Bake Off - Goodbye to Prue

So Prue has decided to stand down - suggestions for replacement?

If we're sticking with the male/female format I would go with either Delia or Nigella - though I doubt either of them would do it.

I expect Si King would be a popular choice. I'd love to see John Torode but he's not really known for his baking skills and probably too "chefy".

I think Nigella could be fun. Prue has been great, but at nearly 80 myself I can see that she's probably had enough. I always love her clothes and I enjoy her Cotswold Kitchen programmes.

If it's Nigella that should be fun.

Glad she is going, I found her very patronising. Nigella is a good replacement, looking forward to seeing this now.

I will watch it whoever they choose; I am addicted to the programme. However, I would be very happy if Alison Hammond were to leave. Her voice drives me crazy and she is DEFINITLY not funny.

I think Delia is a similar age to Prue but looks a lot younger.

Oh no not Nigella! That's put me right off watching now.

I’m a fan of Nigella. Didn’t realise she seems to have so many haters. Lorraine Pascale would also be a great choice. Delia would be fabulous. But guessing she’s too busy with Norwich football club!

I only watch the programme when there is little else. I cannot stand Nigella so I doubt if I will watch it but I may give her one go.

She is 86.

Who is?

Nadiya would be great too. Such a lovely gentle lady with a kind nature.

Nobody can ever be as bad as the odious, patronising, cold, sanctimonious Mary Berry. (This is my polite description of her) I absolutely HATE her and have to turn the television off when she appears. For some reason she thinks she is the nation's sweetheart. Prue was wonderful, kind, funny and a great presenter. I will miss her.

Lorraine Pascale.

Absolutely Lorraine Pascale
She is a wonderful baker, she has a lovely voice and knows what she’s doing.

Never watched Baje Of. It looks as interesting as watching paint dry.

But l am a big fan of the.Great British Pottery Throw Down and the Sewing Bee.

Los of skilled talented people who make lovely, high class ceramics and clothes..

If you want to watch paint dry, I recommend Game of Wool.

It’s been confirmed that Nigella Lawson will take over from Prue.
👏👏👏

Great 😀 I love Nigella.

Personally I would like to see Nadiya Hussein who won Bake Off herself.

I also like Nadia Hussein very much, she's a great cook, very funny and self-deprecating. I suspect, sadly, that they're looking for a noisy celebrity type, just what I don't like.
Sorry to hear that Prue is going though.

Absolutely anyone BUT Nigella f&£)(:/g Lawson - no one on earth turns me off SO quickly not even Fiona f&£)(:g Bruce who I equally abhor

I do so agree about Nigella.

I’m not sure Nigella will work. Also I don’t see her as an acclaimed baker, more a savoury/meals kind of cook. However I’m not really a fan of her so perhaps I’m being a bit disingenuous

I read a while ago that Cherish is joining

thank goodness she's gone, I didn't like her I found her terse, hideously bright colour clothes and not as good as Paul at feedback. she never had the warmth Mary had.
I'd love Si King but probably not 2 men, Nigella would be great but there's no confirmation yet. I think she was told to do that fluttery eyelash bit & over did it, hopefully she could be more natural. I think it needs someone natural not a professional chaffy type. I do agree Mary was superb.
