Time for the next thread.

If Audrey was supposedly staying at Gail’s for Christmas, I would have expected her to appear as well.

She was probably knocking back the G&T’s in another room.

What a good job Roy was able to come along and offer Maggie a lift to the hotel. What was she doing, sitting on the bench? Was she waiting for a bus, a tram or Streetcars to rock up on Christmas night?

The episode was full of drama, most of it rather silly.

Surely when Theo accuses Todd of being tipsy, the others can see he isn’t?

Did anyone feel for poor Max, incarcerated somewhere ‘up north’ in a Young Offenders/Prison? No one gave him a mention. Completely forgotten about.

Are Lauren and Ollie going to become an item, now Dee Dee is out of the picture?

I really think Gail's video was created by AI.

Doodledog Thu 25-Dec-25 23:16:12

I always thought Gail seemed false. The simpering and blinking felt so overdone, and there was no change tonight. Helen Worth doesn't look well though. I thought her last 'live' scenes made her look frail - I hope she's ok.

It felt like Gail was addressing the nation like the Queen. Evelyn was as fabulous as ever. Lesbian Ranchsmile Brilliant!

Aveline Thu 25-Dec-25 21:16:38

Just watched the Christmas programme. Predictable drama at the Rovers and Todd and Theo's.
Was Gail's video message AI? It felt so artificial. Gail was a better actress than that.

I watched last night for the first time in years. I’m an Archers fan so wanted to see Harrison as Todd’s abusive partner. Scary isn’t he. I fear he wants to leave the archers and pursue his tv career
Primrose, thanks for listing the gay characters, I’d picked up Carla has broadened her horizons since I last watched.

I felt a bit Mary Whitehouse when I was surprised every couple seemed to be gay. My street doesnt reflect that 😄

Charleygirl5 Thu 25-Dec-25 11:13:52

Easier to mention who is straight as they must be in the minority.

Bukkie Thu 25-Dec-25 11:07:40

Kate Connor and Imran's sister too. Mind you there aren't many men for the straight women in Corrie because Sarah has had a relationship with most of them. Neighbours was the same too. In a cul de sac of about 6 houses there were more gay characters than straight.

Primrose53 Thu 25-Dec-25 10:25:21

Clawdy

And don't forget Sean! One of the original gay characters! How many does that make??

Yes I forgot him!

Wishing you all a happy Christmas 🎄 🎅🏻

Beechnut

Something along the lines of ‘your feet are there and I’m over here’.

Oh thanks! I managed to miss that! I am not keen on Maggie though so what she says sometimes goes over my head! I must concentrate more, but the whole programme can get a bit tedious at times!
Happy Christmas!

Beechnut Thu 25-Dec-25 00:07:22

Sally’s youngest is gay as well isn’t she?

Primrose53 Wed 24-Dec-25 21:35:53

My son never watches Corrie but was in the lounge tonight when we watched it. I was explaining who everybody was. So it went “that’s Becky and Lisa, they are gay. that’s Todd and Theo, they are gay. That is James, he is gay. that’s Carl, he swings both ways.” Then Carla appeared bound and gagged in a cupboard “that’s Carla, she was straight but is now gay”. Only Billy and the ghost of Paul would have made it a full house.
Sorry, forgot Nina and Asher. 🤣🤣

Calendargirl Wed 24-Dec-25 21:17:27

So dastardly Becky has really lost it now, with poor Carla trussed up like the proverbial turkey, I assume being held captive in the flat where it is too dangerous for Becky to be.

It gets sillier.

And poor Todd is going to be allowed to cook for all these extra guests.

What a treat.

As for Maggie rummaging through Eva’s bag…..

It’s quite the pantomime.

Bukkie Wed 24-Dec-25 17:19:20

Susie is Jake's sister (real life). He is a good young actor too.

Calendargirl Wed 24-Dec-25 16:31:36

vegansrock

I think the Susie actor is the real life sister of Jake

They seem to employ several brother and sister actors for the children’s parts.

Put us out of our misery! What was the response?

Beechnut Wed 24-Dec-25 12:31:13

I loved her response when Maggie said she was getting under her feet behind the bar 😂

Calendargirl Wed 24-Dec-25 11:00:19

Susie is playing a good part, that of a rather spoilt, precocious little madam.

Clawdy Wed 24-Dec-25 08:23:20

I'm thinking Debbie may be Carl's mum, too, she looks upset each time babies are mentioned. If she is, Carl may feel really guilty about taking her money! Or maybe not, he may feel angry that she didn't keep him.

Bukkie Tue 23-Dec-25 11:05:03

I like Eva, Ben, Ollie and Susie. Can't take to the Will or Maggie. I never watched Father Ted so have nothing to compare her to. I liked Eva first time round and accept her laugh is part of her character. The little girl is a perfect match as her daughter and she is a fabulous little actress unlike the wooden Jack. He really isn't improving with age.
