We did the Bergen to Oslo train journey with DH a few years ago, in March when it was still very snowy. It was wonderful - I’d like to do it again in the summer. After Oslo, we took the train on to Stockholm, then over the famous bridge to Copenhagen and finally to Dresden. It was a great holiday, with good stops to explore each of the cities.

I love train journey progs, especially in mountainous scenery. The most beautiful we’ve been on was in the Bernese Oberland. We stayed at Wengen and did the round trip, up to Kleine Scheidegge, down to Grindelwald, then back round to Lauterbrunnen and Wengen. Absolutely stunning! I wish we’d gone up to the top of the Eiger - that’s on my bucket list, along with the Bernina Express. Swiss trains are top class.…

Thank you for this recommendation. We love this type of programme and my autistic son, who, in common with many other autistic men is obsessed with trains, will be with us later so we can watch it to.

Thanks for the recommendation - I watched it last night. Lovely programmes - but I had to turn the radiator up a notch!

We too enjoyed it. There has been a series of trains from above narrated by Hugh Bonniville that have also been interesting and lovely to watch.

maybe I should dig a bit further. I could only see the 2 on the channel 4 app

I shall catch up with this programme It sounds well worth watching, I imagine the scenery of Norway is spectacular, so I look forward to it, later today, perhaps.

I think High Bonniville on an alpine train is very appropriate! grin

JaneJudge Sun 28-Dec-25 22:02:18

I’m sorry that auto correct decided to make me look ridiculous 😂

JaneJudge Sun 28-Dec-25 22:01:03

The Nordic train and the alpine train at Christmas (2 separate episodes) High Bonniville does the narration
Very gentle smile filming and scenery
