It works for me as well. I often watch an old Midsomer Murders or Foyles War on ITV3 until I feel my eyes going. I rarely get to the end but that doesn’t matter because I’ve seen them all before. 😂
Reading tends to wake me up. It’s more of an afternoon pleasure and I’ve never really got on with audio books.

I just find it works for me.
I’ll look for seaside hotel. I use subtitles a lot anyway

Anyway, I love Seaside Hotel (on 4)
Very calming, beautiful camerawork and great characters (including stock ones).
Also, lots of episodes over several series!

Perhaps it's a bit like taking a child out in the car when you want to overstimulate a child to sleep!
Too much going on with the TV!

I watch TV, with subtitles, to aid falling asleep.
I'm trying to think why that works and just audio doesn't, as l listen to the radio until l want to sleep then put a TV programme on my phone. l must need the visual imagery.

Seaside Hotel - but it has subtitles.

Why watch something if you want to sleep though? I find this confusing as surely you have to keep your eyes open?
Could you maybe try radio or an audio book?

I like to watch something light in bed to help me sleep. I like light detective series and old films . Any suggestions?
