Time for the next thread.

I think Beechnut just meant ‘judging’ by what she saw on the front cover, not Todd literally ‘going’. i.e. leaving.

BlueBelle Fri 21-Nov-25 15:34:19

Oh thanks I d forgotten all about those two Mick and whatsit

Well can Santa take the awful new southern/ northern Irish family with him too and if he can fit Megan the coach on the back of the sleigh I’d be grateful He can leave Olly here I don’t mind him

Crossstitchfan Fri 21-Nov-25 15:31:58

Beechnut

The horrible couple are Brody’s mum and her husband *BlueBelle.

I think things are promising for Todd going on the front cover of a TV magazine I saw in Tesco this morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

Do you mean Theo?? I hope Todd’s not going anywhere.

Crossstitchfan Fri 21-Nov-25 15:30:43

Oh, I agree! Those four are totally pointless and irritating, especially Betsy with her permanently open mouth!

Yes, of course - he's Mick, and she was the awful mouthy wife who latched on to Gemma and then attacked Gary. What a charmer. They have played those parts so well; thoroughly dislikeable. I haven't seen either actor in anything else. Will Todd and Theo be the Christmas sensation this year?

I am hoping that when the elves go back with Santa on Christmas Eve that he might find room for Carla, Lisa, Becky & Betsy!

Corrie does like a Christmas baby story...

Who s the horrible couple in prison Lovesbach ? I can only think of Max in prison at the moment who am I missing they are all in and out so often I must have forgotten

Aber57 Fri 21-Nov-25 10:48:52

I wonder if the big Christmas storyline will be about Theo's hold over Todd and it coming to a head. After all Theo still has his family and Todd no-one.

Doodledog Fri 21-Nov-25 09:07:22

Surely Theo must have been abusive to his wife as well?
Theo was abused for his sexuality so might save his abuse for male partners, thinking that gay men deserve it? I think his classic MO of ‘love bomb, devalue, discard’ and the way he gaslights Todd into believing he is to blame might be too sophisticated for that though.

Maggiemaybe Thu 20-Nov-25 22:58:46

Surely Theo must have been abusive to his wife as well? She seems to be off the scene now, but there was no suggestion that he had treated her badly. Perhaps that’ll come to light later.

Poor Todd looks so lost. I’d so love Eileen to make a surprise visit and escort the foul Theo out of his life on the toe of her boot.

LovesBach Thu 20-Nov-25 22:06:18

Theo is hateful, and the worst kind of partner - so he must be acting the part extremely well, as were the horrible couple, names now forgotten, who are both in prison.

Crossstitchfan Thu 20-Nov-25 15:00:11

Well, hardly surprising, as Theo is an ar*e and a prat!

Calendargirl Thu 20-Nov-25 14:16:05

I thought Theo was going to throw the too-big portion of rhubarb crumble over Todd. 😲

What a shame to chuck it in the bin though.

Doodledog Thu 20-Nov-25 13:31:37

I agree, Bukkie. I think it's being done very plausibly. The only issue I have is that there is no chemistry between Todd and Theo. For these situations to happen there does need to be attraction/love, at least in the early days of the relationship, and at least on the part of the victim, and I just don't see it.

Todd is by far the better actor, but Theo just doesn't pull off the irresistible heartthrob role. I agree that last night's episode was heartbreaking. You could see Todd getting sucked into a bewildering argument over nothing, and realising that he's on his own.

Bukkie Thu 20-Nov-25 13:00:12

I know lots of you on here don't like Theo but I think he playing the part brilliantly. Controlling yet charming. Constantly wearing poor Todd down yet making out he is only looking out for him. I was really anxious watching last night which shows how well it was portrayed. I was worried at one point he was going to make Todd sleep with Pete. And when Todd cried at the end I really felt for him. It's a long time since we have cared for a Coronation Street character this much.

JenniferEccles Thu 20-Nov-25 11:59:51

What is so tragic about this Todd storyline is that many poor folk in real life are enduring something similar.

We tend to associate it of course with women as the victim but as this story shows, both sexes can be drawn into these controlling relationships.

Calendargirl Thu 20-Nov-25 11:25:51

I also thought Daniel was teaching in the secure unit, but then seemed to remember the school head offering him the chance to go back there?

Or maybe not!

Bukkie Thu 20-Nov-25 09:21:01

I remember about Imran being Alfie's Dad because it was such a stupid storyline and Abi and Imran having a one night stand seemed implausible. Daniel walked into a teaching job at Weathy High with ease like they all do in soaps. No unemployment in soapland, no interviews, no references, no competition for jobs etc... My heart broke for Todd last night, Gareth Pierce is such a good actor. I don't normally like recasting a character, I was a big fan of old Todd. I remember him working with Tracey in the second hand shop and they were a great double act. This friendship has been forgotten now though. Come on Chrisina, save our Todd.

Grannynannywanny Thu 20-Nov-25 09:03:31

I wonder if I’ve misremembered. Daniel said last night that he was a teacher in Weathy high school. I thought he worked in the teens secure unit.

It was funny when he appeared in Dev’s shop out of the blue . I was saying to myself that Will’s coach reminds me of the girl( whose name I can’t remember) that Daniel hired as a replacement for the deceased Sinead . Then seconds later Daniel walked in and had a twinkle in his eye when he saw her 😆

Aveline Thu 20-Nov-25 08:28:48

Roy's new hobby will lead to some interesting new storylines I suspect.
Todd was heartbreaking last night. His longing look at George was really touching. Hard to believe George didn't respond.
At least there was no Carla/Swayne/Becky scenes.

Calendargirl Thu 20-Nov-25 06:43:55

Where is Megan the coach staying when she is supposed to be giving Will his ‘coaching’?

What about her job in Hull? Does she just go backwards and forwards?

She was giving Daniel a ‘come hither’ look when she joined him in the Rovers, despite telling gormless Will he was man enough for her and she wanted to spend her life with him, 🥱

Heard it all before, many times, on Corrie.

I wonder who Roy is writing to, in prison?

Could it be Max? No one else ever mentions him, least of all his family.

Out of sight…..

JenniferEccles Wed 19-Nov-25 23:19:55

Thank you Bukkie and Maggiemaybe

I had forgotten him.

Cross posted there, Bukkie. smile
