I'll go first ๐Ÿ˜€

I've watched Episode 1 of the Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle show on Netflix (a relaxed half hour over an early lunch) I enjoyed it! It's very beautiful in Montecito where they live, the camera loves her, she's a working wife and mother ... what's not to like?

I'll run for cover now... ๐Ÿ˜

I just saw a snippet online. Why isnโ€™t her hair tied back, was my only thought.

Her hair is tied back sometimes. Anyway sheโ€™s doing home cooking, I donโ€™t tie my hair back either in my kitchen. And sheโ€™s barefoot some of the time ๐Ÿ˜›

Rula Tue 04-Mar-25 16:20:50

I'm always barefoot in the kitchen.

Rula Tue 04-Mar-25 16:21:08

But her hair is problematic.

Cossy

Ooops Harry not Garry ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Ooh Cossy, you made me laugh/snort out loud in a very
un -ladylike fashion today!
Garry indeed! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‚

Were the dogs roaming in the kitchen too?
Mine do! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Rula

But her hair is problematic.

Why is her hair problematic Rula??
She's cooking at home not in a professional kitchen.
Do we put our hair -up just to cook dinner for our family?
Does the awful Mr Ramsey wear a chef's hair?
Does the hugely pretentious Nigella Lawson don a hair bobble?
No they don't.
I wish people would stop picking on Harry & Megan, it's downright mean & mostly media -led.
I think you are just splitting hairs. ( Excuse the punny!) ๐Ÿค”

Anniebach Tue 04-Mar-25 16:50:07

Ilovedogs you never criticise any celebrity?

Ilovedogs22 Tue 04-Mar-25 17:17:44

Yes Anniebach of course I do, as you have probably noticed.
I just feel that Harry &Megan are unfairly criticised for anything & everything they do. ๐Ÿ˜Š
William ect, can do no wrong but H&M are simply bait for the often biased & vicious tabloid press. It's very unnecessary. ๐Ÿค”

Anniebach Tue 04-Mar-25 17:22:53

My criticism of them is caused by what they say and do,

Usedtobeblonde Tue 04-Mar-25 17:23:02

The Daily Telegraph arenโ€™t too enamoured of the programme.
I canโ€™t comment as I havenโ€™t seen it and wonโ€™t be.

Rula Tue 04-Mar-25 17:25:46

Why does cooking at home, (and she's not at her home), mean it's ok to have your hair dangling all over the food? I had long hair when younger and on one occasion one of my hairs was wrapped around a dumpling. Quite an awful thing to experience. Hairs in food, even mine, ate repulsive.

Rula Tue 04-Mar-25 17:27:21

Do we put our hair -up just to cook dinner for our family?

Yep. Certainly. Tie it back if it's long
It's simple.

Meghan's hair is tied back in the show when she is actually working with food! So any debate about her hair is pointless.

Come to think of it, I've never seen Nigella in her cookery programmes with her hair tied back.

No it's not! Maybe in some clips but not all.

Honestly!

There are three articles in the DT today plus a plug for the programme on Netflix; they are amusing, not overly complimentary but why three articles about this silly woman who is promoting packet pancake mix?

I don't have Netflix, have no desire to see them, and if I watch cookery programmes I like to see an expert demonstrating or a cookery competition, preferably with disasters.

kircubbin2000 Tue 04-Mar-25 17:36:54

Tell the truth! It's mind numbingly awful.I had to fast forward before I dozed off.

Ilovedogs22 Tue 04-Mar-25 17:39:08

Ohhh I think that if Kate was cooking with her hair all over the place it would be perfectly acceptable for a lot of Gransnetters?!?
I really don't understand why poster's are only having a dig because it's Megan?
I think Harry's mother would turning in her Grave at all the negativity & malice directed at her younger son's little family. Very sad, leave them alone.๐Ÿค”

Sparklefizz Tue 04-Mar-25 17:39:44

I watched 15 mins of it to see what all the fuss was about, and all I can say is that if I have trouble getting to sleep one night, this is the remedy.

Cossy Tue 04-Mar-25 17:40:14

Iโ€™m afraid the criticism is entirely justified.

No, she surely is pleased , she and Megan communicate, Harry has spoken of this several times, hence Megan had Diana photograph in the birth room when the son was born

Calendargirl Tue 04-Mar-25 17:44:54

I donโ€™t have Netflix, so canโ€™t watch it.

If I did have NF, would definitely give it a go.

(Mind you, the long hair would annoy me as well).

I donโ€™t like to see anyone cooking with hair hanging all over the place, and that would apply to Catherine as well as Meg.

Boz Tue 04-Mar-25 17:49:16

It is a tad desperate. An actor worth their salt would not be reduced to hamming up what many, many mothers do daily in families the world over, and with a clear conscience that they havenโ€™t stung so many โ€˜closeโ€™ relatives along the way.

Ilovedogs22 Tue 04-Mar-25 18:21:48

Meow!

It sounds as though lots of people in America will enjoy it and I wish her well. It sounds totally harmless.
I cook a one pot pasta dish in my remoska ... chicken, tinned tomatoes, pasta ... cover and cook then sling in veggies at the right times. It is delicious and simple and cuts down on washing up.
