Time for the next thread.

I’d completely forgotten that Shona has another son (just as they both seem to have forgotten all about Max). Shona and David certainly don’t waste time visiting them in prison, do they? Wasn’t there a big hoohah a while back about Shona’s lad being severely depressed?

Monday’s episode was very fraught. A hit and run, a school fight, the oddest daytime birthday party/shots session ever, charades in the hospital while Tyrone was teetering on the brink, Becky suddenly announcing that she’d slept with Dylan, a woman we’ve never met rising from the dead, the caff running out of carrot cake… It was a bit like when I had my smallpox jab and started hallucinating.

Calendargirl Tue 09-Sept-25 21:43:32

David and Shona did talk about another baby, ages ago.

Ridiculous. They have enough hassle with Lily and Max, the latter incarcerated up north and forgotten about, not forgetting Shona’s other son, also in prison still, I assume.

Charleygirl5 Tue 09-Sept-25 21:39:07

David and Shona obviously did not discuss having another child, so if it is Shona's, it must be an "accident".

pinkprincess Tue 09-Sept-25 20:52:06

I agree with another poster re. Shona pregnant. Not another pregnancy story, can the writers not think of anything else?
The usual big drama round the birth then the baby will be in the cupboard and forgotten about.I find Shona a boring pointless character.

Crossstitchfan Tue 09-Sept-25 20:15:32

I’m surprised you think that, and I don’t find him creepy at all. He is just a bit eccentric, but very knowledgeable about things. I also don’t think the women adore him. But they do seem to like and respect him. He is just Roy, and I think Corrie would suffer without him in it.
Now Theo, on the other hand - creepy as heck. If he went, I would cheer, but not Roy, please!

jobieP Tue 09-Sept-25 17:25:45

Vegansrock I'm not worried about Roy's back. I wish he would leave, I find him creepy and it's silly how the women seem to adore him. Also, what makes him so wise he doesn't have that much life experience.

Becky is the woman who bumped into Roy at the hospital and he recognised her from the photo when he delivered the birthday cake.

Thank you - I was struggling to work that out, and had forgotten the cake encounter.

Good to see Fizz back.

Calendargirl Tue 09-Sept-25 06:29:46

So it’s Ty’s turn for the hospital bed?

How on earth will Abi explain her absence to Kevin, having just returned from holiday? Most women would be putting a wash on, and doing a bit of grocery shopping. Not spending the day in bed with brother-in-law.

Betsy’s 18th celebrations looked awful. Downing ‘shots’ then dashing off.

Convenient that ex wife/mum turns up just when Carla and Lisa have got engaged.

Did Carla always talk in that awful squawky voice, or is it something she has acquired as time’s gone on?

As for yet another baby on the street….🥱 He/she will be joining Frankie/Alfie/ the quads ‘upstairs, looking after themselves whilst the parents are in the Rovers, the cafe, the Bistro, in bed…..

I struggled to keep up with tonight’s episode. It felt to me like there was too much crammed into it. What’s got into David in recent weeks? He seems to be overacting. I’m finding him rather irritating. I hope he’ll react well to Shona’s pregnancy but knowing David he’ll probably as her if Kit’s the father.

That was a strange turn of events with Becky turning up. I was wondering why the camera zoomed in a few times on the photo we’d never seen until tonight. Wonderful observation skills for Roy to recognise her although he’d only seen her in a photo, 4 years younger and with long hair.

Poor Tyrone. I hope he’ll be ok. No wonder it’s standing room only these days in A&E depts. Tyrone had an entourage of 7 taking up seats in the waiting room . Little Dorin is very cute 😊

nanaK54 Mon 08-Sept-25 22:35:43

where not we - should proof read!

nanaK54 Mon 08-Sept-25 22:35:12

Noooooo not Tyrone he is one of my favourite characters.
So we do we think Becky has been? My guess would be some sort of witness protection

Charleygirl5 Mon 08-Sept-25 22:25:28

Am I correct in thinking there are only two episodes this week, and Friday's episode has been cancelled? That will be interesting because a threesome will not work.

Fleur20 Mon 08-Sept-25 21:52:14

Aveline Mon 08-Sept-25 21:31:07

A roller coaster this evening. Poor Tyrone. David in old woman mode is very funny. Shona?!

LovesBach Mon 08-Sept-25 21:24:28

For the first time this evening photos of Lisa, Becky and Betsy on display. That had to be for a reason - so presumably Becky has appeared with a new short hairdo. Roy said he had seen someone he shouldn't have seen, and must tell Carla. Not sure how Roy would ever have seen Becky.

Beechnut Mon 08-Sept-25 20:59:40

Was that Becky that just walked in and has been working under cover ?

Todd is married with a daughter in real life. I was unsure about Todd being recast because I liked Bruno Langley but Gareth Pierce?? has made the character his own and is one of the best actors on the show.

Charleygirl5 Sun 07-Sept-25 23:07:44

After Theo almost killed Todd, why was he allowed to keep a doorkey so he could swan in and out as he pleased? I hope Todd is not killed when Theo loses his temper again, because it will happen sooner rather than later.

I did not realise that Todd is straight in real life.

Calendargirl Sun 07-Sept-25 21:08:26

I watched the second Downton Abbey film on tv today, and as someone said earlier, Theo played the boiler repair man.

His acting seemed better than in Corrie, and he didn’t try to hop into bed with Barrow the butler.

Bukkie Sun 07-Sept-25 19:37:27

Brody's hair is greasy and needs a good cut.

Just as we thought, Todd and Theo are back together. This will go on for ages, like the Yasmeen-Geoff storyline.

I suspect it will. The trouble is that when they (any soaps) start an 'issue led' storyline they have to let it play out as it would in real life, and unfortunately this pattern of abuse usually does involve lots of false starts before the victim finally realises it's a lost cause. They want to get back to how things seemed in the beginning.

From that POV I think it's being very well done, but it falls down a bit for me as I don't know what Todd sees in Theo. The relationship doesn't seem believable to me. There is no chemistry at all. Apparently both actors are straight, and maybe it shows? Many of the intimate scenes are cringy, and there haven't been many domestic scenes where we could see them just getting on and seeming in love. It's all been very fraught, what with the ex wife, the children and the barmy conversion guy, and it just doesn't hang together.

Todd wasn't particularly needy in the first place, so it seems to be stretching it a bit to have what started as a one night stand with Theo so suddenly result in his moving in and dominating the relationship - particularly when it's all very much on Todd's territory. Todd has lived there since childhood, he works there, has friends there and it's his house. None of those things would matter if the relationship seemed more credible, but (to me at least) it just doesn't.

Calendargirl Sun 07-Sept-25 10:07:18

Well, we must be looking at different Brodys!

To me, his hair is so greasy looking it looks like you could fry chips in it. 🍟

He and Dylan make a right pair. And how Brody expects to be taken seriously in looking after his sisters is pathetic when he is back to stealing all the time.

We never hear anything about Max now, forgotten about since he is in prison somewhere.

I think Brodie is a good looking lad, and I like his hair me too Doodledog doesn’t look greasy to me at all
I must have missed something as I didn’t realise him and Dylan were so close buddies as to be in cahoots over the car doings until this last few episodes Have the girls gone completely since the older one slapped the smaller one
