We seem to have several threads about various shows watched and sometimes recommended with few comments. I wondered if it would be a good idea to have a general thread we can all post suggestions on. A bit like the Corrie one but wider variation.
For example, I have just binged watched two series on Netflix which I really enjoyed - 'Unseen' and 'Secrets we keep'. Thoroughly enjoyed both. If you are looking for a new series why not give at least one episode a go. So hoping for a second series for 'Secrets we keep'.

Im enjoying the 4th series of Clarksons farm, went to the diddly sqaut shop a couple of years ago amazed how small it is.
Ive also watched Cilla on netflix seen it before but enjoyed it again.
Sheridan Smith is amazeing ,she sings all the songs on the film.
I found myself singing along.

JamesandJon33, just finished the first season of Deadwind. Very good. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for the tip. Are the other seasons as good?

Have watched season 2….sad

Anyone else watching 'The Survivors' on Netflix? A limited series and an easy watch, even if it does touch on delicate topics.

I would recommend The Gold on Bbc1. The second series has just started. Also Joan which was on last year on ITV.
If you don’t mind less recent offerings Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise are excellent.

Another Department Q (Netflix) fan!

I can’t get into this series, perhaps I should persevere?

We started watching Burden of Truth last night, it’s on STV player, which is free with adverts. Looks like it’s going to be worth continuing watching.

Just popped on to give another vote for Department Q.
Strong characters, intriguing story and some weird sets - urinals! but a warning for the squeamish it’s quite violent.

For fans of 'The Traitors', the latest NZ one started on iplayer BBC3 last night. On all week, I think. The first NZ one was the best of the lot and I have high hopes for this one.

I really liked Dept Q . Hopefully there will be a second series .
I’m about the start the second series of The Gold , loved the first one .

I just finished watching The Last Anniversary on BBC iPlayer, it is set on a fictitious island in the Hawkesbury River, New South Wales and is about the mystery of a young couple who disappeared decades ago leaving a young baby behind. I really enjoyed it. Prior to that I watched the second series of The Gold, about the police trying to recover the gold taken in the Brink’s-Mat robbery in 1983, very good as was series one.

And another one here! Hope there’s another series.

I wish there was another season of Dept Q as I am about to run out of my latest binge. I binged the whole of Deadwind, all three seasons, and hope another is in the making. Excellent.
Now bingeing The Traitors NZ. You have to hand it to the NZ producers, they really know how to do twists. Every bit as good as their season 1.
Now I will have to troll this thread for another inspiration. Thinking of Malpractice, and have to finish 'The Better Sister'.

I didn’t expect to like DeptQ as I don’t like gritty dramas, but ended up glued to it. I’m a big fan of Matthew Goode and this was a bit of a departure for him, I think. I hope there’s a series 2.

The “Walter presents” are usually very good. And one is educated in the troubles and violence in other countries…

Devorgilla Sun 29-Jun-25 17:56:16

For those of you who enjoyed the first two series of The Squid Game', the new episodes are now on Netflix. Yes, it's violent, but I enjoy looking behind the scenes at the concept of poor people being manipulated by a few very rich people for their amusement. Quite frightening actually in terms of how many people today are taken in by promises of a better life as long as they do .......????.....

Season 3 of The Gilded Age has just started. The two previous series are on catch up.
If you liked Downton Abbey this is also written by Julian Fellowes and follows families in New York in the 1880s.

I binge watched Outrageous on U all about the Mitfed sisters and throughly enjoyed it. Set in the 30's and before 2nd world war.

Devorgilla Sun 13-Jul-25 21:49:54

Just started watching The Breakthrough on Netflix. So far promises to be good. About a double murder and the search for the killer. Subtitles. So far not especially violent.

Granmarderby10 Mon 14-Jul-25 03:33:59

Little Fires Everywhere is a stand alone series of 6 ( or may have been 8) episodes it starred Reece Witherspoon but all the characters were engaging, not too shallow but not too deep either.
On Chanel 4 catch-up.

'This City is Ours'. Brilliant series! Best TV for ages.

Mix Tape

I read the book a while ago and recommended it on the book forum. I have just found out that the BBC are showing a four part adaptation starting on Tuesday 15th July.

I really enjoyed the book. As you can probably guess from the title, it involves music. The music is from the 80's/90's

I hope the series lives up to the book

I didn't realise The Breakthrough was only 4 episodes so have already binge watched three. Thanks for ideas of what to go on to.
