I'll go first 😀

I've watched Episode 1 of the Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle show on Netflix (a relaxed half hour over an early lunch) I enjoyed it! It's very beautiful in Montecito where they live, the camera loves her, she's a working wife and mother ... what's not to like?

I'll run for cover now... 😁

The Chief Impact Officer leads on fundraising, social value and impact measurement, evaluation, learning, programmes, and partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders to successfully affect systems change.

Chief Impact Officer | Starfish Search

I don't know what he does/did, but I recall that the title caused some wry smiles.

PS. This is the first time I've managed to log onto GN when something juicy is happening!
I usually miss it all!
Hope I'm not deleted now! 🤣

I’ve just been round to a friend Retread and watched the first two. We thought the first episode was very boring wth the sort of My my and man child act but we laughed and laughed at the second one, mostly because of Mindy Carling.

They were quite hostile to each other, playing top dog, at the beginning but Meghan kept pouring the cocktails and as Mindy got a bit squiffy she got funnier and funnier in her comments. She really played up to the camera.

Go Mindy! We’d watch another episode with her in it and definitely a kind of Mindy Carling at Home thing - like the Osbornes used to be😂

Think the watchability definitely depends on the guests and how they react.

😄

Remember the discussion we had on here years ago? 🍆

No, I don't 😁

I thought it might be a specialist zookeeper.

Is Harry in Japan now?

There are chimpanzees in Japan but they're not native.
However, now we've got the picture facility back, I thought you'd like to see these macaques

Anniebach 👏👏 Vanessa was fantastic!

merlotgran Thu 06-Mar-25 18:16:43

Thank you, Anniebach

Best laugh I’ve had in ages. 😂😂😂

Lathyrus3 Thu 06-Mar-25 18:25:16

Ok, something’s gone wrong. It’s been boiling away for ages and the spaghetti is all stuck together🙁🤷🏽‍♀️

Megan has lied often, fact,

Strangely enough, I have just seen a clip of her on another show talking about her meals when she was a child being ‘very much from farm to table’. So, no microwave dinners then.

I take it you’re not feeling the joy?

That's not a skillet, tho', is it?
Just a common or garden pan?

Or have I got the wrong recipe?

Sparklefizz Thu 06-Mar-25 18:50:39

Thank you Anniebach - loved Vanessa.

Will your darling children be eating it?

Lathyrus3 Thu 06-Mar-25 19:13:19

I don’t have a skillet -not even sure what it is actually- so I thought my frying pan would do. Hers looked just like spaghetti but yes maybe it should have been noodles?

I had to use jiffy lemon not fresh, but actually I do think a bit of lemon perked it up

I separated the spaghetti with a knife and fork and in the end it was ok. I’ve eaten worse.

About as joyful as my cooking gets I’m afraid.😬

Vanessa has a double first from Cambridge. Always thought she was funny, erudite and resilient. Unlike some.

Isn't a skillet just a different name for a frying pan?

I prefer frying pan.

We recently cancelled our Netflix subscription because we couldn’t find anything to watch that we liked. I don’t think I’ll renew it !

I’ve just watched the first episode. The only bit that interested me was the amazing view at the end.

No wonder she didn’t want to live in Windsor under the Heathrow flight path. 😂😂

It’s not her house though, she rented somebody else’s home to film the series.

Yes I know that but apparently it’s in the same district.

Elowen33 Thu 06-Mar-25 23:38:03

I didn’t see the programme so cannot comment on that.

When I cook dried pasta in a sauce I put it in the oven, have not tried it on the hob.

I enjoyed the first episode. Very relaxing and feelgood. Will be watching more.
