I agree with BlueBelle a load of drivel. Who may I ask, is Mrs. Doyle?

Nothing will please Theo, and he has a warped, cruel sense of humour.

Mrs Doyle was the Irish housekeeper in the tv series ‘Father Ted’, many years ago.

As GNW said, "Not another dodgy character."

Crossed posts Doodledog. I’m a slow typer as well as forgetful 😆

Grannynannywanny Tue 28-Oct-25 09:48:16

For anyone else who is as forgetful as me here is a link to Eva’s backstory. I’d forgotten most of it. Including the fact she had relationships with most of the males in the street. Her mother was Stella Price ( Michelle Collins) who ran the Rovers for a time.

Susie is not a baby now, of course, but she was when Eva left t'cobbles.

I can't remember the back story of Eva. She's appears to be sister to Lianne and Toyha? Definitely can't remember that. I think she left with a baby and went to live in France?

She is related to Lianne and as they share a mother (Stella). Lianne and Toyah are stepsisters as Lianne is Les Battersby's daughter and Toyah is Janice's daughter. Les and Janice brought them both up together.

The baby (Susie) is the late Aiden Connor's daughter. Aiden is related to Carla and was the son of Jenny's ex husband, Johnny.

Corrie is definitely a case of family trees having only one branch, isn't it? grin

Just know that 'Mrs Doyle' will address Billy as Father..."will you have a pint Father, ah go on, go on, go on" grin

Ooohh, I was a huge fan of Father Ted and Mrs,Doyle. I’m a couple of weeks behind the uk living as I do in Canada but I cannot wait to see what the Mrs. Doyle story line will be all about.

Go on, go on, go on. ! 🤣🤣. Love Mrs Doyle.

I enjoyed last night's episode.
The tension around Todd and Theo is ramping up well.
I think Pauline McGlynn will bring some much needed humour back to Corrie.
I did wonder at Ben having an Ulster accent whilst his mother has a west of Ireland one, but that's just nit-picking.
I think this new 3 sisters story, with the financially incompetent Ben and strident mother- in- law could be fun!

Calendargirl Tue 28-Oct-25 06:24:01

I felt the pub episode was OTT.

Susie seemed to dominate the family, yet another child in the street.

Think they would have been better getting things sorted rather than having a ‘lock in’ the minute they arrived,

As for Ollie being one of the sons, how convenient.

Oh Todd, just get rid of Theo, can’t you see he is totally weird?

Lovetopaint037 Tue 28-Oct-25 05:36:33

I was totally confused as I can’t recall the happenings of years ago. The whole pub episode was well over the top. Felt same as BlueBelle when she described it as manic drivel.

Fizz's bag. It was last night's episode.

Thanks Kate. It didn’t record (I was out) but I have managed to get it and catch up now.

Ben seems a dodgy character . I hope he’s not going to bring criminals into the mix. We’ve had enough of those storylines in the past.

That was an action packed episode and I really enjoyed it. I hadn’t seen any spoilers and it was all one big surprise to me!

I barely recognised Pauline McLynn. I loved her in Father Ted. I’m looking forward to the next episode to see how this all unfolds. It’s ages since I’ve felt that about Corrie.

I agree. Having the full cast (or most of them) involved makes a huge difference, I think.

Doodledog Mon 27-Oct-25 21:05:36

Oh. Well, I enjoyed it.

What a load of manic drivel tonight I really think I ll end up giving up on Corrie it’s absolutely dire all that stupidity in the Rovers screaming and shouting Thought it was dreadful

Doodledog Mon 27-Oct-25 20:57:31

And Mrs Doyle!!

Doodledog Mon 27-Oct-25 20:56:25

Tonight's has been a good episode. A full cast, and lots going on. I hope this marks a change in direction.

I didn't realise that Tyrone's disability was real! I hope he gets well soon.

LovesBach Sat 25-Oct-25 19:23:33

The actor who plays Tyrone had a major knee operation - a rather neat storyline has accommodated this.

Bukkie Sat 25-Oct-25 19:16:03

I am on edge for poor Todd in every scene. Gareth Pierce is playing him brilliantly. Sarah spends so little time with Harry I doubt she realises he has changed heads at least 3 times.
