The Million Pound Shaman Scam

Yes I watched it and also watched the second part. It's like another world isn't it?
I stayed in Hampstead once and thought it was quite normal- but watching this and also recalling another scam there involving alleged child abuse has made me realise it is full of very strange people indeed.
All those supposedly penniless people still seem to live in very nice homes...not that I'm defending that clearly dangerous woman.

I watched it and was amazed how naive those people were, with all their wealth. Psychological vulnerability was a common factor, though, and the scammer knew how to target it. Astonishing, and a good watch.

Yes, I watched it with my jaw dropped!
Such extraordinary naivety, such huge sums of money, and such shocking wickedness.
This terrible woman took wads of cash (literally ) from people desperate for help for sick relatives and friends, " threatened" her friendly osteopath with cancer, and told a woman to abort her longed for baby.
All of this for designer handbags...I hope that her conscience bothers her, but I suspect not.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that she has a new scam going right now.

Would you abort a 'longed for' baby, though? And pay lots of money to someone for suggesting it? This particular matter I really struggled with.

Looking back, I wish there had been more on the scammer's methods. The chiropracter was convinced when he got a mobile call in a pub, supposedly a message from his spirit guide, telling him it was bad for his health and he should leave the pub straight away. She must have been monitoring him extensively.

In the end the journalist said there was far more investigating to do and so I hope there are updates on this truly bizarre case.

I did miss the very beginning so may have to go back and watch it again!

But yes, extraordinary wasn't it and a shame she is back 'At large' again.Shame for the victims, each damaged in some way.

Yes, we watched it - TBH pretty open mouthed at apparently intelligent people falling for what would seem such a blatantly unbelievable means of relieving people of huge amounts of money.

But I could say much the same for many other stories of scams that apparently intelligent people fall for.

No doubt those of sound rational mind cannot ever see themselves falling victim.to any kind of scam. But unforeseen circumstances can make any of us suddenly vulnerable to those who are looking out for just such people and I do feel that any one of us, given the right conditions affecting our mental state, could fall victim. I do wish people wouldn't be so judgemental and lacking in sympathy for those falling prey to these despicable but very clever manipulative scammers. There but for the grace of God......
