I watched one episode of this new show last night, I don’t know how I got to the end.

Edmonds come across as a vain, self centred, immature and arrogant.

How anyone could compare this to Clarksons farm is beyond me.

Has anyone else seen this show?

fancythat Wed 02-Jul-25 08:15:49

No.
But you have made it sound interesting!
I will watch an episode.

Toetoe Wed 02-Jul-25 08:23:12

The first episode I felt he was pompous and lording it , boasting about his life and luxurys, but after the second episode I feel he is a very spiritual person . He does come across as silly in the things he says but he also likes to share. He has an abundance of wealth and seems to spend just for the sake of spending I.e. the stones . It is cringy to watch but I actually like him . What an amazing life style

I thought the same Sago. We had to turn it off before the end as I couldn’t stand his self importance, smugness and all round arrogance. I think he’s slightly unhinged to be honest although his wife seems pretty ‘normal’

The trailer was enough for me... trash indeed.

Bukkie Wed 02-Jul-25 08:35:46

I saw 5 minutes of it on Gogglebox and the bit I saw I agree with you Sago, Noel came across as very vain. He kept saying how he doesn't look his age. I remember him from the Jungle a few years ago and he did look fit and strong but there was no need to keep repeating it.

jobieP Wed 02-Jul-25 08:35:51

I turned him off when he made a crass joke about cock and pussy for the loo doors

When I was in primary school, I think about 1967 we had a nice young male student teacher who taught us some Geography.
Some time after he left, I forget how long, we were sent a photo of him (wearing a white polo neck !) and a letter wishing us all the best for our futures.
Yes it was a young Noel Edmonds. Always remembered that photo, I guess it was a publicity shot he had made.
Still nice of him to send it.
But Ive never been able to watch him on TV as I hate smug self satisfied people, Chris Evans is similar.

keepingquiet Wed 02-Jul-25 09:10:42

The media is full of these sort of people- why do we give up our precious time watching them?

I’ve always thought he was so I won’t be watching.

Agreed. I’ve never warmed to him, I didn’t like him on radio, in the seventies, and I’ve never warmed to him since.
Actually I’m not keen on Clarkson either, I prefer Matt Baker and his series about his parents’ farm and life.

Kate1949 Wed 02-Jul-25 09:36:09

We watched it. I thought he was 'up himself', crude, self centred, vain and quite frankly a bit odd.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Jul-25 09:51:38

His home and business have been severely affected by the current floods in New Zealand.

Wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

I never liked him when he was on tv here in the UK. I think he is, as others have said, a show-off, full of himself and totally unbearable. I tried to watch it, but in the first 7 minutes he made several sex-related comments and came over as the prat he clearly is. I couldn’t bear to suffer any more and binned it. What an obnoxious man. He has got even worse since he left UK tv and I have got better things to do with my time than sit through this rubbish. What tv boss authorised this dreadful programme? I hope they got the sack as it’s an embarrassment, even more than that twerp is, and that’s saying something.
Ye gods - I didn’t think tv could get any worse but I was proved wrong!
If he wanted to emigrate, fine, but if he wants to leave the uk, I wish he’d do it properly and stay off our tv screens. How dare he ditch the uk that helped to make him famous, and then start contaminating the tv of another country? Poor New Zealand!

Maybe you’re right not to wish it on him but perhaps if he’d been loyal to the country that made him famous, he wouldn’t be in this mess now. What goes around comes around! I hope he doesn’t come crawling back here.

It was a no from me before I read all of these posts.

GrandmaKT Wed 02-Jul-25 10:06:02

I just found it boring - I was hoping for more on New Zealand and less on Noel Edmonds! Having said that, I have always been very sceptical about 'new age' treatments - crystals, oxygen tents, hot stones, whatever. It must be said though that he does look bloody good for his age!

Only an immature prat would make such comments. At his advanced age, too. What an overgrown schoolboy he is. Can’t stand him.
Perhaps he could leave and take the dreadful Clarkson with him. They could make a programme together and could call it ‘Two tw*ts abroad!

I dread to think what men you come across if you think he looks good for his age (or any age, for that matter). Mutton dressed as ram!!

I saw the trailer and thought that I hadn't realised he'd left!

Actually, annoying though Clarkson is in some ways, he does shine the spotlight on the difficulties farmers face in this country, and in fact in other countries too, faced with so much government bureaucracy, the vagaries of the seasons, climate etc.

Yes, he is cushioned by wealth but doesn't sugarcoat it and make it sound like an idyllic country hobby.

Charleygirl5 Wed 02-Jul-25 10:39:39

I thought he had retired in this country until I also saw the trailer. It was enough for me, I would prefer to watch paint dry.

He is 76 and it does not appear he needs the money so why not have a peaceful life?

Does your statement about being loyal to your country, or deserving the mess you’re in apply to all those who emigrated to NZ and are now having problems, it just to Noel Edmonds?
