Time for the next thread.

As it ended last night showing Todd and Theo’s flat, I thought we were going to see poor Todd curled up somewhere. So glad we didn’t but more is to come. I think the actor who plays Todd should get an award next year.

Agreed. He's played it all very well. If the Theo actor had been as good it would have been really traumatic. It was difficult to watch as it was.

*It reflects life* if that family reflected real life I d go and live on a desert island theworriedwell

Why? Because they have different accents. Because there are step parents. Because they aren't all the same colour. Yes families are like that up and down this country.

I think the 'special edition' featuring just Todd and Theo is on Monday (no spoilers because I don't know what's going to happen either).

Did anyone notice Liam looking at his drone footage? Is this how the culprits of Tyrone's injuries are going to be discovered, I wonder?

I hope Liam says something before Carl clears off with Debbie's money.

Clawdy Sat 13-Dec-25 15:12:33

Let's hope the Theo story is coming to an end. Probably not though.

Charleygirl5 Sat 13-Dec-25 14:32:51

I agree, I thought Todd would be lying unconscious on the floor but the flat was very tidy, no sign of a fight. Good that Todd has fitted cameras around the flat, Theo will be out, sooner rather than later, I hope, with handcuffs on.

Billy is on the lookout, as he knows that all is not as it appears between the two of them.

It's so sweet how much George is missing Todd. Surely it'll all blow over soon and Theo will be history (or in that popular Corrie jail)

Beechnut Sat 13-Dec-25 10:22:30

Perhaps Carla has gone off to investigate Costello’s house and not to Tenerife.
Umm wonder what Todd’s photo frame saw 🤔

I think they had to speak up about it grannynannywanny there was so much negativity on social media about the poor casting of different accents also I ve never seen so much anti against ‘a whole family’ before They all irritate me individually but as a group they are, to me, insufferable.
I wish they d disappear as fast as they all arrived and

Nothing unusual about families having a mix of accents. Some of us move about. In my family, my parents, siblings and next generation is my children and nephews and nieces, we have Irish accents north and south, English accents from Yorkshire and West Mids, South Africa, Australia, if I included my cousins you could add a few more.

If just my parents and their children we have Irish accents, north and south and English just like in Corrie. It reflects life.

It’s so stupid, the Becky storyline, about how she’s in so much danger, but is strolling round the street, the precinct, the hospital, always in that awful coat, baggy trousers and trainers.

Think Lisa secretly enjoys being the object of so much desire!

But Becky is so undesirable!

The sooner this daft storyline winds up, the better.

Crossstitchfan Wed 10-Dec-25 23:03:34

Totally agree, BlueBelle! They are beyond annoying. I can just about tolerate Eva and the Dad but the rest of them can disappear down a deep hole as far as I’m concerned, and can they take Becky and Betsy with them please??

Betty is so immature and stupid. She acts like a small child and she somehow can't see what Becky is doing; she's so annoying.
As for Will, how could any adult fall for such an immature and unpleasant boy!
Wasn't it convenient that Costello woke from his coma at that precise moment?
Sorry, I am in a cynical mood this evening.

Amazing to think Ken has been there for 65 years! I did wonder if his time was up last night when Tracy uncharacteristically left the pub to spend time with him. I was half expecting her to find him deceased in his armchair with a copy of the Gazette on his lap.

Calendargirl Tue 09-Dec-25 20:39:46

It’s 65 years ago TODAY that Coronation Street first aired.

9th December 1960.

And Ken still there!

theworriedwell 2 of my grandchildren have a N.Irish mum and Scottish dad living in England. Their accents were a comical mix of Irish and Scottish in their preschool years. The local accent soon took over once they started school.

Yes that's what seems to happen. I've moved 200 miles, still in England, and my children don't sound like me.

I wondered about the different accents when they arrived BlueBelle but it was mentioned a couple of episodes in that Maggie was from Galway in the west and settled in Belfast with her northern husband and then the children were born there.

They also portrayed that last night with her husband and boys having a strong northern accent and young Maggie with her Galway accent.

I think the grandchildren were brought up in England hence their English accents.

My family are a similar mix but to the other way round with my mother being the one from the north, my generation all have English accents although my husband says you know I'm angry if you suddenly hear the Irish in me.

theworriedwell Tue 09-Dec-25 18:44:05

I quite like the new family, the dad is great, Eva's OK, Maggie is hilarious and the older son is lovely. The younger son and Susie I'm not keen on.

Aveline Tue 09-Dec-25 18:17:03

I can't stand Eva with her silly laugh and on display cleavage. I quite like her partner but still think of him as Clint from the Commodore pub in Port Devine!

See Grannynannywanny it hasn’t worked that way for me at all I can’t find anything I like about that very mixed up family some with northern Irish accents some with southern and some speaking Kings English 🤣 a very young looking 15 year old with his equally young looking coach ‘getting it on’ as the tv advert says. Unlike you I don’t think the mothers doing a good job at all I blank out when she’s screeching and Eva’s voice is nearly as bad as Carla’s for grating but hey ho that’s me
The main positive is as others have said we aren’t seeing Carla Lisa and the awful Becky so much atm

But they really aren’t going down well on social media Perhaps it would have been better if they d arrived bit by bit and not so en masse
