I think programme is very good. Anyone else enjoying it?

Binged it. Very good. David Morrissey even better than usual. His acting in the scenes where he 'broke down' were absolutely amazing.
.

Totally agree.

I agree - the emotions portrayed in his acting then were outstanding, especially in contrast to his previously ‘buttoned up’ character

Binge-watched it recently. David Morrisey was very good. Disappointing ending.

I binged it - thought it was slow to start but warmed very much to it because of the quality of the acting from David Morrissey and Eve Myles and the script which at no point had me saying "I could write this stuff myself".

I watched it but wasn’t overly impressed.
The ending was very disappointing too.

Bit slow in places but a lot better than most of the current programmes, enjoying it so far.

Yes, we're watching it.
I wonder how it will end 🤔

Don't tell us, REKA!

My lips are sealed 😌

Excellent.

I must be missing something, but didn’t see why we needed the back story of the missing girl from a previous unsolved case.

I felt the interactions with that family lent nothing to the plot.

I have enjoyed it. I think I have worked out who the murderer is, but I assume I will have to wait until next week for confirmation.

I thought that. DH thought he'd guessed.. We were both wrong :-)

I loved it I thought both the head master and Eve Myles were fantastic and totally had me The scene where he got so upset was brilliantly done
I thought it was the best drama we d had in a very long time from the acting point of view

I thought that in a way, but I guess it was to show more of the character of Eve Myles - a good detective, but not sticking to protocol - so ‘demoted’ to FLO, which frustrated her.

Chocolatelovinggran Tue 24-Mar-26 08:40:32

Perhaps the missing girl story opens the door to another programme?

TerriBull Tue 24-Mar-26 09:43:36

I finished it last night, I thought it was a superior crime drama that was very well acted. Some reviews commented it was a bit slow, I don't mind slow if it appears to be going somewhere. Both David Morrisey and Eve Myles were so good in their respective roles. I first saw Eve Myles in Keeping Faith and it's good to see her in other roles.

Basgetti Tue 24-Mar-26 09:43:51

Haven’t finished it.
I blame the dog walker 😁

I thought that too, I thought there was going to be a breakthrough at the end with the new forensics, but nothing.

The character of Annie Cassidy is based on a real-life detective in Avon and Somerset who, with dogged determination, solved a cold case from the 1980s. The perpetrator was jailed.

The main story of Gone is fictional but, sadly, there are still ongoing cold cases which remain unsolved years later but this shows that they are not forgotten and the side story shows this aspect of cold cases.

That Craig was a nasty character

dotpocka Tue 24-Mar-26 19:51:42

eve is my favorites

Clawdy Tue 24-Mar-26 19:57:30

I enjoyed it, but like others on here, wish they had solved the cold case. Can't believe Annie would have put up with the dreadful Craig!

Cossy Tue 24-Mar-26 20:13:21

Haven’t watched it as yet! Will binge it and come back here when finished.

Not all cold cases end in a result ☹

Clawdy Wed 25-Mar-26 08:27:13

But they usually do in a tv drama! Wonder if they're planning another series.
