Bagpuss is making a comeback!

My DD loved Bagpuss. She was glued to the TV when it was on.

Toys not toes!!

My son bought me a Bagpuss but I was shocked to discover he was pink!... I still have him though, nestled in a basket of soft toes some belonging to DH and the rest to Molly the dog. BTW can very highly recommend Oliver Postgate's wonderful memoire....

Educational too, as I learned that yaffle is an old English name for a green woodpecker. (It was Professor Yaffle).

I loved the mice on the mice organ, Charlie Mouse in particular, so cute.

How we all loved that 'saggy old cloth cat'.

It was my daughter's favourite programme - but guess what her name is!

Sandra Kerr ( Nancy Kerr’s mother) did the music for Bagpuss. There is a Folk on Foot podcast in which she talks about it on a walk by the river in Warkworth where she lives. Her house ( lucky her) is close to the river*.It’s one of my favourite walks. I always think I’ll see mole and ratty row by in a little boat. My Bagpuss lives alongside my Clangers.
*mind you, it does flood a lot…

I think it used to be shown on Sunday mornings. I remember watching it with my children.
