Been an emmerdale fan for many years but am seriously considering giving up on it. Too many horrible characters, John,Robert and Joe , Nate’s murder , etc. no lighter moments , all doom and gloom.

Grannynannywanny Tue 09-Sept-25 08:24:34

I had managed to avoid any spoilers. When I realised they were close to a gorge it was obvious someone was going over the edge. But I was shocked at John taking Aaron with him.

If only Robert had phoned the police when he got back on his feet after the struggle with John. I suppose it’s possible he did and we’ve yet to see it. But it’s more likely the only police call will be John’s and it’s placed Robert in the frame.

Poor Mack. How will they find him now 😱

Thanks, but I was meaning why is Robert asking Eric or indeed anyone about John's mother. I only ever remember John saying his mother was dead.

love0c Tue 09-Sept-25 08:39:34

Ah, just googled it! Ha ha. It appears I missed the bit where John told Robert that Eric knew where his mother was and intimated she knew of secrets!!! John had told everyone else that she was dead. John playing on Robert! I must have switched off during that conversation. All getting daft IMO.

I’m really hating this April storyline. Think I might have to stop watching.

Lollin Tue 04-Nov-25 20:02:27

I’ve been feeling that way too Ellie Anne just watched tonight’s episode after avoiding it for a bit and , well , goodness me, that was powerful as they say, but more to the point it’s been showing a side of life out there that thank goodness I only know of through the newspapers. It shows how wrong it is to victim blame and to question why someone doesn’t come forward for years or decades or ever. Sad

fancythat Tue 04-Nov-25 20:03:56

I stopped watching it about 3 months ago.
Started rewatching recently, but not sure how long I will be around for it.
I fast forward the April storyline.

Good morning everyone this thread seems to have dropped out
Is anyone still watching Emmerdale ?
I just wanted to say I think Lewis has played a blinder lately , what a great actor he is He is showing us all with such great skill how difficult life can be for an adult with autism I know it is natural for him but I think he has played the part so sensitively and really showing the down side as well as the positive side
What a lovely chap Do I see a little romance on the horizon

Bridie22 Fri 21-Nov-25 07:08:48

Im still watching Bluebelle, Lewis is a great actor and portrays his needs very well, loving crazy Kev!!!
But it must be time for the drugs saga to come to an end, its just boring now, they will maybe save it for a Christmas special.

dogsmother Fri 21-Nov-25 09:26:59

A lot of ridiculousness and I’m cross with myself for being invested with nothing better to do but “ just one more look” to see if anything happens tonight. I must remind myself it’s a soap!

Elless Fri 21-Nov-25 10:07:38

I've been away for a few days and caught up on two and a half hours of Emmerdale last night - what a farce it has become. Can't stand Kev walking round like a Liam Gallagher wannabe with his hands behind his back pointing in peoples faces all the time and the April storyline is ridiculous - she looks about 12! Liam being dragged into an armed robbery 🙄 need I go on.

Dottydots Fri 21-Nov-25 11:58:42

Bear still has all his marbles, so why doesn't he just walk away.

sodapop Fri 21-Nov-25 12:28:38

I'm still watching BlueBelle although feeling a bit cynical about some of the story lines.
They do try to cram all life's social problems into one short programme.
I like Lewis as well and he plays the part well.
I agree with you about Bear Dottydots.

Ellie Anne Fri 21-Nov-25 20:36:08

Too much nastiness and sadness now.

Allsorts Sun 23-Nov-25 07:29:29

Agree Ellie. Wish they would get some different writers for Emmerdale and Corrie, the current ones are ruining them. Such misery and violence.

Grannynannywanny Sun 23-Nov-25 08:25:42

I’ve been a loyal Emmerdale watcher for more years than I can remember. Some evenings now I wonder why I stick with it. The scene with the hapless GP Liam being duped into driving the robbery get away car was farcical.

I knew as soon as he got in the car with Kev what was about to happen. I’m sure they copied the scene from an episode of Father Ted.

Then we have the the never ending dark storyline of April and Dylan that needs some kind of conclusion .

The people trafficking story in Cynthia’s turkey farm is horrendous. I thought when Kim appeared on the scene she’d uncover what’s going on. But she seems to have met her match in Cynthia and she bid a hasty retreat.

Ellie Anne Tue 25-Nov-25 19:51:39

Where is cain these days ?

Allsorts Fri 28-Nov-25 07:08:50

Cain has probably left them all to it! So depressing now.

Calendargirl Fri 28-Nov-25 07:12:58

I haven’t watched Emmerdale since the days of Matt and Dolly Skilbeck (think that was their names) but looking at these last few comments, it really looks on a par with Corrie, the only soap I do watch now, and I frequently wonder why I even bother with it!

BlueBelle Fri 28-Nov-25 07:21:32

However I think Bear is playing a good part and although I can’t quite understand where the fields are n relation to the village surely they are not that far out for him to recognise where he is However having said that I do think it’s a decent storyline and one that needs telling as it is happening in real life and doesn’t get brought up very often to the public I also think Dylan and April s is a good storyline too as it’s a very prevalent problem in our society April is so tiny and looks so unhappy always Life isn’t a bed of roses for many young people and after all it is supposed to be reflecting real life (albeit all in one tiny village)
I m sure it ll lighten up for Christmas and perhaps everyone will be ‘home’

Grannynannywanny Fri 28-Nov-25 08:32:15

Poor Bear is brainwashed and isn’t aware that he’s in close proximity to Emmerdale village. He seems to have developed a psychological dependency on the vile Ray and thinks he’s his friend. Last night he scuppered the escape plan by tipping him off.

However, it’s frustrating to see the turkey farm is just across the fence from Moira’s field. She is financially invested but hasn’t even set foot in the place. Likewise Paddy the vet allowed Celia to fob him off when he visited to do a welfare check.

Grannydaisy1 Fri 28-Nov-25 08:36:30

karma I love the pattern for the rag doll. I hope you enjoy making it and post a picture when it's done

Grannydaisy1 Fri 28-Nov-25 08:37:53

Sorry wrong thread

Nannee49 Thu 11-Dec-25 16:21:02

I hate the daftness of many of the Ray/Celia storylines. Why would drug barons/traffickers/all round nasties only in it for the money be living in that minging farmhouse kitchen in a property they don't even own but rent off Kim?
Why has nobody wondered why murdered "family man" Callum's disappearance hasn't been reported all over social media as it surely would be IRL?
Why didn't Marlon, Rhona and April collectively give Celia a good, hard bash with that stick she swaggers about with, tie her to a chair and phone the police with the evidence of poor Dylan's hit and run handy on her phone and giving them the tip off to raid the minging farm kitchen to reveal all the bad goings on?
Why is my blood pressure rising as I even write these imaginary scenariosconfused. I really need to invest less and get out more!

BlueBelle Wed 04-Feb-26 22:27:01

Emmerdale was superb tonight Cain s acting was excellent he nearly had me in tears He did a great job

BlueBelle Thu 05-Feb-26 06:59:30
