Just binge watched the new series. Think it’s the best one I’ve seen. Love the chemistry between everybody plus it features my part of the world.

I am watching it now. I saw most of the last one on Sundays, but this is the first of this series I have seen, and I'm enjoying it.

Dare I say I’m loving all the girlie chats and would love to be in their ‘coven’!

I wish I was part of it.

I wonder if they walk all the way, or get lifts and film the walking as they approach the various stop-off points?

Loving the scenery and all the places visited. I am particularly looking forward to Lindisfarne which I visited a few years ago.

So beautiful. Having walked St Cuthbert's Way from Melrose to Holy Island just after the pandemic, the programme brought back such happy memories. DH and I walked the causeway barefoot as it was the easiest way carrying boot laces in hand. I will never forget it.
I have always loved that place since first visiting as a child.
What an inspiring journey for the group.

It said somewhere that they use coaches for some of it.

St Oswalds Way goes through the field at the back of my partners house. There’s the biggest bull you ever saw in that field sometimes and it terrifies me to see people walking through it. plus cows and their calves, and the path cuts through the centre of the field so you can easily walk between the cows and their babies.

I once walked from Craster to Dunstanburgh through a field with cows, and it was scary. We hadn't realised we were in a field, as we were following a footpath. As it was a BH there were lots of other people on it, and the cows were a distance away. When they saw us they came to say hello, and I couldn't wait to get out of there.

The only time I walk through cows is when they graze the dunes in winter. I know they won’t have calves and they aren’t enclosed in a field. And most animals are calmer in winter.

Yes, I wouldn't do it by choice. It was a relief when we got through to the other side.

Dogs have been killed round here by an inquisitive herd of cows. I do steer clear of fields with cattle in.

MayBee70 Tue 07-Apr-26 16:30:22

I’ve been pinned in a hedge with my two dogs by young, but incredibly huge bullocks. It was terrifying. It was an L shaped field and I didn’t know they were there till I entered the field and they charged at me. Mind you I knew a farrier that would never enter a field full of horses he didn’t know.

Have only seen Episode 1. Loved it

I really enjoy the Pilgrimage programmes and this series is no exception. It’s refreshing to hear a spiritual conversation and they visit such interesting places.
They do a lot of walking though, more than I could ever manage.
I was also interested in their visit to the beach on Runswick Bay. Having holidayed there I know there’s an extremely steep road as you climb up from the beach and I wondered how they’d physically managed it having walked from south of Whitby.

They didn't walk all the way Treebee. The opening blurb said that they travelled by foot and bus.
I was exhausted just watching them tackle those hills though. We used a car when we visited those places.
Lovely programme.

I find the discussion of their faith or none most interesting. I was particularly taken with Hasan; he seems a truly good and kind man, very sure of his faith.

I watched it for the first time recently, the first episode of this current series. Only watched it because of the particular route. Lasted about 15 /20 mins and thought it was dreadful. Apart from Hermioni Norris and Patsy Kensit I didn't recognise any of the 'celebrities' and found their earnest discussions boring, would rather watch paint dry.

I loved it, it's always good but this one was especially good. I rarely know any of the participants but that doesn't bother me. I loved the chat and the scenery was stunning. I'd love to do one of those walks but I don't know how, I struggle to walk to the loo these days. There must be a way to do it for people with disabilities, I'll look into it.

I loved it too and having only realised that it was on will try to catch up with the first two episodes of this series. Years ago DH and I did the route to Santiago de Compostela by car and I’ve had an interest in pilgrimages ever since.

dustyangel Wed 08-Apr-26 16:03:17

We did it from the edge of our town where there is a cockle shell symbol on the wall by the road going north.

I’ve watched all the Pilgrimage series & loved them all. It doesn’t matter if I’ve heard of the participants or not. I’m not religious but find different religions interesting. It’s so sad that the tolerance to other beliefs shown by the Pilgrims isn’t shared by so many others.

I’ve loved this series. I’ve watched all of the previous ones.it is real tv with serious conversations and just a great programme to include faith and all the conversations it produces.

I agree. I'm not religious either, but find other people's beliefs fascinating, and enjoy listening to discussions about that sort of thing. Also, the scenery and people the pilgrims meet on the way are interesting too.
