Time for the next thread.

I wouldn’t say they’re a likeable family BlueBelle but I’ve enjoyed their antics since they arrived in the Rovers and I’m interested to see how the story unfolds. They’ve livened up the programme for me.

I’ve had a soft spot for Pauline McLynn since her Father Ted days and I think she’s playing this part well. I’m steering clear of all spoilers as I don’t like to know in advance. I’m curious to find out what she saw in Ken Barlow’s cupboard the day she went to borrow a punch bowl. Surely she and Ken would have recognised each other if they have a past history. Hopefully it wasn’t Ken she had an affair with all those years ago and he might be Ben’s dad 😳

I was thinking I m the only one disliking this family so much but the family are getting thrashed on social media they seem very unpopular

Yes, there were comments about Maggie’s birthday hairdo.

‘Birds Nest’ was one of the kinder ones, and also it looked the same when she left the salon as when she went in!

Eva still seems popular though.

I have seen speculation about what Maggie saw when she was rooting about in Ken’s sideboard a few weeks ago (as you do), but my lips are 🤐

I really don’t think the coach would be carrying on with Will.

He looks very young and immature.

Unfortunately that might be the attraction....

Yes, I suppose so, but then she looks like she fancies Daniel. I don’t think that’s all about getting him onside for her job application either.

Lauren suddenly seems to have matured. Quite the responsible adult.

Pity she still looks such a mardy so and so.

I wonder if Daniel will pick up on any signs between Meghan and Will. Or if he’ll be too entranced by her to notice he’s not the only one.

I’m half expecting she’ll be pregnant by Christmas and we’ll have another who’s the daddy storyline. That’s if Meghan survives till Christmas if Granny Maggie uncovers what she’s been up to with her precious grandson.

love0c Tue 09-Dec-25 08:59:24

I actually watched it all the ay through. No winding on ha ha. No Lisa and co and no Todd and co. Fine by me!!!!

Astitchintime Tue 09-Dec-25 07:38:22

Maggie would have been more at home in a sketch on Mrs Browns Boys! However, I do suspect that there’s a huge traumatic event waiting to happen at The Rovers. The relationship between the 15 yr old boy and his coach gives me the creeps, and I think that will blow up pretty soon. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long though.

Grannynannywanny Tue 09-Dec-25 07:35:48

I quite enjoyed last night’s episode. It was a change from the never ending saga of Becky skulking around in her parka supposedly looking inconspicuous while popping up everywhere.

Presumably Ben’s brother who lives abroad is the little brother who witnessed mum pushing dad down the stairs.

Calendargirl Tue 09-Dec-25 07:20:31

Oh, I didn’t think last night’s episode was too bad.

I thought the actress playing the younger Maggie sounded just like the older one.

Eva, watch your step as you may end up down the stairs if you get on the wrong side of MIL.

(At least we didn’t have to put up with Becky, Betsy, Lisa, Carla….)

Charleygirl5 Mon 08-Dec-25 23:20:33

I thought it was only me. I kept dozing off, so I probably ruined tonight's sleep.

BlueBelle Mon 08-Dec-25 20:45:04

What a crxx programmed it is tonight
That family are doing my head in

BlueBelle Sat 06-Dec-25 08:34:11

Ok Calandergirl I won’t give up ‘I ll keep on athroshing ‘ as they say in my part of the country
I wish the family would move back from whence they came and take Becky with them

Calendargirl Sat 06-Dec-25 07:30:25

Don’t give up on Corrie BlueBelle!

Thee and me are two stalwart supporters, through thick and thin.

And some of the storylines are improving.

Back to Becky, what has happened to her keeping a low profile? Not so when she is loitering in the hospital, or popping SIM cards down the nearest drain.

Am finding Maggie a pain. Who would go round touting to GS’s ex GF, demanding she resumed their relationship?

Don’t rate her acting.

How will Dee Dee manage the childcare in Singapore, with no James to ‘co-parent’? I suppose with the marvellous salary, she will afford a nanny.

Bye bye Dee Dee.👋

BlueBelle Fri 05-Dec-25 22:57:00

I m fast losing interest ‘The family’ are grinding me down especially the Maggie woman, Dee Dee is off on a one way plane journey maybe she ll visit Gail on her way
The shenanigans with the coach (is it Megan) and the lad and Daniel is daft and Becky /Costello /Kit and Lisa story is ridiculous Becky please go

Loved the women’s meeting earlier in the week Debbie is such a gem, when she was sitting in the shopping trolley I thought she was superb I don’t know how the police officer kept a straight face but that’s one good scene out of dozens

Charleygirl5 Fri 05-Dec-25 21:43:31

I thought tonight's was very watchable. I was so sorry Todd didn't walk out, but he now appears to be more aware of what Theo is capable of. I think and hope that Billy has suspicions.

I don't understand Lisa. Kit told her of Becky's probable involvement, but she still mouths off to Becky about what has been done or not to find whoever harmed Costello.

Devorgilla Fri 05-Dec-25 17:49:11

I did think, in the episode where Theo was smashing Todd's head against the mirror, that there was a flash of pure rage on Todd's face. I do hope so. I'd like to see Theo get what he deserves.
The Debbie/Carl theory sounds plausible. Well spotted.

Bukkie Wed 03-Dec-25 20:59:38

Love her or hate her (I love her) Susie is a perfect match as Eva's daughter. And unlike many of the other children in the show she can act.

Calendargirl Wed 03-Dec-25 17:47:51

If my wild theory re Debbie and Carl happens to be correct, just think how devastating it will be when Debbie finds out he has duped her of her money (which, of course, is bound to happen now he has his fingers in the till).

Aveline Wed 03-Dec-25 17:05:57

It had never occurred to me either. Great suggestion.

Cabowich Wed 03-Dec-25 16:34:04

Oh Calendargirl you've switched on a lightbulb re Carl and Debbie! What a brilliant theory! We'll have to keep watching just to find out.

Crossstitchfan Wed 03-Dec-25 15:08:39

I agree! One of the best episodes for a long time. I hope whoever wrote it is glued to their laptop thrashing out more!

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 03-Dec-25 14:09:19

I, too, loved Monday's episode - such fun. We need more laughs and fewer dramas/ disasters/ doom .
If I want agony, I can watch a cheery real crime programme

Maggiemaybe Wed 03-Dec-25 13:53:39

I’ve just caught up with Monday’s Corrie. What a treat! I loved the women’s antics, and there was just enough of the serious stuff to go along with the fun. If only we could have more episodes like that.
