New thread.

Calendargirl Wed 03-Jun-26 07:00:01

Another strange, disjointed episode.

I thought both Shona and David had more or less told Jodie to never darken their door again, hence her sofa surfing at Daniel’s, but it’s as if all that’s been forgotten, she waltzes into their house all the time, and is now welcome to stay again.

Not sure what Todd’s phone has to do with proving Summer’s innocence, all a muddle.

I am heartily sick of Jodie. I can't make out what it is that she wants. Whatever it is, I hope all will be made clear very soon and she can clear off.

Bukkie Wed 03-Jun-26 09:15:56

Swain has to be the least discreet police officer ever discussing cases over breakfast, in the café, in the street etc... Sarnia I too am sick of Jodie, I can't work her or her motives out and can't be bothered. I know Daniel is very popular on this thread but he deserves all he gets in my opinion. He is constantly inflicting new mummies on Bertie, he is always palming the poor child off on anyone who will look after him, he behaves inappropriately at work and then plays the victim, he is very patronising to people to name but a few of his traits. And finally when is Harper coming home or is she going straight from Special Care to school. I had two premature babies and spent time in SCBU but I don't remember many babies being in this long. Phew!

Mopsie Wed 03-Jun-26 09:33:27

The problem with Jodie is the writers haven’t given us any clues! Apart from every chaos causing action being deliberate and planned, we have nothing so we don’t care! And there’s the Emmerdale link and HOW LONG ARE WE GOING TO SUFFER?!

Aveline Wed 03-Jun-26 09:36:18

Is there a clue when Daniel called her a psychopath? She's done such nasty things to so many people.

Dylis Wed 03-Jun-26 09:44:11

I think the writers haven't a clue what to do with Jodie. So many unanswered questions and not a shred of reality about anything she does.
What happened to the box of trophies she had collected. Brian's book, Bernie"s photograph etc?
Lily weeping and wailing when she left David and Shona's house. She hasn't bothered since.
Her Dad in the nursing home.
The thugs who threatened Shona.
The young girl who arrived and was apparently her charge as a nanny.
Assaulting Sarah when she walked into David's house.
Im so bored with it all.

Grannynannywanny Wed 03-Jun-26 09:56:40

The ongoing tedious saga of Jodie’s escapades is making me lose interest in watching Corrie. The scriptwriters seem to be all over the place with it. It’s time they brought it to a conclusion if they have actually thought of one. Hopefully they don’t dump her back in Emmerdale and spoil that programme.

Aveline Wed 03-Jun-26 10:22:24

I'm sure Jodie's horrible behaviour will turn out to be part of a bigger plot.

Dylis Wed 03-Jun-26 10:53:02

Was she actually in Emmerdale?

Grannynannywanny Wed 03-Jun-26 11:10:32

Dylis

Was she actually in Emmerdale?

Her first appearance was in the Corriedale crossover episode. She escaped from a van during the multiple vehicle crash. My memory is hazy on it now but I think she was tied up in the back of a van and broke free and escaped. She then ended up a patient in the same hospital as Shona and David. She spotted Shona and wormed her way into their lives from that point.

It’s either escaped my attention or yet to be revealed why she was being held captive in the van. I’ve reached the stage that I don’t really care 😄

Dylis Wed 03-Jun-26 11:27:45

Thanks for that. I remember her suddenly appearing in the same hospital as Shona and David but wasn't sure if she was a character in Emmerdale.
She was caught out by Shona when she told someone that Harper was her baby. Not exactly a forgettable white lie.
Bored with all the nonsense and just want her and the ridiculous storyline gone!

Maggiemaybe Wed 03-Jun-26 11:39:57

Oh, I so agree about Jodie - let’s hope she goes soon, with or without an explanation, and that this time she doesn’t just skulk about behind cars and up ginnels with her hood up as she did last time she “disappeared”.

