New thread.

pinkprincess - It's the same as them all working on their own doorstep, getting a job without an interview, not needing childcare, being seen by a doctor not only on the same day but face to face (what a novelty that is), everyone having everyone else's mobile numbers and all being able to eat every meal out.

pinkprincess Tue 10-Feb-26 21:11:23

It is amazing how characters in Corrie always get sent to the same prison?

Grannynannywanny Tue 10-Feb-26 18:55:45

It wouldn’t surprise me if they make Lou one of the many reformed characters in Corrie. Give her a couple more episodes and she’ll be best friends with Debbie.

Calendargirl Tue 10-Feb-26 17:51:41

Oh no, Debbie’s imprisonment has resulted in the ghastly Lou making an unwelcome return.

Let’s hope it’s just temporary.

Fill me in when you’ve watched it please Bukkie. I’ve the same baffle as you. 🤨

Bukkie Sat 07-Feb-26 13:50:31

I need to rewatch the Corriedale episode because I am baffled why Debbie is being blamed solely for the crash. Hadn't the pile up happened before Carl and Debbie arrived on the scene?

Aveline Sat 07-Feb-26 09:52:48

How dare you!

Clawdy Sat 07-Feb-26 08:35:42

That Dev pic is hilarious!

Calendargirl Sat 07-Feb-26 08:25:33

I’m no expert on prison, thankfully, but surely someone with dementia would be given more leeway than just being jailed?

Yes, she was drunk driving and someone was killed (yes, I know not Debbie) but even so, an open prison maybe?

We read in the News about murderers absconding from open prisons whilst on day release, so poor Deb seems much less risk.

BlueBelle Sat 07-Feb-26 08:12:38

🤣🤣🤣 it’s hilarious isn’t it
Poor Debbie back in hospital but tethered this time

Environmental Health would have a field day at Roy's Rolls.
Any passer=by can pop behind the counter and start serving it seems. We had that awful Jodie recently and now Mal. Comes from upstairs, doesn't wash his hands and just starts handling customers food and nobody bats an eyelid.

Dylis Fri 06-Feb-26 22:56:16

Not sure I would be keen on a random bloke cooking my sausage, egg and chips!
Health and safety would have a field day. Im not really sure what electrical work Mal has actually employed to do.

Calendargirl Fri 06-Feb-26 20:47:43

Hope Mal washed his hands before cooking the ham, egg and chips.

And put a pinny on.

Maggiemaybe

I can’t imagine that Maggie from the Rovers would have put up with Lauren’s attitude for a single shift though. And customers would be walking out, surely, if she spoke to them the way she does.

I wonder if she’s still in touch with Max? Nobody else seems to remember him.

I think Maggie might see a bit of herself in Lauren.

Devorgilla Thu 05-Feb-26 16:28:58

Most of the clientele of The Rovers are personal friends of everyone else so I guess that's why they tolerate it. Wonder if Debbie's been sent down yet.

BlueBelle Thu 05-Feb-26 15:51:02

theworriedwell I like Lauren too I think she plays a good part

Calendargirl Thu 05-Feb-26 15:47:53

Max is long forgotten, alongside Daisy, Jenny, Craigy, Beth, Tim’s daughter whose name escapes me, …..

How soon we forget…

Bukkie Thu 05-Feb-26 14:56:56

Calendargirl I am baffled as to why they are making Lauren as rude as possible. I suspect Frankie is in the 24 hr childcare facility alongside Glory, the quads, Bertie, Alfie and Harry.

I love Lauren, she's a proper Corrie character in the line of Ena Sharples and Blanche. Bit young but I think she does it well.

Sarnia Thu 05-Feb-26 07:31:22

I thought the scenes with Debbie and Carl were very good. I almost felt sorry for Carl, almost.

Aveline Thu 05-Feb-26 06:52:23

I thought Debbie was doing well and acting the part well to begin with but overegged it towards the end.

Calendargirl Thu 05-Feb-26 06:50:17

Why on earth was Lauren doing her nails when she was meant to be working?

That and her rude, mardy attitude would mean the sack, I would have thought.

And of course, as pointed out so many times, Frankie never seems to be mentioned nowadays.

So much for being such a devoted mother.

BlueBelle Wed 04-Feb-26 22:24:48

Didn’t Debbie do well? her acting was superb tonight

Grannynannywanny Wed 04-Feb-26 21:40:59

Poor Debbie. That was a heart wrenching performance. I wonder if Carl will quickly come round to the idea of being Debbie’s son when he thinks of his inheritance.
