I love watching black and white films on u tube on my I pad, the last one I watched had Bette Davis in it she’s a brilliant actress. I watched Casablanca recently. I wonder which one I’ll watch tonight?

‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner’. Hepburn, Tracy and Poitier - what a combination. I’d forgotten what a great film it is.

And I managed to find the 1937 b&w version of ‘The Prisoner of Zenda’ (has to be my favourite film) with Ronald Coleman, David Niven and Douglas Fairbanks Junior. It also had that Hollywood stalwart C. Aubrey Smith. Romance, stiff upper lips, and a jolly good sword fight at the end!😁
I also watched recently John Wayne in ‘She Wore a Yellow Ribbon’ - the best of the John Ford westerns I think. I watched it with my son when he came down - I think we both had the script by heart!

Brief Encounter. We watched it showing at the local cinema on Valentine's Day, the first time I had seen it on a big screen, and it was as wonderful as ever.

Brief Encounter is a brilliant film .
I've watched it over and over again and loved it each time .
It introduced me to Rachmaninov !

Whistle Down the Wind with Hayley Mills and Alan Bates.
I was taken to see it when it first came out, which I think was 1961, when I was 10. Lovely, lovely film.

I love to watch The Philadelphia Story with Gary Grant and Katherine Hepburn. I also like a lot of films I watched as a child or with my children like both versions of the Parent Trap.

I remember going to a full cinema with my sister in law, in the 70s, to see a double bill of Imitation of Life and Madam X.
They were regarded as classic movies then, very melodramatic and tear jerkers.

I love It's a Wonderful Life at Christmas. 🎄
