New Strictly Presenters.

Thought Emma was shouting a lot! Guess she’s nervy. Hope she settles down. Also think she would have looked better in a brighter coloured dress/ the gold was too subtle. Quite like Josh & Jo Jo but shame Rylan missed out. I think he’d have been great with Emma

I have just watched last nights show.

I really like Emma Willis and her dress.

I think as much as JoJo is a fabulous dancer he needs the experience of Josh upstairs on the sofa.

Looking forward to this series.

Two’s company, three’s a crowd they say and I think that is the problem with the Strictly presenters. Josh looks completely lost. Johannes is fine, but Emma is not a Tess Daly. A pity that Anton is a judge now, though he’s very good, however he would have made an excellent presenter.

I agree with you, Anton would have been great.

Emma Willis is an extremely experienced presenter and has done many things.

I like Josh, I adore JoJo.

I love the judges.

I’m waiting to see how they all gel, before I comment on whether I like them on this show together.

Johannes was the best dancer,will really miss him competing.

Me too. I’ve seen him twice “live”, once in his own touring show, where he spoke between dances. He deliberately employed young, quite inexperienced, but extremely talented dancers. He spoke about his gratitude to Strictly, his gratitude to the UK and his gratitude most of all to his fans. His choice of dancers was specifically to give them an opportunity, as he was given. I don’t thinks he’s egotistical at all.

The second time was when he toured in Kinky Boots.

He was fabulous in both!

Yes Zoe Ball would have been perfect as a Strictly presenter, what a shame she missed-out!

I shall certainly miss Johanas not dancing as he was a glorious dancer & such a beautiful personality too but he will be a great presenter.
I'm glad Claudia & Tess have been replaced though. Lovely Tess was not so bad really, apart from being a bit bland. I have to say that I find it very hard to watch Ms Winkleman.
She annoys me so much, it makes my teeth-itch! I'm not so sure about
Emma, as I find her terribly bland & annoying. I like Josh though as he's
witty & charming & often very
acerbic to help balance Emma's
rather l irritating trait of gushing
& over-enthusiasm! It will be fine, I'm sure, keep moaning!! 🙃

I had forgotten about Zoe Ball, would have preferred her to Willis, as she presented it before at very short notice and was extremely good.Also dance experience and knowledge.
But BBC seem to be going for presenters etc they think will bring a following, witness all the 'influencers' rather than people who might actually be good at it.

I started this thread back in May when we found out who the new presenters were.

Have subsequently started a new one ‘Strictly 2026-Remembering Sparklefizz’ and hope (tactfully) that this is the one we use to review Strictly.

It’s just a bit confusing when there are two similar threads, and I feel silly as I have (unknowingly) started both of them….

I like all 3. I can't stand Tess Daly so I'm pleased she's gone.

Still wondering why they need three presenters. May become clearer when the competition begins. Not very sparkly. Even Emma’s dress was drab. Must admit I gave up after seeing who Lacey Turner was partnered with and carried on catching up with the Up programmes.

What problems does she have with her hair? It always seems to look great.

Emma has said that she had problems with her hair thinning after her pregnancies, which sometimes can happen. Perhaps it has recovered now.
I had problems years ago on a new medication and know it's best to keep it short.

I thought her hair was really on point - bang up to date.

Oh, I must be old-fashioned then!
None of the women I know of around her age wear their hair like that.

I like Josh but was surprised that he was chosen as a presenter on Strictly, wish Johannes was still dancing not presenting and I do like Emma, but her hairstyle is not the most flattering now.
She does have hair problems but good hairdressers can help with that.

Weird choice. Can't stand Josh Widdicombe, supposed to be a comedian but not at all funny and has an irritating voice. They don't need three either. Rylan would have been good and I love Emma. It's never been the same since Bruce left. Can't bear Claudia with her weird gurning and hidden eyes. There must have been many more suitable replacements for Bruce. Think it's best with a man and a woman.

I'm reserving judgement on whether these 3 will work well. I hope they do, as I love Strictly!

Really sad that it looks like JoJo won't be dancing, I think he is spectacular to watch. My husband recently surprised me with tickets for Kinky Boots in the West End, and JoJo was amazing. A role that was made for him! ( Matt Cardle and the rest of the cast were great too! )

Personally, I would have liked Rylan and Zoe in the other 2 roles, but we shall give the new ones a chance ,and see.

Why do they need a 'roving reporter'? Can't stand Johannes personally and don't know what he can add. I guess as they've 'let go' so many professionals they haven't got so many left and have to fill in the programme slot with even more chatter.

I'm unsure what to think really. Don't know Emma or Josh and haven't seen them in anything before.

I wish it had been Zoe.

The show certainly is in need of a revamp. I like Johannes but don't much care for the other two. but I'll give it a try. I had got so tired of the format that I used to record the programme and then just watch the dancing and fast forward through the rest of it. Shame that Johannes isn't dancing anymore.

RYLAN, good grief, hes like a rash

From what I have read, the BBC carried out an extensive interview process, getting different people to audition with each other to check how they worked together. Although Josh Widdicombe is most certainly a wild card I feel that he could prove to be a good host in the post-dance room. He is a witty individual, with a charming manner so I hope he does well. He's not one of those very loud celebrities, he's not permanently turning up on red carpets so many will not know of him well. If you think back to when Claudia got the SCD presenting role, she was not widely known either. Let's give him a chance.