As for Swain and her constant chit chat about cases she’s supposedly working on… We have police officers in the family and had a big police raid on a house on our street recently. Despite DH’s best efforts to trip them up and winkle out some information 😂, we know no more about it than any of the other neighbours or local rumourmongers. And we never will.

Aveline Wed 03-Jun-26 12:48:15

What no pub or cafe in your street Maggiemaybe? Even the bench outside Audrey's or the bus stop seat might be a good location for you.

sodapop Wed 03-Jun-26 13:11:58

Agree with you Grannynannywanny Jodie's story is tedious in the extreme, disjointed and totally unrealistic ( yes I know it's not real) I am tired of her character too.

Calendargirl Wed 03-Jun-26 13:50:16

Has Swain’s warrant card (the one Jodie stole) ever turned up?

No one, least of all Lisa, seems bothered about its disappearance.

Shona gets on my nerves also, she’s either flying off the handle with David, or cuddling up to him.

Mind you, David is either swigging from a bottle of beer or lolling on the sofa.

What a family, they all deserve each other.

glasses Wed 03-Jun-26 14:23:01

Jodie is so boring, I thought I had lost the plot but there doesn't seem to be one.
Most of the furniture in Corrie seems to be black now and the walls are navy or dark grey, so depressing.

Happygirl79 Wed 03-Jun-26 14:40:44

I think that Swain must be the worst detective possible. She seems to have no imagination whatsoever. She waits for someone to hand her a suspect until will take action. The storyline is now becoming tedious. Will every single occupant in the street be arrested to allow this to go on and on until we all give up and switch off? The script writers are pretty poor right now in my opinion. Endless arrests, fights, hospital visits. It's like they've run out of ideas.
The Jodie character is just a " filler " and seems to be going nowhere.

honeyrose Wed 03-Jun-26 15:49:37

I agree that the Jodie character’s story is going nowhere, no hints as to when her background story will reveal itself. It’s getting very tiresome. Why do I still watch it - I’ve no idea! There always seems to be a psycho on the Street and Jodie’s the latest in a long line. Please put her in a Street Cars taxi with a “one way ticket”, never to be seen again.

Dottydots Wed 03-Jun-26 16:13:22

honeyrose, please tell Jodie that I'm happy to pay for her taxi.
Good riddance!

nanaK54 Wed 03-Jun-26 16:33:38

I'm so pleased that Adam left Daniel in the flat, hopefully he will stir from his drunken stupor and completely panic when Bertie is nowhere to be found.

BlueBelle Wed 03-Jun-26 17:01:17

Just to clarify about Jodie I watch Emmerdale and have never seen or heard of her in Emmerdale as far as I know,
I ve not even heard a reference to her, I ve no idea why she was tied up in a van either.
I not convinced Hope is a changed character she seemed pretty scary being nice to Daniel.
I didn’t realise that in real life Daniel has a tremor that he has to try to control when acting he said it may at sone point have to be written in to the story

Bukkie Fri 05-Jun-26 08:51:59

Gosh I find Daniel foul. He is 100% to blame for Bertie using the microwave and nearly setting the flat on fire yet stands in the pub shouting and blaming others. When he was shouting, "He's my son." I found myself shouting back at the television, "Well look after him them." And I have started to have a suspicion that Sarah killed Theo.

Aveline Fri 05-Jun-26 08:55:03

I wish Daniel would just get a grip. This story is just boring.

Charleygirl5 Fri 05-Jun-26 09:04:38

Especially now he is shouting is head off about Social Services involvement. I would think Jodie made the call.

Are we going to see an episode on Monday does anybody know? I forgot we had to give way for some sport tonight.

Grannynannywanny Fri 05-Jun-26 09:19:11

Another here who is becoming increasingly annoyed with Daniel’s behaviour.

Corrie and Emmerdale (I’m a glutton for punishment and watch both) will both be shown on Sunday evening to make way for tonight’s football.
