Time for the next thread.

Just imagine if lurking Becky with her hood up in the back alleyway turns to see little laddo with the blonde coach having a cosy up 🫣
I really am losing it with Corrie not one decent storyline at the moment and I find myself not really concentrating like I used to

Maggiemaybe Tue 25-Nov-25 15:56:59

The back ginnel was just where they had all the conversations about what bin should go out that week. Always ending with “Whatever Ken’s put out”.

Grannynannywanny Tue 25-Nov-25 11:25:54

Back in the day the Corrie ginnel was never the place to have a private or inappropriate conversation as there would always be a resident on the other side of the wall who’d overhear every word. Now all manner of shady business and dodgy conversations take place there and nobody is ever seen or heard .

Becky is like a panto villain who’s always lurking in the wings ready to stride into the scene. It’s such a far fetched and tedious storyline that’s just going round in circles.

Great description. When she is lurking in the ginnel with her hoodie pulled up concealing her face, I just can’t stop laughing.

Perhaps this will all come to a climax on Christmas Day - murders galore, or many exits in taxis with tearful gazes through back windows. I might have lost the will to watch by then if Theo and Becky make many more appearances - they both set my teeth on edge, with Carl not far behind. He will manage to transfer all Debbie's assets to his bank account and then vanish, leaving her in the smouldering ruins of her business.

Clawdy I didn't want to read that because I also have had enough of Theo. Any half-decent story is "done to death". Poor downtrodden Todd needs to get a life again.

How is Becky surviving? Another jobless one with money.

Every time Becky appears I can’t concentrate on what she’s saying because I’m wondering if it’s a bad wig or a bad hair cut. Either way she needs to drop by to Audrey’s for a tidy up trim.

Oh, isn’t she awful?

Her hair, her coat, her manner, …..

Cannot imagine how Lisa ever fancied her.

Mind you, Carla’s squawky voice would put anyone off….

As for taking on that brat Betsy, who one minute acts like a toddler, then next is somehow going to ‘protect’ her off-on mum…

Carla, I think you would be well out of it, Lisa and her staring eyes, silly little Betsy, …

Let them clear off to Spain with crazy Becky.

Clawdy Tue 25-Nov-25 08:14:45

Apparently the Todd-Theo story will be going on for quite a while. What a pain, we need it over soon.

Betsy and Becky are very nearly causing me to give up on Corrie forever!
Today, Betsy said ‘cha’ instead of ‘chat’. Beck was totally dislikable too.
I loathe both of them!

Please can the Christmas special either be;

a) Todd turning on Theo, and shoving an uncooked turkey leg down his throat, or

b) Ghastly Becky catching a one way flight to anywhere, hopefully accompanied by stroppy, mardy little Betsy.

And Carl and James getting caught midway through stuffing........................the turkey. grin

Aveline Mon 24-Nov-25 21:22:39

And Shona's baby being delivered safely, operated on and all well.

Sarah and Todd mentioned the lost baby not long ago - he was called Billy, and presumaby would have been about twenty now.

sodapop Sun 23-Nov-25 22:04:02

Thanks Calendargirl glad I wasn't dreaming.

Grannycool52 Sun 23-Nov-25 18:48:25

Calendargirl, well remembered.
I think some Grans who have watched Corrie since the beginning would do well with it as our special subject on Mastermind 😁.

It is certainly difficult to watch Todd & Theo but I would imagine true to life. Maybe Sarah will step in as well.
Don't think I am dreaming this but were Sarah & Todd an item in the dim and distant past. They had a child who died ?

Yes, Sarah and Todd were the parents of a baby that either died or was stillborn. Can’t remember if they ever married.

Then Todd came out as gay, which was a huge shock back then.

Bethany’s dad was some young lad at school with Sarah, who was about 13/14 when she had Bethany, huge shocks and big storyline back then.

Now just par for the course.

sad

Beechnut Sun 23-Nov-25 13:34:46

Who is Bethany’s dad?

The scene in my imagination for Christmas morning is one of poor Todd crumpled on the floor, crying, either beaten up or with food poured on him, while Theo waltzes off to his original, dysfunctional family.

An alternative one would be Todd turning on Theo and clobbering him, the ending up before the courts.

This is not a spoiler! It's only what I am imagining, and I really hope Christina cops on and rescues Todd in time!

Grannynannywanny Sun 23-Nov-25 09:13:51

I’m with you Doodledog and prefer to avoid spoilers. I was browsing for something in Asda yesterday and realised I was in the magazine section. I quickly averted my gaze from the tv mags before I saw something to give the game away.

I’m finding the Todd and Theo scenes a difficult watch but I think it’s being well acted. Some of Theo’s remarks to Todd cast my mind back to 40 odd years ago when I was on the receiving end of similar. One one occasion my ex husband stormed off from the table because his dinner was too hot.

Doodledog Sun 23-Nov-25 08:30:42

Thank you. I don’t think I can be the only one who doesn’t want to know what’s going to happen before it is screened though😀.

I hope the Todd situation improves for him soon, and I wouldn’t shed any tears if that meant the demise of the horrible Theo. He’s got Todd down for a half marathon now! That would finish me off for sure.

Aveline Fri 21-Nov-25 17:39:43

I saw that front cover too and was very glad. No spoilers for Doodledog though.

Beechnut Fri 21-Nov-25 16:08:57

Calendargirl

I think Beechnut just meant ‘judging’ by what she saw on the front cover, not Todd literally ‘going’. i.e. leaving.

Yes that is what I meant. Thanks Calendargirl 😀
