Anyone watching Mix Tape on BBC2? (all episodes available on iPlayer)

It's a romantic drama - I'm really enjoying it.

I'm looking forward to watching this, it seems like a nice antidote to all the shows with murder and mayhem. And hopefully a good soundtrack! 🎶

I gave it ten minutes, possibly not long enough and gave up.

That's a shame Charleygirl5 because it turned out to be really good (imo) and I actually cried at the end. Still, we're all different in what we like ......

Is this about the mix tapes that young lads used to give to the girls that they fancied? I still have some of the ones given to my daughter. There was something so sweet about them. I must check it out.

Yes. It's a teenage love story, and then love later on.
I don't want to say any more in case I spoil it for people.

It’s got 5 stars from the TV critic, but I didn’t see it.

A friend recommended it this afternoon!

I’ve just watched the first one, I love it DH not too keen. But it’s reminding me of my first love, never forgotten those feelings.

I'm enjoying it smile It reminds me of my children's late teen times.

We both liked it.

I watched two episodes last night. A tender young love story. I was heartbroken at the end of episode 2, regarding the girl's brother, no spoilers, so I won't go into detail.

I am enjoying it, very nostalgic, I am sure a few of us have looked up ex old flames on Facebook out of curiosity and ask the question "what if...?"

Perhaps watch it on iPlayer so you can skim through to see if you change yourr mind?

Loving it , I don't want it to end . Trying not to binge . Stirring up lots of happy memories, the music , first love. Sigh !!

I am afraid I prefer murder, and that is all I read nowadays. I have not enjoyed the recent ones shown, but during winter, there will be something on TV for me.

Have you watched The Chelsea Detective, Charleygirl5?

Aely Thu 17-Jul-25 16:54:32

Like Charleygirl5, I started watching it, skipped a bit to see if it got better, gave up and deleted the Series Link I had set up. I didn't take to the characters and the story failed to grip me.

It is superb - I binge watched it over a couple of days. Superb acting and direction, and brilliant screenplay with subtle twists and insights. 5 stars from me for sure!

granfromafar Thu 17-Jul-25 22:20:49

I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. The only thing that irked me was that the young Alison had dark, curly hair, whereas the adult Alison had straight blonde hair!

Hubby and I binged watched all episodes last night. We absolutely loved it. We both said it makes a change to watch something that wasn’t full of violence and bad language. We didn’t want it to end

I’m enjoying it. Very poignant.

I binge watched it - thought it was pretty good. I thought the actors playing the teenagers were better than those playing the older couple. Very nostalgic!

I just accept that people straighten and dye their hair - and that she was hiding the fact that she had gone grey by going blonde! grin
