New thread.

As has been mentioned before, Roy’s cardigan doesn’t give off perfect hygiene vibes.

They would all look cleaner, smarter and more of a team if they wore matching aprons, tabards, overalls….

A lady who worked at our local butchers had long hair, and she wore a lovely ‘snood’ with her cap, hair neatly out of the way.

Looked so smart.

vegansrock Sun 25-Jan-26 06:55:38

I wonder what the hygiene rating is for Roys Rolls? Nina with her hair all over the place, Bernie, Shona and now Jodie - have any of them got a hygiene certificate? I would have expected Roy to be more of a stickler for the rules. Looks like poor Roy is about to be catfished.

Too much to hope that Carl and Jodie hit it off and she clears off to Germany with him.

I thought she was staying at David and Shona’s for one night, now she seems to have set up permanent residence.

No one seems to expect her to get a proper job and contribute to her food and accommodation costs, particularly as she has never been mentioned before, ever.

Sam has grown up.

At least the other boy who Megan had been carrying on with looked a bit older than mardy Will.

It’s a horrible storyline.

Back to Carla and Lisa fawning over each other every touch and turn.

And Betsy, who never seems to work, always with numerous bags of shopping.

He looks a bit older but that's probably why she dropped him. She likes them young.

theworriedwell Sat 24-Jan-26 20:27:55

I quoted the wrong post. Should have been Calendargirl questioning Lisa never being in work.

pinkprincess Sat 24-Jan-26 18:49:56

Does Lisa ever have to go in to work? I don’t know how Weathy Police Station keeps functioning, as since Craigy died and Lisa is never there, it must all be down to Kit.

I hope Jodie washed her hands before stepping in to the breach at the cafe. No instruction on how to work anything, but just tie an apron on and off we go.

Is this not the only way people get jobs in all soap operas?
Appear out of the blue, just happen to be standing around when a shop/ cafe/ garage/ pub/ factory gets suddenly short of staff and desperately needs help?
No question of suitability, experience or references at all. Come on you start now.
If only real life was like this.

Abi will be lucky because Kevin rarely has a civil word for anybody.

Has the garage closed down?

I thought Abi was going to go back to work at the garage?

Going to wheedle her way back into Kevin’s good books (and heart).

BlueBelle Sat 24-Jan-26 08:09:02

No it’s still running but with no workers Findingnemo

I didn't like the 'Karen' reference.

Wasn't she put on leave for stress or something?

The Jodie filling in at the cafe story was ridiculous
So Will is now learning about precious Megan I hope she gets done for child abuse because obviously they weren’t 16 when this all started
The Family are doing my head in, only the little girl is any good. Maggie is so awful she d be my downfall if I knew her

I thought perhaps there had been a football match and episodes were out of order. I never watched Father Ted so I have no previous experience of the Maggie actress but she is driving me mad. I do like the rest of the family and I am warming to sullen Will. His naivety is going to turn into heartbreak soon and I already feel sorry for him.

harrigran Thu 22-Jan-26 10:14:44

I too thought ai had missed an episode when watching last night. The whole episode was disjointed.
If they don't get rid of Maggie I am going to have to stop watching, she really irritates me.

Doodledog Thu 22-Jan-26 09:59:14

I felt I'd missed an episode too, Bukkie. I was wondering whether the changed schedule had confused me, but the truth is that I just don't pay attention these days. When Todd and Theo are on I stop what I'm doing and watch, but when it's a lot of the others I'm not very interested, so have it on in the background but am busy doing other things. I think I listen to, rather than watch most of it.

Calendargirl Thu 22-Jan-26 07:21:33

I felt like I had missed an episode. How did Tyrone get into the flat to see Carl? Why was Lisa writing to Carla? Are they back together? Please no! Was it Kevin texting Roy? Why is Lauren allowed to speak to customer so rudely? Why isn't Sean more upset about Billy? I am sure they were a couple for a while? Time for bed I think. 🤔

I don’t know how Ty got into the flat, I assume Carl let him in. Ty has gone from being wheelchair bound to being able to wrestle folk, albeit he ended up on the floor. Progress though.

No, it wasn’t Kevin, I don’t think, but couldn’t read the text.

No idea how Lauren holds down her job at the pub, as she is such a mardy, sullen little madam, although the way Maggie spoke to her was atrocious.

Gemma never seems to be working now.
Perhaps she is minding Frankie now the quads are at school, as Lauren never seems to do much parenting.

vegansrock Thu 22-Jan-26 06:43:41

You can see it on ITVX at anytime on the day bluebelle

BlueBelle Thu 22-Jan-26 05:40:38

Lisa and Carla are back together Bukkieas at the and they were cuddled up together or did I dream that up

I think everyone leaves their doors open as they do in Emmerdale everyone just walks in

Another night around the horrible family (apart from the little girl (who is a great little actress)
The stories seem to be almost made up on the spot The eldest sons suddenly got a bad heart !!!! It’s all soooo ridiculous
I m really going off Corrie still hanging in by a thread mainly because there’s nothing else
I don’t mind the daily half hour change but I don’t like it at 8 pm I d prefer 7 or 7.30 as it always was I.m twiddling my fingers from 7 to 8

Clawdy Wed 21-Jan-26 15:02:45

Jodie was nasty, telling Lily she would not be loved as much as the new baby.Obviously on an agenda here, trying to spoil Shona's life. Will she try and take David from her sister!?

Bukkie Wed 21-Jan-26 13:30:26

Apart from Maggie I like the new family. That fall was so ridiculous I actually rewound it to check I hadn't imagined it. iI always like Eva when she was in Corrie previously.

BlueBelle Wed 21-Jan-26 10:54:16

I was very disappointed with last nights episode all about ‘that family’ and afraid I can’t stand them, the mother spoils it all for me.
Get her out over acting and not at all right for the part

theworriedwell Wed 21-Jan-26 10:35:53

Eva’s mother in law is turning the whole thing into a farce, all the stupid facial expressions etc.
And how can Ben let her speak to Eva like that.
He is trying to keep the peace but it’s Never going to work.

She bailed him out with finance for the pub, gave her power.
