Kym Marsh is the imposter I think.. giving it a watch to see what I think

Yes, I know what you mean Calendargirl - hanging on, thinking it might get better. But I think I can now sniff out which of these dramas is going to end up as a hysterical load of nonsense.

Eloethan

I've been silly enough to watch too many of these ridiculous dramas. I wasn't reeled in this time.

But we always think ‘perhaps this one will be a good one!’

Calendargirl thank you for wralping it up for me.

Mojack26 Sat 20-Dec-25 23:22:54

BlueBelle that sounds even worse🤣

Curlywhirly Sat 20-Dec-25 23:17:45

Oh dear, I seem to be in the minority, I quite enjoyed it 🙄 it was easy to watch, no gratuitous violence, and had a happy ending! I agree, it was far fetched, a bit wooden and Helen's wig was very distracting. Also, I have no idea why they put Kym Marsh in clothes that were far too young for her. Despite all that, I persevered with it and it helped pass a few mindless hours!

It started poorly and went down hill. It was dreadful.

I feel such a fool for watching it to the end.

4allweknow Sat 20-Dec-25 19:10:11

Was so obvious from the first go. Only watched 1 episode.

Junglebub Sat 20-Dec-25 18:51:52

I couldn't get past the first episode - too dull and far-fetched!

Charleygirl5 Sat 20-Dec-25 16:23:17

I agree, there were many loose ends, but I would prefer to watch paint dry than sit through that again. I kept thinking it would improve, but no joy.

There were some bits I enjoyed, but there was little else to watch.

Roswell Sat 20-Dec-25 16:13:31

Very disappointing, it felt like watching a soap opera but I must admit we only wanted half an hour before giving up.

Barbadosbelle

Calendargirl

I only watched the first episode when they asked for a DNA test, to which the 'suspect' agreed.

What happened with that?
.
.

I think I heard Simon say that it proved it was her, he didn't show the results to anybody though, but that's because he was in on the plot.

It was a bit over the top but I was hooked and had to see it through till the end.

For me, it lacked credibility, which is often the case in tv dramas, but this was one of the poorer ones. The characters were mostly unlikeable, particularly the mother!

cookiemonster66 Sat 20-Dec-25 14:25:07

worst tv drama I have seen all year! how they even got the funding for such a rubbish show is beyond me, and what about that WIG!!!! awful story line, and plot, I just could not understand why this was even aired

Kandinsky Sat 20-Dec-25 14:08:16

I literally lasted 2 minutes.
A record for me.

Jojo1950 Sat 20-Dec-25 13:45:07

My other half wanted to watch it so I did too.
Not the best production but then it’s Australian!
It was just like a boring Soap! Actors very wooden and the script! Sorry just my thoughts.

I fell asleep at the very end. I saw Clare/Kim go over the cliff. I saw real daughter arrive. Was that it?
Maybe I didnt fall asleep after all and they all lived happily ever after.

Yep, that was more or less ‘it’.

Todd had surgery and was recovering after being run over by dastardly Claire.

Somehow she also got the blame for the death of the bad lad and bad girl.

Helen and The Wig embraced and apologised to Lee, the boyfriend of poor dead Ian.

And it all looked set for a happy relationship with new adopted daughter and probably also with good old Bill, the father.

The End (hoping there is never a sequel).

I didn't stick with it. Once they show couples all over each other it is a turn off for me.

Dottydots Fri 19-Dec-25 17:49:27

I watched it all but it was a bit over the top really. By the end if Simon hadn't pushed "Amanda" over the cliff, I think that I would have.

Grannynannywanny Fri 19-Dec-25 13:36:46

There were so many loose ends and unanswered questions it looks like they’ve left it ripe for a follow up series.

I’ll not be drawn in again 😆

Calendargirl Fri 19-Dec-25 13:17:47

It was pretty awful, but it sort of hooked you in.

Would Helen keep wearing that dreadful wig, or would one of the hairdressing team run a comb through and make it look better?

Would the Kym Marsh character keep wearing those short, ‘flippy’ skirts which frankly she looked a bit too old for?

Why did the siblings not gang up together and insist on seeing proper proof that she really was the long lost adopted sister? (Oh, of course, brother Simon was in on the whole thing, plus enjoying torrid sex with ‘Amanda’ (Claire) in a next door bedroom).

Why was the mother such a domineering, controlling old so and so, instead of letting her family take more responsibility and help to run the hotel properly?

And why on earth did she sign the POA after ‘Amanda’ had been so nasty to her?

Just needed Jill Halfpenny to turn up as the real Amanda, instead of Danni Minogue.

Greenfinch Fri 19-Dec-25 09:13:13

Glad I didn’t bother to watch it. It sounds awful !

Grannynannywanny Fri 19-Dec-25 08:22:12

I stuck with it but was left wondering why I bothered. It was like a bad soap. If it wasn’t for the cringey sex scenes it could have been tucked away in the channel 5 afternoon schedule where there seems to be an endless run of boring movies.
