Celebrity Traitors - may the oldies rule!

Celebrity Traitors starts tonight at 8 pm.

I'm looking forward to it, there's some reasonably good brains competing.
At least two of the contestants are pensioners - Celia Imrie (Calendar Girls, Marigold Hotel etc) and the erudite Sir Stephen Fry.

I loved it - although Alan Carr is a delight, I think that they all have something to offer. I’ve only seen the first one so far, so haven’t read the thread in case it gives anything away.

I’ve always liked Clare Balding but agree with the poster upthread who said she’s like a Head Girl.
When she took early command of the Trojan Horse task she handed over to Tom like a fellow presenter.
I guess old habits die hard.
David Olusoga has hardly uttered a word.

Thought I would watch an episode as it was a celebrity one (my daughter watches the non celebrity one and said it is good.)

Thought it was boring, so won't bother with any more.

I wish the BBC would invest their money in better programming.

Allira I was a fan of Tom Daley until this week!
I can't believe how unpleasant he seems. And so "full of himself".

What a pity!

Are we allowed to use names now as first murder is over and shouldn’t be spoiling it for anybody

I don't see why not.

If anyone wants to watch it on catch-up, don't read the thread!

I learnt that myself with a different programme I was going to watch on catch-up.

They are the same unless one gets banished.

Tom Daley is pretty puffed up in my opinion!

Aw, poor Tom!
Lovely boy from Plymouth! 😁

As I've never watched before, are the Traitors the same all the way through the programmes or are different ones chosen at the end of each completed task?

Stephen Fry ?

kircubbin2000 Fri 10-Oct-25 10:27:20

Who is the puffed up guy and what was his mistake?. We need to use names or it doesn't make sense.

merlotgran Fri 10-Oct-25 09:27:41

I’m going to name people otherwise this thread is pointless.

keepingquiet Fri 10-Oct-25 09:23:02

I didn't know we weren't allowed to use names, but I shall avoid doing so from now on!

I was shocked when the funny guy did what he did to the pale haired woman- maybe there's more to him than meets the eye- which is the reason why this is such great television.

Also the puffed-up guy doesn't know nearly as much as he thinks he does and can't tell a fictional character from a real person as he revealed last night!

The cliff-hanger ending was torture as well- this is by far the best thing on television because boy do they know how to manipulate their audience...

jandj that's part of the enjoyment, if the viewer didn't know who the Traitors were it wouldn't be much of a programme, no turret discussions, no traitor on traitor disloyalty just the same confusion enjoyed by the faithfuls.

kittylester Fri 10-Oct-25 07:36:26

It is not usually so macabre - i suspect that it has been ramped up as it's celebs.

JamesandJon33 Fri 10-Oct-25 03:26:49

I have never watched any Traitors before , but thought to watch this one as there were a fair number of celebrities I could put a name to, and I did enjoy it. However I mistakenly thought that the viewers also wouldn’t know who the traitors were and would have to work that one out. So just a little disappointed.

Allira Thu 09-Oct-25 23:06:52

I was sorry too, I'd rather it was one of the someone elses I've never heard of!

Allira Thu 09-Oct-25 23:05:45

It is very macabre!!

BlueBelle Thu 09-Oct-25 23:04:28

The non celebrity ones are brilliant too JaxJacky

I m so sorry who the first one out is someone I really like (not sure if we re giving names yet in case anyone’s watching on catch up) but that wasn’t who I would want to go out first
They were very funny on the BBC2 programme afterwards

Jaxjacky Thu 09-Oct-25 22:11:25

First time watch for us, 2 episodes back to back, not sure if I’d watch the non celeb one, but I’m enjoying these.

lemsip Thu 09-Oct-25 21:17:58

I am hooked.

Allira Thu 09-Oct-25 21:01:13

Well, here we go.
Sit back with the 🍿

foxie48 Thu 09-Oct-25 20:56:48

I watched the first episode this evening and it did not disappoint. I think it will be a really good series and a lot of fun.

kittylester Thu 09-Oct-25 18:40:44

I quite like Clare Balding.

Allira Thu 09-Oct-25 18:27:48

I hugely enjoyed the whole thing, being a newcomer to Traitors. It was much better than I anticipated and I really like most of the celebs. Alan Carr is just brilliantly funny. I'm not sure how the murders get carried out so I'm really looking forward to this evening. Yay 😁

I don't know either but I'm presuming that they're not real!!
