Anyone watching? Quite a cosy detective drama. Beautiful scenery in Italy and Croatia, and looks like they will show some delicious food as well!

My hearing isn’t great, so I didn’t catch everything one of the characters said but it didn’t stop my enjoyment.

Great recipes look forward to trying them

The plot was secondary to the scenery and food for me - I’m going to have a go at Eggs in Purgatory. It looked delicious.

Why would anyone have a 'taste' for murder? This whole sanitising and trivialising of a criminal and devastating act is something I just don't understand and never will...

Oh for goodness sake keepingquiet get a grip!!

Well that's me told! Some people clearly don't understand irony.

Thanks GNs looking for it now.

Thanks a ton Clawdy -I'll have a look .

I love murder mysteries, but I hope that it's better than Queens of Mystery, which even lovely Julie Graham couldn't redeem .

Yes, enjoyed it. Loved the scenery. It’s a classic whodunit, with a possible romance between the father and the Italian detective? 🤔 I wonder what the daughter’s reaction will be?

It is really boring in my opinion however the scenery is amazing. I was sure it was not all set in Capri as I’ve been there before. I’ve given up on it after 3 episodes!

I totally agree with Keeping Quiet!

I don’t think it has quite as much charm as Signora Volpe where the beautiful scenery really is filmed in Italy but I’ll stick with it.

Oh my goodness thank you! I feel bad for hi-jacking the thread but people making remarks about my username is not on.

I stand by my opinion on the murder mystery thing though- I just don't get it.

I see your point.
However, knowing about some very horrific murders during my working life, I still enjoy programmes like Death in Paradise etc.

Somehow, I seem to be able to differentiate them in my mind. We are spared the gruesome details or, if we are shown details, I am curious. Or mutter about how far-fetched they are until DH tells me I'm spoiling the programme 😀

Perhaps that's odd. Perhaps I'm odd !

I'll look out for this one, love Croatia.

Ps the term 'Cosy Murder Mystery' really annoys me though.

There is nothing whatsoever cosy about it.

The thing about murder mysteries, keepingquiet, is that the 'baddie' gets their comeuppance and justice is served.
Sadly, this does not happen in the real world around us.
I/we are not revelling in the actual crime, but in the resolution.
Hope this does help to explain.

Thanks GNs, I found it last night. The scenery is beautiful. Yes, will try that recipe with the eggs. 📺

I think that's it.

We see that justice is done.

It's watchable although I'd put it in the same category as Signora Volpe, Madame Leblanc, Midsomer Murders etc. It could easily be a Sunday afternoon watch.

Babamaman Sun 03-May-26 16:55:52

Watching it now, it’s lovely with the exception of the night scenes. Because they don’t come out well on tv!
And it is slightly predictable - an easy watch

Not really, but thanks for trying.

I watched a true crime doc the other night on a horrible murder that happened in Shetland.

Contrary to the fictionalised TV drama- murders like this happen only once about every 30 years in that part of the world.

Yet, the TV show makes out there's one a week!

If justice only works in proportion to the crimes committed then there isn't much justice around in some parts of the world...

I am enjoying the scenery, not so much the storylines but they are ok.
I tried Signora Volpe, Emilia Fox is so sweet and sickly, always a smile and saintly looking, I gave up on it.
Do I get a prize for cattiness?
