So, I've heard of 8 of the celebrities but some of those I've literally just heard the names - don't know what they actually do.

Given my interests though, it's unlikely I would be able to identify a reality "celebrity" (I mean the Love Island type shows) a blogger/vlogger/influencer or most sports people.

Anyone know all of them?

Yes, I was very surprised that La Voix wasn't in the dance-off, his dance was very wooden.
But, yes, his personality was what swung the vote.

rafichagran Mon 20-Oct-25 11:43:29

Le Voix yes , why Ellie? I thought she was good. I voted Le Voix because he is generally good and had a bad day. Even said he should have been in the dance off.
I think the right three have gone.

rafichagran Mon 20-Oct-25 11:44:01

He said.

NotSpaghetti Mon 20-Oct-25 12:36:41

I think Ellie is still in entirely for her enthusiasm.

escaped Mon 20-Oct-25 13:22:14

I won't say too much, because I don't know a lot, but I think Down Syndrome people can have excellent rhythm. Ellie certainly is on the beat, with just a few timing faults, and makes it all look natural
I like her enthusiasm, but would be very surprised if she won. She's nothing like Rose as a dancer, that would not be possible.

I think however nice Ellie is we have to be honest and say she did a lot of stomping about.

Wonderful arm and hand movement, though.

Maybe, but so did alot of others. I find her dances full of energy.

I’ve just seen on Facebook that Steffan has withdrawn due to a serious issue with a calf muscle.

Allira Mon 20-Oct-25 19:54:11

Oh dear, that's a pity and for Dianne too.

Maremia Mon 20-Oct-25 21:12:55

Second time he has called off.

Allira Mon 20-Oct-25 21:24:50

Maremia

Second time he has called off.

He probably tried to come back but has had to retire, especially if the muscle could be further damaged if he continues.

Casdon Mon 20-Oct-25 21:30:57

This is the post.

Allira Mon 20-Oct-25 21:56:48

Ouch!!

TillyTrotter Tue 21-Oct-25 08:39:24

Oh that’s a blow for Stefan & Dianne. He had such a good time on Saturday seemed genuinely pleased to be back.
I guess that means nobody will go this weekend?

Bukkie Tue 21-Oct-25 08:48:02

I agree about Ellie. Although her enthusiasm is delightful, she isn't the best dancer (much better than me however) I think she will reach about halfway in the competition.

kittylester Tue 21-Oct-25 08:50:10

I am sorry about Stefan but the mum in me is really pleased that Dianne will not be throwing herself around quite so much. And can water more 'sensible' shoes.

Sparklefizz Tue 21-Oct-25 10:02:24

Ellie is not being given any constructive criticism, only heaps of rather patronising praise. As her Mum said, she has always loved being the centre of attention, and I do wonder how she would cope if she was in the dance off .... and how the judges would handle voting her off.

She's a sweet young woman with huge enthusiasm but is that enough? As others have said, it's a dance competition and an unfair playing field. The Paralympics are held because athletes with mixed abilities can't compete fairly with able-bodied athletes.

In my view she didn't deserve the score of 8 that she got last week from one of the judges.

Re Stefan, it's a shame he's had to leave due to injury, but like you kittylester I am relieved that Dianne will be ok. Pregnancy changes the body's centre of balance. I was concerned to watch her routines.

escaped Tue 21-Oct-25 11:13:11

Good post Sparkelfizz.

NotSpaghetti Tue 21-Oct-25 11:22:36

If you are an athlete/ dancer or similar I think you can continue through your pregnancy - generally until very late at least... I do think women know their own bodies/capabilities and shouldn't (all things being equal) be put off/ stopped/ judged for doing things they do every day.

The one thing I hated most about being pregnant was other people's attitudes to what I was doing and that I should not do certain things.

Re "centre of balance" yes, it obviously changes, but it doesn't happen overnight you know!
(Thank goodness!)grin

Allira Tue 21-Oct-25 11:42:34

I think the point is that the experienced dancer is dancing with an amateur and they are performing some quite intricate dance moves.

There's many a slip betwixt cup and lip

NotSpaghetti Tue 21-Oct-25 14:48:51

I think that was why she was paired with someone a bit plodding and older tbh Allira.
Not so likely to do wild "throw me about" things.

kittylester Tue 21-Oct-25 14:52:14

I did admit that it was the mum in me.

Maremia Tue 21-Oct-25 15:09:59

At least he wasn't voted off and seemed very happy with his performance. So he is going with happy memories.

Maremia Tue 21-Oct-25 15:11:29

Yes, I worry about Ellie in a dance off. But it won't be for a while yet. Popular vote.
