Corrie continuation!

Thought I’d start a new thread as the other one is full. Nothing to say really at the moment because I said it at the end of the last thread. Hopefully we can carry on with our Corrie moans!

DeeDee will end up keeping the child, the story, in my opinion, is heading that way.

Where do prisoners charge up their illegal phones?

I hope that Lou stays in the nick because I cannot stand her.

How long has Dee Dee had an open top sports car?

🤷‍♀️

I didn’t know she had a car at all, let alone a sports car. I suppose she is necessary to the plot at the moment but I find her wooden acting and permanently miserable face depressing to say the least.

I find DeeDee intolerable but she is not the only character on Corrie I feel that way about.
The writers deciding to give her a child was another daft story.

Devorgilla Sat 12-Jul-25 19:37:40

After last night's episode I see Lou being in the 'nick' and the kids being with Sally and Tim. How convenient is that! I assume Mick is about to be broken out from prison. Meanwhile Brodie, who has some potential, rattles around like a lost soul. Please tell me football, tennis et al is now finished!

Charleygirl5 Sat 12-Jul-25 18:50:01

Calendargirl The way these non-realistic stories are going, the end may be sooner than we think. I also watch every episode, but I have no idea why. I know my brain is addled, but I have a good idea of what goes on in real life and we do need some of that.

Calendargirl Sat 12-Jul-25 17:46:49

My sister gave up on Corrie about a year ago, and is quite superior now because I still watch it, albeit moaning about the storylines.

I tell her it will be 65 years old in December, and I intend to stick with it until the bitter end.

Crossstitchfan Sat 12-Jul-25 16:27:21

I agree with you about the Social Worker, Grannynannywanny, but to be honest, the storylines on Corrie are getting more and more pathetic by the minute. I have no idea how they can rescue it. It certainly won’t be with that pathetic pair, Carla and Swain. They get more irritating by the minute and could do with acting lessons!
The stupid thing is, I moan about it all the time, but I STILL keep watching it! I know it’s rubbish but I can’t let go! Goodness knows what that says about me!

Grannynannywanny Sat 12-Jul-25 15:27:30

We can expect more angst/tears/snot from DS Swain when Maria will no doubt accuse her of not taking her seriously when she voiced her concerns about Gary’s disappearance.

I’m thoroughly fed up with Deedee . I hope she makes her visit to Glasgow a long one. Still not a social worker in sight despite little Laila being rejected by her mother and passed on to her uncle who now considers himself her dad.

James has certainly stepped up to the plate and I’ve warmed to his character. But the entire scenario is so unbelievable. Deedee met with a social worker before the birth and made it clear the baby would be placed for adoption. Surely that social worker would be back in touch.

Doodledog Sat 12-Jul-25 15:05:32

Why hasn't Gary or Maria alerted the authorities (or at least the nursing staff) about not being Chesney, and thus being a victim of something-improbable-but-almost-certainly-dodgy, as Chesney Winter-Brown is a real person living round the corner and personally known to him?

Mind you, if 'the authorities' consisted of Swain and Kit, I'd be dubious about entrusting the care of Mr Dog into their hands, so. . .

Where do the residents keep their cars? A cast member will say 'I'll get my car', and they appear with it, but where are they parked?

Rosamund Street?

The Precint?

The car park at The Flying Horse?

Webster’s Autos?

Kit was supposed to ID Gary, and he said it was somebody else. Have I missed something?

I thought it was at least watchable tonight, but I'm easily pleased. I hope it is on Monday because I feel shortchanged.

Well, it was someone else. It wasn’t Gary. Another missing person. 🤷‍♀️

Calendargirl Sat 12-Jul-25 07:42:46

And where does Dee Dee live now? They all seem to sofa surf with neighbours, but then they rock up in a sports car….

Lauren now miraculously has a flat, though she rarely seems to be minding her own son, just marches about looking stroppy all the time.

As for dreadful Lou, who never has any money to buy food for ‘Joanie and Shanice’, but can pull out a fiver for ‘frothy coffees’.
Doesn’t Audrey’s have a kettle?

She only seems to remember she has children when it suits. Why is Sally always looking after them?

I thought last night’s episode was better, but also felt I had missed things, the storyline seemed to jump about and just assumed we, the viewers, knew what was going on with hidden bits and bobs.

I was glad Gary knew Maria and remembered things, I was worried he would think ghastly Lou was really his wife.

Totally daft storyline though.

I was just looking for Friday's episode on itv player as I missed it. Couldn't understand why it was not there and then realised it had been cancelled for football. Corrie's not on again until Thursday, I believe. Others are right, we do need a dedicated sports channel, there's so much of it on now, especially since they atarted showing women's football.

Crossstitchfan Sat 05-Jul-25 18:04:41

I’m in total agreement, Bluebell and Charleygirl5.
It is very unfair, but they’re doing it for the money. Never mind the faithful viewers. We don’t matter at all.

Charleygirl5 Sat 05-Jul-25 13:15:43

I think it is unfair to take over the main channels, especially on a Saturday evening. For me, there is nothing.

To whom can one complain?

When it does return, Birdbrain will have forgotten the previous episodes.

BlueBelle Sat 05-Jul-25 06:59:37

I don’t personally think Gary is anything to do with Kit
and don’t start me off on football I switched on to relax with Emmerdale and Corrie to find bloody football (and Wimbledon on all night)

Why oh why can’t they have a dedicated sports channel
I really for the first time ever don’t feel like paying my TV licence

Charleygirl5 Fri 04-Jul-25 22:54:09

Doodledog I have no idea because I switched off mentally. For some strange reason, I do not think Kit injured Gary, but I have no idea who did or why. If I paid more attention, I might have a better idea.

Doodledog Fri 04-Jul-25 19:47:09

Don't get me started about the football.

What's the deal with Gary? Do we know what happened to him (I am guessing Kit is responsible, but I don't know why) or is it all lost in the drug-addled haze? I lost interest in the drug episode, so paid even less attention than usual.

Charleygirl5 Fri 04-Jul-25 19:43:22

When is Corrie returning? I had no idea tonight's had been cancelled. I have a feeling it will be next Thursday, but let's face it, football should always get precedence!!!!!

If that is the case, I hope she does not leave him there totally alone. I have lost the plot. I had no idea she was the last person Gary may have rung

She may not have been, I was just letting my imagination run free 😆

I think it is a possibility though as they did appear to be becoming close.

Sarnia when Lou’s phone rang I was expecting it to be a call from the hospital as her phone may have been the last number Gary dialled.
