

Vanessa Feltz is just very annoying she doesn't strike me as very bright either to be honest.
She isn't as rigid as Shelagh Fogarty who bullies people by pushing her opinions it seems to me.

I wouldn't choose to listen to either of them!

NotSpaghetti Tue 28-Jan-25 18:16:40

Yes, BlueBelle - condescending.

lilydily9 Tue 28-Jan-25 18:33:03

I thought she was OK before watching her on a series of Celebrities Go Dating. She was really rude to some of the dates set up for her and came across as very entitled.

whywhywhy Tue 28-Jan-25 18:37:20

Not
Keen on her but wish her well.

bathsalts Tue 28-Jan-25 18:56:34

And she's obviously very intelligent

That'll be the double first in English Literature then?

I love her.

Strictly didn't work for her though.

knspol Tue 28-Jan-25 20:30:50

Like several others I much prefer her to Jeremy Vine.

NonGrannyMoll Tue 28-Jan-25 20:35:27

She's a real survivor, is Vanessa.

Goldieoldie15 Wed 29-Jan-25 03:57:31

Can’t stand her and her grating voice and her supercilious demeanour. Simply awful.

mae13 Wed 29-Jan-25 04:36:21

Ms Feltz's style is too over-the-top and excitable a lot of the time. I couldn't bear her when she was doing a BBC breakfast show - it was a case of "calm down dear!"

Anniebach Wed 29-Jan-25 04:59:48

I don’t like her voice and yes, very over top

Parsley3 Wed 29-Jan-25 08:39:18

I find her style of presentation very forced, and I can't listen to her for long. To me she sounds like she is jollying on a class of sluggish pupils. I am relieved that Shelagh is back soon.

blue14 Wed 29-Jan-25 08:49:37

Shelagh is due back today.
I listen to LBC quite a bit.
My favourite presenters are Ian Payne, Ben Kentish and Tom Swarbrick.
These three respond well to their callers and appear to be understanding and kind people.
