I found this as a source of light relief away from the conflicts going on in the world and in this country. It is about three couples who live in a seaside town on the East coast and their ups and downs; the females of the couples are Alison Steadman, Paula Wilcox and Stephanie Beacham, the males are Philip Jackson, James Smith and Russ Abbott who I remember as a comedian from years ago. There are also occasional appearances from June Whitfield who plays Stephanie Beacham’s mother.

I watched all the episodes, gentle comedy rather than laugh out loud. That’s the good thing about Netflix as it offers both old and new films and series.

This sounds like a delightful escape! A lighthearted series about seaside town life and relationships is exactly what's needed. It reminds me of the simple joys you can find in io games; quick, easy fun. The cast is fantastic – I especially remember Russ Abbott from his comedy days. Yes it’s an old BBC series. I remember it being quite cringy.

June Whitfield died at the end of 2018 so it must have been made at least six years ago.

It was on a few years ago, BBC I think.

Are Netflix buying up old stuff from them?
