I watched one episode of this new show last night, I don’t know how I got to the end.

Edmonds come across as a vain, self centred, immature and arrogant.

How anyone could compare this to Clarksons farm is beyond me.

Has anyone else seen this show?

I thought he had retired in this country until I also saw the trailer. It was enough for me, I would prefer to watch paint dry.

He is 76 and it does not appear he needs the money so why not have a peaceful life?

Because he’s still full of ideas and has a we/I can do it attitude to life, which I love.
Give me him above those who think that life stops at retirement.
That’s one of the reasons he chose NZ.

I watch it because it's set in glorious NZ and because the whole premise is so weird. He takes his enormous wealth to a very different rural society on the orher side of the world, throws his money at it, and its (very) slowly dawning on him that his plans might be totally inappropriate (on multiple levels). The locals are pretty divided between those who shake their heads disbelievingly and those who eagerly enable the latest ridiculous demand because he pays them so well in an area where many businesses have gone bust already.

Is it a Bad Thing for a hugely wealthy older man to make himself and numerous employees very happy by spend spend spending it like crazy ? While entertaining the locals, and me, in a schadenfreude way.

Nit feeling it hubby likes to watch it. He comes over very self righteous.

Allira Wed 02-Jul-25 16:58:21

Well, according to Devon Live, people were thrilled to see the much-loved TV presenter at a venue in Cornwall recently.

I've never met him so couldn't possibly comment!

windmill1 Wed 02-Jul-25 16:54:36

Has he improved since his association with Mister Blobby?

Allira Wed 02-Jul-25 16:50:05

farmgran You certainly don't want Mr Blobby moving in next door! 😯

I never liked him when he was on tv here in the UK. I think he is, as others have said, a show-off, full of himself and totally unbearable. I tried to watch it, but in the first 7 minutes he made several sex-related comments and came over as the prat he clearly is. I couldn’t bear to suffer any more and binned it. What an obnoxious man. He has got even worse since he left UK tv and I have got better things to do with my time than sit through this rubbish. What tv boss authorised this dreadful programme? I hope they got the sack as it’s an embarrassment, even more than that twerp is, and that’s saying something.
Ye gods - I didn’t think tv could get any worse but I was proved wrong!
If he wanted to emigrate, fine, but if he wants to leave the uk, I wish he’d do it properly and stay off our tv screens. How dare he ditch the uk that helped to make him famous, and then start contaminating the tv of another country? Poor New Zealand!

You enjoyed it , then, Crossstitch fan !!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I can truthfully say that I have never watched a single Noel Edmonds programme in my life.
Just one of those things , nothing that he did ever interested me.
Although I imagine if he met me he would probably think the same about me.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I liked things like "Tiswas"

I have heard the similar comments as
FARMGRAN made about him, from a lady who knew him from his TV show "Telly Addicts". Apparently obnoxious, rude man, who was not at all friendly to the contestants or other members of the TV crew.

Makes you wonder if his reputation caught up with him?

HeavenLeigh Wed 02-Jul-25 14:57:34

Never been a fan so won’t watch

I don’t think you need to change your username as it was interesting to hear your account. I’m sure most people agree with you.

I certainly do, for one!

BlueBelle Wed 02-Jul-25 14:50:27

The trailer put me right off

Not a fan so wouldn’t watch any more NZ you’re welcome to him You got my very hard working son so you got to have some axxx s too

I really liked him in his Radio days. He was an excellent DJ and TV presenter. Watched this shows first episode though and thought it was hilarious.

He's got plenty of money and seems to be happy in his new life. I didn't find it particularly entertaining though watching a very much man spending and making money. I'm not bothering with the rest of the series.

It does not compare to Clarksons' Farm.

I realise I'll have to change my username after writing this but here goes. I live just up the road from Noel Edmonds and his cafes and wellness centre. He's had very mixed reviews round here. Having someone trying to be lord of the manor and thinking he can bring some life to Ngatimoti does not go down well around here. Hard working farmers and rural people take a dim view of that sort of thing.
On the face of it he appears to be friendly and affable but he's been known to switch to being a bully and unpleasant.
Its sad to see his wellness centre devastated by the flood tho.
Theres only one good thing to come out of this flood which has caused an enormous amount of damage to a large area, and it will hopefully stop his rich cronies from coming and living here and causing our rates to go up.

Does your statement about being loyal to your country, or deserving the mess you’re in apply to all those who emigrated to NZ and are now having problems, it just to Noel Edmonds?

My comment was just about Edmunds. I have no knowledge of others who have emigrated, so can’t comment on them.
As with anything else, there are people who do things correctly, and people who don’t.
Edmunds is one of the latter. I think he and his comments are in danger of giving the UK a bad name.

Some of my family have emigrated. One might come back 😀
Other members of the family are immigrants.
Perhaps they should swap around. Oh, that would mean cousins marrying cousins. Perhaps not.

Our family members have been emigrating for centuries, must have itchy feet.

I turned him off when he made a crass joke about cock and pussy for the loo doors

Only an immature prat would make such comments. At his advanced age, too. What an overgrown schoolboy he is. Can’t stand him.
Perhaps he could leave and take the dreadful Clarkson with him. They could make a programme together and could call it ‘Two tw*ts abroad!

Actually, annoying though Clarkson is in some ways, he does shine the spotlight on the difficulties farmers face in this country, and in fact in other countries too, faced with so much government bureaucracy, the vagaries of the seasons, climate etc.

Yes, he is cushioned by wealth but doesn't sugarcoat it and make it sound like an idyllic country hobby.

Allira Wed 02-Jul-25 10:17:26

I saw the trailer and thought that I hadn't realised he'd left!

I just found it boring - I was hoping for more on New Zealand and less on Noel Edmonds! Having said that, I have always been very sceptical about 'new age' treatments - crystals, oxygen tents, hot stones, whatever. It must be said though that he does look bloody good for his age!

I dread to think what men you come across if you think he looks good for his age (or any age, for that matter). Mutton dressed as ram!!

We watched it. I thought he was 'up himself', crude, self centred, vain and quite frankly a bit odd.

Absolutely!
