I have to say I was not keen on the girls/women. One was very surly. I liked Tony who became a jockey and the posh one who did not appear in some of the later programmes. He was a private school boy who wanted to be a judge.
I am surprised I didn’t even notice the ratio of girls to boys until later. There were more than twice as many boys as there was girls. It says a lot about the times and attitudes at that time.
The latest Up is to be shown next year . I have watched from the first programme and found it fascinating. The children who were interviewed whdn they were 7 are now 70 and those who have followed their stories will be as pleased as I am that despite Michael Apted’s death a couple of years ago it is to be continued as was his wish. I think they should start again with 7 year olds who have come through COVID necause comparing snd go trashing lives of children in the 50 s is very different to those born this century. It’s a fascinating watch.
I have followed 7 Up since I first watched as part of my social work studies. Michael Apted who began this long story of children in the 60 s died a couple of years ago and 70 Up was in doubt but it’s being filmed and released next year, I for one am looking gireatd to it .
