New series of the Northern Ireland Home of the Year on iplayer. Not as good as Scotland Home of the Year but as I’m addicted to this sort of programme I’ll have to watch it. Even with Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen in it.

When you are in the bath no one can see you? Just getting in and out but if you have a towel or robe to wrap yourself in what's the problem?

I'm now imagining hordes of people walking past peeping in...

I’m currently obsessed with the series The Great House Restoration on BBC. There are 5 series of it and it shows houses in Ireland that have been restored. In Ireland you can get a 75,000 euros grant to restore a building if you do it in a certain amount of time ( can you get things like that here; if not why not?). What I like about it is that it delves into the history of the house and the people who lived in it, a bit like A House in Time. The last episode of series five actually had me in tears. Anyway I really like the presenter who is well known in Ireland but I’d never heard of him. Hugh Wallace I think he’s called. However the point I want to make is that, when googling him I found out that there has been an Ireland Home of the Year going on for years ( he presents it). And although I can’t access via Irish tv ( well, I could with an app but it isn’t very secure) there do seem to be lots of episodes on utube. So for anyone who loves Scotlands Home of the Year as much as I do there are, I hope, lots of similar programmes on utube. I could be gone some time…

I’ve just heard that Hugh Wallace died suddenly at the weekend. Having binge watched as many of his programmes as I could find I was so looking forward to seeing any future programmes he would make.I really feel as if I’ve lost a friend. He’s a national treasure in Ireland. He was lovely sad.

New series. Can anyone explain to me why anyone would have a bath in front of a full length window ( not one way either). Why lie in a bath looking at the view when everyone else can get a full length view of you, too?

We've had houses so far distant from the neighbours, they couldnt see you naked through the window. Not that anyone in our family would care if they did.

I wouldn’t mind clear glass at that house, but I hated the toilet being next to the clear glass window in one house we lived in.
Even if you pulled the blind down, your seated outline was visible from outside, especially at night.

We have a bathroom with clear glass because the view is absolutely breathtaking. We can see enjoy it whilst we clean our teeth or potter around in there.

Only the shower can be seen from the outside and we pull the blind down when we use it.

The house on the TV show was overlooking the sea wasn't it? You've have needed to take the ferry and use binoculars to peep into the bathroom.

We vewed a new build house near here years ago and the bathroom had plain glass. It wasn't an isolated property, there were about six in the development.
We never knew if it was a mistake or not.
