New thread.

Yes I admit that, thankfully, I have no experience of the situation Todd is in.
I an aware however how it can, sadly in some cases go on for years, but we are talking here about a soap storyline, where things usually progress at lightning speed!

I’m sure great care has been taken though to make Todd’s experience as true to life as possible.

We have already seen that in an episode in April, a body is discovered so speculation is mounting about the victim.

Yes, that will be the next thing, won't it? The body and whodunnit. I think Maggie, Mal and Theo, all with very short tempers, could possibly lose the plot and murder someone.

Calendargirl Fri 27-Mar-26 12:58:07

The Mal/Bernie storyline is absolutely hopeless.

Bernie is no ‘femme fatale’, she and Dev are totally miscast with each other.

Mal, I’m afraid, is unfanciable, even for Bernie.

I had no idea football was on last night. There should be a separate channel for sports because I don't think it should take over prime TV times.

BlueBelle Sat 28-Mar-26 05:45:00

I totally agree Charley I have always said there should be a separate channel for sport
The majority paying the TV licence will be older people and we are the ‘soapers’

Calendargirl Sat 28-Mar-26 07:39:38

There is a Corrie episode on Sunday, 7.30 before new series of Grace.

When Todd jumped up at the end was he rushing to Theo or to tell George to keep out of it or to claim the ready made bed?

I think it will be the 2nd scenario.

Don't you hate it when messages are put up on phones? I always have to pause back track to properly read the text.

Doodledog Sat 28-Mar-26 16:39:05

I wondered that, too, and then decided that he opened the door to leave the flat (presumably to go to George's house). I hope so.

Thanks for the heads up, Calendargirl. Why don't they advertise rescheduled episodes, or have them available on ITVX so that people can see them whenever they want to.

Charleygirl5 Sat 28-Mar-26 17:24:51

Jodieb that irritates me also. I am partially sighted so would never be able to read them.

I think Todd was going to George to tell him he loves Theo, and keep out of it.

Phones on tv screen

I had no idea football was on last night. There should be a separate channel for sports because I don't think it should take over prime TV times.

It was some pointless England friendly that would only appeal to hardcore football fans. Really it could have been put on ITV2 or shown on a sports channel as it was a meaningless game. On Tuesday people looking forward to the soaps and a drama at 9pm will have yet another England friendly instead.

Doodledog Sun 29-Mar-26 20:41:37

If anything is going to stop me watching Corrie it is the rescheduling. I dislike the later time, as (for me) sitting down to a fairly mindless watch is my divider between daytime and evening, which works better at 7.30 than at 8.30. We've usually finished eating by 7.30 and I'm ready to wind down. By 8.30 if there is nothing worth watching on TV I am doing something else, and it's a pain to stop whatever it is for the sake of a half hour episode - it just gets in the way.

I sometimes stream it earlier, but as so much of Corrie is about habit for me I don't do so often. If they are going to move it even more often for football it might put me off altogether.

Aveline Sun 29-Mar-26 21:02:38

I just record it and watch it to suit me. I agree that 8.30 is an inconvenient time.

Go Gary!
Todd don't even think of moving away from the Street.

Doodledog Sun 29-Mar-26 22:49:13

I’d miss Todd, too. I hope he’s rescued before being dragged off to Belfast.

Bukkie Sun 29-Mar-26 23:07:11

I was cheering Gary on from the sidelines. If anyone can save Todd from evil Theo and give him a taste of his own medicine it's Gary. It's about time Gary had a juicy storyline.

Doodledog Mon 30-Mar-26 06:11:57

Yes, Gary has been on the sidelines a lot lately. He deserves a decent story. I hope this isn’t his swan song though.

Lovetopaint037 Mon 30-Mar-26 06:38:19

Theo realises the game is up and best to take poor Todd away to Ireland. Poor Todd just when you think he. is going to man up and see the situation for what it is he backs down. Gary and George to the rescue.

BlueBelle Mon 30-Mar-26 07:42:50

Well how Earth did I miss the Sunday Corrie I went through the TV Guide twice to try and find something to watch and never saw it advertised !!!
Thank goodness for iPad that ll be my sit down fir coffee this afternoon time then
I can’t believe that!!! it was dire last night and I couldn’t find a thing worth watching

Calendargirl Mon 30-Mar-26 08:37:25

I put a reminder that it was on at 7.30 yesterday BlueBelle, sorry you missed it.

It was followed by a new series of ‘Grace’, the usual police drama, but it was ok.

nanaK54 Mon 30-Mar-26 22:11:11

Dear goodness my heart skipped a beat when that iron was involved.
Bless George with his 'escape bag'.

Charleygirl5 Mon 30-Mar-26 22:33:24

nanaK I felt the same, I thought that Todd was about to have his arm grabbed, and the iron burn the back of is hand. I think it was close-run.

I wish Megan would leave, preferably leaving Will in Weatherfield. I do hope he doesn't decide to follow her, being so much "in love" with her.

BlueBelle Mon 30-Mar-26 22:40:29

No problem I caught up with it on my iPad Calandergirl it’s just weird that it didn’t show up on the screen guide
I think Will will follow Megan especially if he believes she’s having his child I wish Maggie would toddle off too

JenniferEccles Mon 30-Mar-26 22:48:11

It was significant that Todd was also obviously scared about what Theo could do with the iron.

Was it wise of George to give Todd an ‘escaping’ bag containing his important documents ? Wouldn’t it have been more sensible for George to have kept them safely at his house?

How long before said bag is found by Theo ?

Calendargirl Tue 31-Mar-26 07:02:11

Why does he need an ‘escape’ bag?

Can’t he just leave and go to George’s, with his passport and other vital paperwork in his coat pocket?

Pretty obvious Theo will soon discover such a bag just dumped in a cupboard.

Calendargirl Tue 31-Mar-26 07:06:27

JenniferEccles.

Todd still won’t accept the risk that is posed by Theo, so he wouldn’t be giving his paperwork to George to keep safe.

Plus if Theo said “Where’s your passport?”, he would be in deep trouble.

(Actually, Theo probably already has control of his passport and other documents)
