Thought I’d start a new thread as the other one is full. Nothing to say really at the moment because I said it at the end of the last thread. Hopefully we can carry on with our Corrie moans!

Devorgilla Tue 01-Jul-25 12:16:17

Todd, give up Theo - he's not a 'keeper'. James would be so much better.

Devorgilla Tue 01-Jul-25 12:14:31

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Steve the ex son-in-law so, if he and Cassie shack up together in Ken's house, surely that will cause problems if Ken dies and Tracey inherits? At the very least, it should give us some good scripts when Steve, Cassie and Tracey fight it out even with Ken still alive.

Charleygirl5 Tue 01-Jul-25 10:18:03

Reminder: Corrie is only being shown next Thursday and Friday due to "rescheduling arrangements". I imagine it is more football.

Doodledog Tue 01-Jul-25 07:31:22

Didn’t George move into what was Glenda’s place, but belongs half to him? I don’t know about Mary. When Eileen left there was a reshuffle though. Does she still own it?

Theo and Millie treat Todd very badly considering they are squatting in his home. I really hope Todd throws them both out sooner rather than later. How old is Millie meant to be? She looks about 27, but she is treated like a child.

Calendargirl Tue 01-Jul-25 07:18:49

I felt like giving Millie a good shake when she moaned her bed was too soft.

Little madam!

Why do we only see her, Theo and Todd at the house now? Where are George and Mary?

Surely they must need about four bedrooms, unless Mary shares with Millie, or even George?

Doodledog Tue 01-Jul-25 00:00:40

Yes, a triumph of hope over expectation, I fear grin

Charleygirl5 Mon 30-Jun-25 23:14:19

Doodledog I have a suspicious feeling that we live in hope!

Doodledog Mon 30-Jun-25 21:43:40

Todd and James would make a good couple. DeeDee needs to make her mind up whether she wants the baby or not. I hope they don't draw out the Todd/Theo thing for long. Millie and Theo are both dreadful, and we really don't need another dysfunctional relationship on t'cobbles. A little bit of happiness would go a long way.

Grannynannywanny Mon 30-Jun-25 21:07:31

Finally the truth is out about Millie’s fake pregnancy despite her attempt at more manipulation and lies to turn Theo against Todd.

Poor Todd. It looks like Theo is going to show a nasty, controlling side to his character. I hope Todd manages to break free of him and gets together with James.

I’ve lost all patience with DeeDee and I’m finding her very annoying.

LovesBach I agree but other episodes have been dire.

LovesBach Sun 29-Jun-25 21:56:31

This is the problem - the cast can speak only the dialogue they are given, good actors or otherwise, and over the last few months some must have cringed when they read the scripts. That said, there have been some examples of better writing in the last few programmes - perhaps we can travel hopefully.

If Maureen Lipman comes back, she might just save the ailing Corrie. Something needs to - it’s going down the pan fast!

Bukkie Sun 29-Jun-25 10:16:10

Good news about Maureen Lipman returning. It's not just her one liners that are great but her common sense too. I love her put downs of the woken lefty youths.

Charleygirl5 Sun 29-Jun-25 09:44:42

That's good, I do enjoy her one-liners. I only hope the scriptwriters are up to enjoying her sense of humour, but from recent offerings, I doubt it.

vegansrock Sun 29-Jun-25 05:48:10

Ive read that Maureen Lipman is coming back so thats one bit of good news.

Love Sue Devany at least she’s still in for a good while 18 months at least I like Ronnie too that was lovely last night really well done Corrie, but no I can’t warm to Cassie she’s way too loud and obnoxious I hope Steve marries her and they disappear on a honeymoon and never come back
Where’s Ken is he upstairs where all the children usually go

Yes Bukkie we need little Dorian back he could knock the socks off most of them especially Liam and Jack

LovesBach Sat 28-Jun-25 11:31:22

Bukkie

LoveBach - I completed agree with you, Sue Devany is a great actress. We have seen her do comedy and one liners for a long time and she is brilliant at that. More recently her serious acting and heartbreaking denial and gradual acceptance of her condition have been superb. I know they have to give a storyline of this importance to someone who can actually act but what a shame we will lose this great actress eventually. Her and Ronnie would have been brilliant landlord and landlady of the Rovers.
I too have warmed to Cassie, I have never had a problem with Claire Sweeney, I have liked her in most things she has done. I saw her in Hairspray on stage many years ago and she was great. We need Dorian back, he can act most of them off the screen.

I thought her performance in 'dinnerladies' was first rate - always in a hurry, asking for about twenty slices of toast, and the little Christmas dance she did with another actor was so funny. I do hope she gets plenty of work when her sad story reaches its inevitable conclusion.

Crosstitchfan We would need to hire a bus, and I agree about Cassie. I do hope Steve does marry her and she settles down in Corrie.

I would add Carl, Nina, Dylan, Brodie and Mary to my list. There would be few left after I had culled most of them.

Crossstitchfan Fri 27-Jun-25 23:29:44

I’d contribute to that as long as they take Cassie with them!

Charleygirl5 Fri 27-Jun-25 22:47:04

Is it just me, but most of the females are turning blonde and I'm now getting them muddled.

I thought Debbie acted well tonight and I hope she and Ronnie are not on the cards to leave.

I would pay to see Theo and Millie leave.

LovesBach Fri 27-Jun-25 22:44:16

What a touching reconciliation between Debbie and Ron - Sue Devaney is such an excellent actress. She would have made a first rate landlady for The Rovers; madness that she is being written out.

Calendargirl Fri 27-Jun-25 20:47:26

Can’t believe I’m writing this, but Cassie hasn’t been in for a while, and after Theo and Millie, well, she doesn’t seem so bad somehow.

Even her and Steve in a relationship doesn’t bother me really.

I must be mellowing.

Calendargirl Thu 26-Jun-25 17:42:09

Brodie certainly resembles Kit. Quite good casting.

I don’t ‘warm’ to him, however, at least not yet.

I think we all agree on how irritating Carla and Lisa are, mooning over each other one minute, then snapping away and flouncing out the next.

Half baked storyline, totally unrealistic relationship.

BlueBelle Thu 26-Jun-25 17:39:53

I think Brodie like Mason could be a good character he is misunderstood and mixed up and hasn’t had a decent role model in his father I think with a good home and a decent father figure he may come out ok ……( Tim? )
