I'll statt with one who not many people will know unless they follow horse racing. Megan Nicholls, daughter of trainer Paul, is only 27, but her knowledge of the sport is amazing, she is a real professional, and likes to have a laugh. Also she has another career modelling clothers for events like Royal Ascot and is probably one of the best looking women on teleivision.

Not really a TV presenter as such but I like Orla Guerin and Kate Adie (though don't see her much these days).

Chris Packham and his step daughter Megan McCubbin.

MissAdventure Sun 10-May-26 16:31:07

Oh yes
I like Chris' Packham.

I’ve always loved Luke Harvey, ever since I saw a documentary about him and he then had a slot on Radio 5 ( when they dropped him we wrote and complained to no avail). He’s so self effacing. I wasn’t taken with Megan at first but she has grown on me. I still think of her as a little girl with her dad, though ( where has the time gone). On the radio I listen to Must Watch every Monday and the two pundits, Hayley Campbell and Scott ( I always forget his surname) work so well together (well they have been working together for a long time). Also Naga Munchety (sp) started chairing the programme when Nihal left the BBC and, although I never watch breakfast tv I did get the impression that I wouldn’t like her, but she’s great and has really gelled with the other two. If for any reason the programme is cancelled I go into panic mode because I enjoy it so much…it’s like they’re old friends and there are so many in jokes.

Claudia.

But one person tops them all for me - Terry Wogan. Don't think anyone will ever better him when it comes to Eurovision.

Simon Reeve

In Scandinavia.

I didn't see it last year, thoroughly enjoyed it this evening and it was very enlightening too.

Neil Oliver and David Attenborough?
Climate denier and planet protector! Wow!

Allira Mon 11-May-26 14:29:43

Opposite ends of the spectrum!!

Neil Oliver - Reform advocate and alleged conspiracy theorist?

monami Mon 11-May-26 14:34:47

Gethin Jones.

He's lovely.

Oregano Mon 11-May-26 15:08:45

I loved Terry Wogan, no-one can better him in my opinion, he was so down to earth and funny.
I also love Romesh especially on his Parents Evening with his mum!
Clive Myrie is lovely and seems very genuine., he's a natural on Mastermind.
I also loved Steph McGovern on her Packed Lunch programme and her novel Deadline was really good too!

Oh, dear!

I like Neil Oliver too, he's on one of the grumpy old men channels that my husband likes but I've not seen him on anything mainstream recently.
I like Evan Davis on the R4 PM programme, I believe that he does Dragon's Den though I don't watch that. I wonder why he's not on the TV more?

Frank Gardener. Just love his voice and his straight talking. Nina Warhurst and all the female newsreaders on BBC but not necessarily the ones that read the local news. Except for the dreaded Naga.

grannybuy Mon 11-May-26 16:23:19

As above, Clive Myrie
Simon Reeves
Ben Fogle
I also like Ben Thompson, who stands in on BBC news, Alexis Conran, Gordon Buchanan, a wildlife photographer and presenter, and Victoria Derbyshire on Newsnight.

WithNobsOnIt Mon 11-May-26 16:44:23

Bethany Hughes is top class.
Gabi Logan and Mark Chapman
on MTD.
Laura Kunesberg.

Roger Johnson on BBC North West tonight.
Paddy on Newsnight.

Can't cant stand Clive Myrie too full.of himself.

My neighbour can't stand Ant and Dec and refers to them as Pinky and Perky after the old puppet show.

Retroladytyping Mon 11-May-26 16:52:02

David Garmston who presents our local news, Points West.

Galaxy62 Mon 11-May-26 17:12:29

Another one for Chris Packham and Megan

StoneofDestiny Mon 11-May-26 17:39:19

David Olusoga - superb.

StoneofDestiny Mon 11-May-26 17:43:12

Can’t stand Ant and Dec or Neil Oliver. David Attenborough and David Olusoga are poles apart from those clowns.

Beans12 Mon 11-May-26 17:49:34

David Attenborough because of all he's done for wildlife...Paul O'Grady for loving animals so much (I cried a ridiculous amount when he died)..and Pete Wicks, who is very easy on the eye, and loves dogs as much as I do-and isn't afraid to show his emotions, bless him!

Dodo43 Mon 11-May-26 18:19:18

Clive Myrie, Steven Mangan, and Susan Calman (her giggles have me giggling too in no time)
Also Simon Reeve.

Oldnproud Mon 11-May-26 18:35:15

Ben Fogle
Simon Reeve
Lee Mack
Bradley Walsh
And many more whose names ust won't come to me.

Whether I would like them in real life, who knows.

I can't think of any female celebrities who I particularly like, but that doesnt mean that I dislike a lot of them, just that they don't seem to have lodged in my mind for some reason.
