Loose Women Annoying Panel

Every now and then I put Loose women on but frequently irritated by different members of the panel. Today, Mariella Frostrup, she who is always right, talking over people and making statements with which I find no supporting evidence. Cutting across others different views. No empathy with the public and problems they face. Perhaps that's the problem, just out of touch.

I stopped watching this awful programme. The worst, in my opinion, is Denise Welch. I think I put this on a previous thread.

I stopped too sometime ago because I always found the panel annoying.

What were they discussing? I haven't watched mainstream live tv for 2 years now.

Dennis Welch is a nightmare and Brenda too very irritating? I remember her winning the tv competition years ago a very different Brenda from the prim one now.

I gave up watching some time ago as well. Occasional good discussions but in the main a self centred group of women out of touch with real life.

I watched it a couple of times years ago and found the women on it hugely annoying so turned it off permanently.

I never watch it

I don’t know it but with a name like Mariella Frostrup - that just cannot be real. Someone’s having a laugh.

Esmay Wed 06-Aug-25 05:56:31

I can't stand it .
I don't watch it .
Nothing worse than a group of screaming hysterics .

grandMattie Wed 06-Aug-25 06:33:33

I tried watching it an£ find it ghastly; all these screeching women, never really listening to each other , etc. Bah, humbug!

What an odd comment. She was born in Oslo. Her parents are Peter (Norwegian) and Jane (Irish) Frostrup.

J52 Wed 06-Aug-25 06:41:26

Actually, I correct myself, her mother is Scottish.

Allsorts. I’m finding MF very annoying too, I only dip in and out these days. I prefer it when Ruth hosts, I got the feeling yesterday that the Panal didn’t gel very well.

Northernsoulnanna Wed 06-Aug-25 07:07:43

I watched it once and only once years ago.

They were shouting and screaming and ,false hysterical laughter
(Screaming banshees came to mind)

Pudding123 Wed 06-Aug-25 09:24:17

I watched this yesterday for the first time in ages and had exactly the same thoughts about MF .
Good grief she was awful and so opinionated.
And as for the audience Woo Wooing OMG I won't be watching such rubbish for a long time.

Shelflife Wed 06-Aug-25 09:42:52

A panel of self centred women . Individuals not too bad but together a nightmare. Full of self importance, Denise Welch is the worst!

Loose Women is well past its sell-by date. The presenters are all awful, especially the dreaded Welch woman, who irritates me beyond belief. I am not a violent person but every time I see her, I itch to slap her. Her constant mentioning of her son, (in a band, you know) and her horrible cackle infuriate me beyond words.
I used to watch it until a few months ago when it suddenly hit me how dreadful it had become, partly, I think, because Welch joined the panel. I realised I put it on purely out of habit.
Why are the panel so irritating? Ruth clicking her tongue, Colleen with her constant false tears, Jane can be a bit supercilious, Christine with her uncombed and unkempt hair, just for starters!
I agree that the Woo-wooing is annoying, not to mention juvenile and I wonder about the mentality of the audience who allow themselves to be manipulated in this way.
Mariella Frostrup? Don’t get me started!
I can’t understand why ITV hasn’t axed this insult-to-the-intelligence programme. I keep seeing that viewer figures have plummeted, but still it churns on. Why??

Kate1949 Wed 06-Aug-25 10:06:49

It is to be cut to 30 minutes as is Lorraine. Thats a start I suppose.

LovesBach Wed 06-Aug-25 10:39:10

Womans Hour is having the same effect on me; I am usually driving at that time, but switch off as it is irritating. Often several people talking over each other, and then screaming with false laughter. On one occasion a large time slot was given to a musician, who was asked by the presenter 'How important was it for you to take intellectual control of your last album?' This is the point where I begin to wonder if I fit into today's world at all - what are they talking about?

Athrawes Wed 06-Aug-25 10:42:04

I enjoyed it in its early days but not any more. It's a lot of talk with no reality or thought in it. Disappointing

Crossstitchfan Wed 06-Aug-25 10:43:26

30 minutes is 30 minutes too long!

knspol Wed 06-Aug-25 13:47:39

Never watched this mainly because I've heard who's on the panel in particular Denise Welch. Think it must have passed it's sell by date like many others

She's very real and has been a broadcaster for decades. I also know she's real as I sat next to her at an awards lunch!
