Thought I’d start a new thread as the other one is full. Nothing to say really at the moment because I said it at the end of the last thread. Hopefully we can carry on with our Corrie moans!

BlueBelle Wed 30-Jul-25 20:29:31

Oh dear half time and tonight’s it’s worse than ever
The Todd/Theo story is such a 🥱

Crossstitchfan Wed 30-Jul-25 16:27:59

Oh please not!

Bukkie Wed 30-Jul-25 13:34:41

I think the new Lily is more like the daughter Kylie would have. Perhaps they are going to explore her emotions from losing her Mum so young.

Dev’s acting is even worse than before he went to India - unbelievably bad. Cringey. I feel so irritated when he’s on screen. He can’t act for toffee. Go back to India please - you and your fiancée aren’t suited anyway. As for Todd/Theo in the back of a steamy windowed car - I felt disgusted. Not because it’s sex between 2 men, but why can’t the producers leave it to our imagination? Too much information. And what happened to the 9.00pm watershed? Does that still exist? I know that very few children will watch Coronation Street these days (although I used to watch it when I was a child in the 1960’s - it was actually family entertainment then, not so much smut, violence, corruption). I don’t why I still watch it, but I do. Habit I suppose. I actually still enjoy watching it some of the time!

Sam gives me the creeps

Aveline Tue 29-Jul-25 19:57:14

He'll be in the young offenders asap. They have to use that set.

BlueBelle Tue 29-Jul-25 18:56:06

Can we all chip in we could get him there quicker ?
I don’t personal rate Sam s acting and that whispery voice irritates me The new lily seems a good child actress though more believable than Sam

Charleygirl5 Tue 29-Jul-25 18:47:35

He has also had a growth spurt. I do like him and he is a good little actor, unlike so many of the adults but one gets what one pays for and money is tight.

I would happily contribute towards Dev's flight to India, provided Aveline takes charge.

Doodledog Tue 29-Jul-25 17:14:26

They do at his age. His voice is breaking too grin

Charleygirl5 Tue 29-Jul-25 14:37:53

Sam appears to have had a personality change. Ah well, I did not write the scripts.

Doodledog Tue 29-Jul-25 09:55:04

I agree with BlueBelle. Every word.

Soz, Aveline, but can you take him back to India and see out your twilight years in blissful happiness?

I must have missed what happened to Sam too, Bukkie, but both he and Lily are very mixd-up children. Sam is annoyed because Lily locked him out of a safe classroom with a maniac on the loose (and remember his mother was murdered), but Lily's mum was murdered too. Maybe she was scared for her own life, but it did seem to be done out of spite.

Bukkie Tue 29-Jul-25 09:32:22

I always think it was ridiculous Mary had to move out of Dev's because it was getting cramped but she then moved into the even more cramped Eileen's. I can't work out where they all sleep and Sean and Dylan lived there too at one point. Dev could have had a loft conversion for Mary. I feel I have missed something with Sam. Why is he behaving like this with Lily? What he did with the furniture was cruel and he needed more of a punishment.

Charleygirl5 Tue 29-Jul-25 09:07:13

Clawdy thanks for that, I was unsure.

Squirming together on the rear seat was nauseating and unnecessary. Why do I watch it?

LovesBach Tue 29-Jul-25 09:02:02

The Todd/Theo scenes were stomach turning and unbelievable. No idea where they were supposed to be, but to get into the back of a car for sex in broad daylight, and when a neighbour is on his way to sort out your car, and could arrive any minute, was beyond ridiculous.

Sarnia Tue 29-Jul-25 08:41:19

I am looking forward to Auntie Rani arriving. I am hoping she will be an Asian version of Evelyn with a good dose of Blanche and Ena thrown in for good measure.
I wonder who is going to play her character?

Clawdy Tue 29-Jul-25 08:33:53

Yes, the Todd-Theo snogging scenes are so cringey. Wonder how the two actors find them as both aren't gay in real life!

Nansypansy Tue 29-Jul-25 08:33:11

I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s sickened by Todd and Theo … I can count 9 characters on Coro at the moment who are either gay or bisexual … far too many in my opinion and I’m tempted to not watch Coro any more

BlueBelle Tue 29-Jul-25 07:08:37

I ve absolutely no problem with sex with two people in love male female or whatever No problem with gay sex but I am sick to the back teeth of the Todd and Theo squirming around together
Todd with the big eye love sick look and Theo with the flashing Turkey teeth make me feel ick
Never felt that with billy and Paul These two don’t fit together and just don’t come across as nice at all and it’s so over cooked

Dev was beyond annoying please, please send him back to India or into Avalinesarms but off our screens He’s not a bad looking guy but his acting is so over the top he’d do much better as a pantomime dame His wife and children must squirm when he’s on

Calendargirl Tue 29-Jul-25 06:19:17

Was I the only one to find the Todd/Theo debacle in the car practically unwatchable?

And then dragging poor Tyrone into it?

Theo’s kissing is absolutely awful. I assume it’s to show passion, but he just looks like he is trying to swallow Todd.

Totally yucky? And the way his hair flops about…..

Charleygirl5 Mon 28-Jul-25 22:35:08

Aveline is the only person who can listen to and look at him. The vast majority of us preferred it when he was on holiday or wherever.

To think he is paid for that performance.

Crossstitchfan Mon 28-Jul-25 22:22:53

I would give a lot to see the back of Dev. The actor is getting worse, so is his dreadful whining voice. Could someone please give him some acting lessons, closely followed by elocution lessons? He is unbearable to watch and listen to. I have subtitles on when he’s on now.

Aveline Mon 28-Jul-25 20:46:34

Well I've had a brilliant idea. I've got the part as Auntie Rani so I can mess up the wedding and see off that Bernie. Dev will be so stunned when I throw off my disguise! I can't wait.

Charleygirl5 Sun 27-Jul-25 23:27:44

That's true, Mary has not mentioned it, and she could have made a few £££ if she sold it.

I spent my childhood holidays in a VW camper van, which is what my parents had. I am too old now to consider using a mobile home, and it would have steps to get in, so that is a no-go. Perhaps I will stay here and make do with an NHS falling apart around me.

Doodledog Sun 27-Jul-25 21:43:16

Is Mr Aveline an irredeemable rogue? If so, assuming he would like to mend his ways, he could possibly get a social prescription to live on the Street. He will be running Neighbourhood Watch and standing as Mayor in no time.

As a side effect of this new leaf, he will be very busy in the evenings, and you might have to fall back on the corner shop and the occasional kebab for sustenance and takeaway gin.

Aveline Sun 27-Jul-25 16:41:30

Maybe you could rent Mary's mobile home Charleygirl? She seems to have forgotten about it.
